  1. "Alexander", "Troy" , "Kingdom of Heaven" and "King Arthur". Unbelievably bad... historic films are obviously tricky. Many of the post-Lord of the Rings films with big battle scenes and pretty shots are pretty awful. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Ughhh.
  2. In the Name of the Father Le Fabuleux Destin d'Am̮̩̉̉lie Poulain A film that can actually give you such a different look without being disturbing, dark or pessimistic.
  3. I'm the weirdo who likes the skills everyone hates: 1) thieving 2) farming 3) agility (It's true!)
  4. From Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Joel: Valentine's Day is a day invented by greeting card companies to make people feel like crap. Clementine: I'm gonna marry you... I know it! Joel: Ummm... okay... From Some Like it Hot: Osgood: I am Osgood Fielding the third. Daphne: I'm Cinderella the second. From His Girl Friday: Walter Burns: Take Hitler and stick him on the funny page. Bruce Baldwin: He's got a lot of charm. Hildy Johnson: Yes, it comes naturally; his grandfather was a snake! Walter Burns: I still wish you hadn't done that, Hildy. Hildy Johnson: Done what? Walter Burns: Divorced me. It makes a man feel he's not wanted. Hildy Johnson: Oh, now look, junior... that's what divorces are FOR! Hildy Johnson: He treats me like a woman. Walter Burns: What did I treat you like? A water buffalo? From Monty Python and the Holy Grail Sir Bedevere: What makes you think she's a witch? Peasant: Well, she turned me into a newt! Sir Bedevere: A newt? Crowd: [meekly after a long pause] ... I got better. Crowd: [shouts] Burn her anyway!
  5. And it burns, burns, burns... the ring of fire... I love Cash. What a man, what a man. Live at Folsom Prison, those songs never fail to send shivers down my spine. I really liked Walk the Line a lot as well. Reese Witherspoon proved that she is a great actress indeed.
  6. That reminds me of the time when I was playing another game than RS way too much. Whenever I did something stupid in real life, I was truly shocked: "Oh no, whaddaya mean, I can't save and reload?" Good signals to make you stop, think and get out a bit more
  7. You know, if taken out of context, this would definitely raise a lot of questions. As you said yourself, English is not the native language of most of the rs players. (Even though I sometimes have the impression that some of them know the language better than the native speakers do.) So give us a break! On topic: interesting question. I have no idea of the exact times though...
  8. I would have to admit that I probably play a bit too often. Sometimes a friend calls to go for a drink and I'm like 'oh no, I just planted my watermelons' and I ask them if it's okay if I'll join them in an hour. I'm ashamed now
  9. I'm in the process of combining smelting gold bars with stealing gems in the rogue's den. Makes for great smithing, thieving and crafting (and magic, if you enchant) experience in one round. But it does take a while, to put it mildly
  10. K or kk. Hate it. I absolutely loathe the standard rs conversations: A: Wc lvl? B: 74 A: Kk B: U? A: 51 B: omg noob
  11. I joined because I was looking for a partner for heroes' quest. I had been visiting tip.it before for its great calculators. After heroes, I noticed I still had loads to learn about the game, so I started reading many of the posts here...
  12. Really nice moments were - getting rogue's outfit after a very long day in the maze - getting 1k agility tickets - hitting 63 farming Will be surpassed soon (hopefully) by getting my first whip (800k to go...)
  13. When I began playing RS, I loved the randoms. But these days, I get 5 or 6 randoms in a few hours. They're really starting to bug me. Randoms are supposed to be rare. But if you have more than 10 different kinds of randoms, well yeah, no wonder we're getting flooded. Jagex should either cut down on the number of randoms or their (combined!) frequency. Less is more.
