The reward of strung rabbit foot (getting more nests) makes me feel even more like bird's eggs are coming into play quite soon...

she wants to kill me afterwards .. and what scene is that in ? The wedding rehearsal scene, where Bill and his girls massacre everybody and leave our dear heroine, Uma Thurman, a.k.a. the bride behind in a pool of blood and loose bodyparts. I believe you get to see the scene in Vol. 2. In my case, as I probably closed my eyes half the time, I only saw it partly. *I'm such a wuss*

Regardless of the question why people 'marry' in RS: why in the blazes would you wish to marry in the midst of the wilderness? Inspired by Kill Bill's wedding scene?

So I'm wondering.. When are YOU going to start hunting?
Sumpta replied to Wkw's topic in General Discussion
I already started, level 33 now, got there in little bits. I only train at moments when the worlds are empty, my real 'hunter strike' will start when the hunter areas are running empty. -
Are female players more likely to be skillers?
Sumpta replied to antonwhy's topic in General Discussion
I'm female. I like both combat (lvl 106) and skills (total 1673). If it weren't for slayer, I might not train my combat very much though... I don't like PK. Don't know if it has anything to do with my gender. I've never killed another player in the wild and I don't think I ever will. -
I haven't tried it out yet and the reports of nasty behaviour aren't really motivating me. Then again, I've dropped almost 3k places in the overall high-scores, and it's starting to itch... So I might try it out tomorrow when everyone is at school and the worlds are quiet. If I want to keep my quest cape, I'll have to train it at least a little before Monday/Tuesday as well. Strangely enough, I'm not looking forward to it right now, but I have a feeling I'll like it a lot once I get started. I'll be wanting to go to 60 at the very least, considering most of my skills are 70+ and I want to use tears of guthix for my rc (now at 56).

Tip.It Times Presents: Quests: the FIVE Different Types?
Sumpta replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
This latest article was not written by the Editor. Is was written by Caisadi. Yes, yes, I understood that. I do have a few brain cells. What I meant was that the whole unsavoury discussion here makes me realise why it's better to have anonymous writers. -
Tip.It Times Presents: Quests: the FIVE Different Types?
Sumpta replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
Caisadi, don't leave the Tip.It community over this. The article wasn't the greatest read we've had, but a lot of people felt the same way about the one before that. So what. People read it, like it or not and move on. I understand you're disappointed, but can you not set those feelings aside and stick with Tip.It? I don't think I'm the only one who feels you'd be missed. Kiara, your point hit home. I can see why you wouldn't want to reveal the names of the editors. -
I'll be tumbling down many places in the highscores, but I won't train the skill for a few days. It goes against my perception of hunting to be skilling it while standing around with ten other hunters... I'll wait till the hype cools down and make use of the quieter moments at dragons or mining spots. Seems to be a fun skill though. Same slow, non-buyable league as thieving and agility, just my thing! (And no, no sarcasm intended...)
-
I really like agility. The problem is that people for some weird reason train agility non-stop for a week because they need to do some quest. They only think of that 56 or whatever level it is they need. And then they're amazed that they don't like it and grow tired of the skill  I have a habit of spending an hour or two a week in Ape Atoll, usually while watching something stupid on tv that doesn't require all my attention, or while listening to music or something. I find it's very relaxing. Funny to see other monkeys/players fall into the water as well, grin. I also kind of compete with the other players, try to keep up with them or be faster. Or racing for tickets. In the Brimhaven arena you always make new friends as well. Cursing together creates an alliance!

Take it with you. Saying that that the chain is super rare and ring of wealth only works for regular rare, that is some seriously twisted logic. And it probably comes from people who only kill dusties to get a chain and are disappointed because the RoW didn't give it to them within 1.000 kills. It's highly unlikely you'll get the drop. Enjoy the great combat xp and the other decent drops the dusties give you. But don't hold out for the chain. If you do get it, you'll be all the more happy.

. . : : Bad RuneScape habits? :-\ : : . .
Sumpta replied to Pinkbullet3's topic in General Discussion
The excessive examination disorder is not unknown to me. If I reach a certain amount of money, I don't want to spend it beyond a certain barrier. For example, I just made 350k with blue hide bodies, getting me at 1600k. Now, instead of using the money as I planned to, I'll go out and make more, 'cos I don't want to drop below 1500k. Totally ridiculous. I have papers all over the house listing my goals... How much xp I want to get a week, what I'm gonna do, how many hours I think it's gonna take. I always have a few to do-lists going. I love calculating all that stuff with the help of the Tip.It calculators instead of actually using that time to reach my goals #-o I always have to have trees and herbs growing. I feel at unease if the catherby herbing patch is empty. I cannot let big bones lie around unburied. Thankfully, I have no such problem with normal bones. I always check the highscores after I logged off. -
how would you feel if you became a player mod ?
Sumpta replied to FleurK's topic in General Discussion
I would be honoured and I would probably accept it. On the other hand... all that attention, all those people watching your every step. Some people jump at the chance of being able to report a mod. Sometimes I have bad RS days, when I don't help anyone out and 'snub' people. Other days I don't mind taking lower levels to places, helping them through quests or rogue's den or whatever... As a mod, you don't have the kind of liberty to say "go away" just like that. I'd rather they never ask, so I won't have to accept :D -
I love the skills many people hate: agility, farming, herblore, thieving... I absolutely loathe rc and I don't like the cost of construction, so I don't train them. They're still reasonably high because of tears of Guthix. You gotta love that game... Then again, there are also people who take pleasure in getting total levels (me! me!) and keeping all skills even. If that's their fun, they're entitled to it as well. That doesn't mean they're only doing that to adjust tot the rules of the community. So everybody does as they please, as long as they keep to the Jagex rules.