  14. Mmhmm. Nice idea, but giving away stuff soon gets a nuisance instead of a fun thing to do. Slightly off-topic: I was smithing steel plates one day in Varrock and I saw this girl pass by. She was wearing full steel, except for her plate, which was iron. So yeah, here I am, with my plates, thinking "oh well, let's be nice". I trade her and give her the plate, she accepts and then starts flaming me for following her and bothering her and so on. I thought "huh?" and walked away, regret already filling my poor wounded heart. Then she starts pm'ing me and flaming me again. Ten minutes later, she calmed down, said she had mistaken me for someone else (uhuh) and begged for full mith. I don't know if there's a lesson to be learned here, but I'm very careful these days. I'm glad to help people out (as long as they don't go "plz" - if you can't be bothered to write 'please' in full, don't expect me to make time for you), but I never ever give stuff away to complete strangers.
  15. Erm yeah, I still have to do the Shilo Village quest... *blushing* Yeah yeah, I know, I know... it's been on my to-do list for a while now, but I just never seem to get round to actually doing it.
  16. Teleport didn't work for me in there (amulet of glory). I myself died a painful death down there, unable to get away... and I'm not going back in any time soon. That quest turned me into a cute little kitten-murderer!
  17. Okay okay, many apologies for hitting the wrong price for canonballs, since it seems to be so offensive  Maybe if I combine gold smelting with thieving gems. Might get my lousy crafting up a bit as well while I'm at it.
  18. I gave up on smithing shortly after I became a member, but I want to go for the magic 99 (or at least 80) again, combining it with mining. I'm doubting between several options: - smelting and smithing mithril, high-alching the two-handed swords for 1500+ gp - smelting and smithing steel for canonballs, selling them at 250 ea - smelting gold bars with bonus from gauntlets, using the bars for? dunno? crafting? what are they good for anyway? I like the magic bonus from mithril, I like the money from canonballs (whip is getting closer) and I like the fast xp from gold. What to do?
  19. It's all point of view I guess. Usually, I wouldn't consider lvl 60-70's as newbs/noobs, but lately, more and more of these fairly good lvls start begging and bugging. You'd think they'd have enough gaming experience to know that that is a generally bad idea. I have 91 cb and a skill total of 1395 or so. I'm quite happy with it (been playing for 9 months, 4 months of membership), but I still don't consider myself anywhere near high level.
  20. I'd also go for agility arena. There's people to talk nonsense with (and motivate you) and somehow it's easier to set a goal (say 1k tix) and stick to it, than doing the same lap over and over and over and over again. At 63, you won't be failing often in the arena either, always getting to the arrow first, annoying the others like hell. Gnagna

    Agility

I went for the arena and saved 1k tickets... it took me 5 days of playing 3-4 hours, yes, but it got me from ag 53 or so to ag 67. Very rewarding!
  22. I get declined time and again too. I entered the day I subscribed, for how long, the price, my bank account number, the order ID from paybycash, how long I've been playing, answers to earlier recovery questions etc. I don't know what more I can do *sob* -- Edit: Apparently, Jagex finally took mercy on me. My last try was successful, I gave them old answers to old recovery questions. Good luck, everyone!
  23. How long does it take for Jagex to react? This is really silly. Okay, I've been a dumb [wagon]. But yesterday, as soon as I saw the 'happy' news on RS and Tip.It, I immediately changed my pass. Without any trouble. Because Jagex advised me to. So now I log back in, and now I am suspect for changing my password. Deep sigh. I don't pay by credit card, but by PayByCash, so I could not give them the necessary info to immediately retrieve my account, even though I set recovery questions and answered them right. This is no fun. --- Edit: wagon??? You can't even say the equivalent of "donkey"? LOL!
  24. Various high level seeds. I love farming and the prices of seeds (and the difficulty to obtain them) just kill me. One day I walked into a general store and there were like 30 strawberry seeds, 20 watermelon seeds, a couple of tree and various herb seeds. I was buying so fast that I have no idea how much I spent exactly, but it was a lot less than 1000 gp for sure. A true happy dance moment.
  25. Sometimes when I'm farming, I fool around with the camera view (rotating while going up, down), making it look all Matrix-like. I usually stop when I get a bit seasick