The highscores drive me. Maybe that's sad, but it's true. At first it was a goal to have all stats ranked. Then I wanted to be top 500.000, next top 200.000 etc etc. I like the thought of there being only xxxx people who are better in the skill/total then I am :D. However, a rank 1 is not something I strive for. I'm not that crazy...

Like everybody else I loved the Niles and me picture. Its style and humour remind me a lot of the strip album Ast̮̩̉̉rix (although it could just be the warrior helm), should anyone of you know it. Maybe some Belgian/Dutch/French players round here? I wonder if the guy has read those. I also liked the frog prince picture a lot. It's one of my most hated randoms, but this picture makes it cute and imaginative again.

Even though you can only make it into the fourth room, I'd still recommend Pyramid Plunder. It's a really fun and diverse way of thieving. I always have a ball there. There's a good Pyramid Plunder guide (focussing on xp) in the AoW or the Player Made Guides.

Yup, they drop rune stuff all the time. You'll get heaps of javelins, darts and limbs. I've also gotten many a rune battle axe from them. And of course, the occasional dragon drop, which makes metal dragons worth your while. However, I do agree that ranged is not really the easiest way to tackle a metal dragon. Then again, they used to say the same for melee and that actually works like a charm, so...
-
Not stocking up anything. When the new skill arrives, I'll be checking it out and see what I need. If easily attainable, I'll get the stuff. If it' not, I'll wait a bit until the hype calms down.

Yup, collecting is tedious and you won't be able to train many skills. Hitting the monks becomes increasingly difficult as your combat skills get lower. Another option is to telegrab the wines, but that won't get you much of a profit, obviously. Definitely use the altar, you can continuously have restore stats and hp on. Makes things a little easier. And it's hard finding buyers, but the reverse is true as well. I've gone hoarse several times from shouting 'buying wines of zammy' and then winding up getting them myself...

I try to keep the three at the same level. I have 84 att, 86 str, 84 def and 85 hp or something in that range (too lazy to look it up). I love high defense, it makes slayer a lot easier. I'm very fond of the controlled option of the whip. It makes training combat less frustrating, because you gain levels in succession.

I doubted whether to post this in rants, but it isn't a rant, really more of a tendency I've been observing in RS (p2p) for a while now: a lot of people don't pick up their drops. In some cases, this is perfectly understandable: - the drops aren't worthwhile the time you lose picking them up (i.e. 5 - 25 coins, waterfilled skins, bronze/iron/steel junk etc) - You need to save space for the better drops, for example at blue drags: the bones/hides are worth more than that one mithril shield - You're doing slayer and want to finish your task in one go: you need the space for food and the best drops However, yesterday I was killing cockatrice(s?) for my herblore. I love them, every time I go there, I leave with 50 nats, a lvl 2 clue scroll, 20 limps and some random seeds/herbs. After a while, a lvl 80-something pops in (wearing rune and dragon longsword - I don't mean this derogatively, but it does signal he's not ÃÆÃâÃâüberwealthy). He says "omg, noob birds, they don't drop anything good". Amongst all the other drops, he leaves all the nats on the ground. None of the situations above apply: nats are stackable, only taking up one space. The cockatrice don't drop many better things. And about 15k for 15 mins of slaying isn't that bad. This is not the first time that I see this kind of behaviour with lower high-levels. People seem to think that now they have reached a decent level, it's so uncool to pick up "lower" stuff. What's up with this? Again, it's not a rant, because it benefits me rather than annoy me (I left with 80+ nats, my usual clue and lots of limps in no time), but I don't get it. Any thoughts on this? Has making money become so easy that people snub monster drops?

*Looks at her bank* 7 blue eggs, 13 red eggs, 9 green eggs.. I think I might make a pretty penny when the skill comes out :D Edit: after reading previous post... siiiigh, not then. Oh well, a small army of birds then.
-
I think we might finally see a use for bird's eggs. Good thing, I have about 25 in my bank... My first reaction was "oh no, I'm not ready for a new skill" - it does seem very fast after construction. I was focussing on getting 1700 skill total by New Year, guess I'll have to adjust that plan.I was quite happy with the current set-up, but I know I'm just too curious to leave the skill be. If the skill's there, I'll want to train it. I just hope it won't be a money-drainer, but a skill like agility or slayer. Slow to train, not requiring cash to speed it up.

I'm not very familiar with the Tip.It community, so I couldn't possibly hazard a guess, but it seems very unlikely that the editor is one and the same person. There must be some form of collaboration to come up with a good topic every week. Being and especially staying original on your own is very hard, you need to brainstorm with other people. The ones who are in on the secret, are quite possibly either the group of editors, or support the one person who has the capacities to write the essay.
