I read somewhere that it's based on when you finished the quest and MTK opens up to you. That moment is the changing point.

Anyone Else Have The New Account Addiction?
Sumpta replied to killmenub's topic in General Discussion
The kids I see playing RS have the same thing. They just keep creating new characters. I never got that, doesn't it get totally boring? I have just the one master account :) -
which way would you choose if u are goal for agility lvl99??
Sumpta replied to 2003iceknow2003's topic in Help and Advice
Ape Atoll is the way to go, but I'd like to correct one thing: Around 41k xp is the max xp you can get from Ape Atoll. This means constantly running (by using pots), keeping attention and not failing. Once you start failing too often, you lose lots of xp, since it's the two last obstacles that give most xp. -
The drops are rather random, like all rare drops are. I got my first dragon drop after a few 100 irons/steels mixed.

Your best and badest moment in real life in relation with RS
Sumpta replied to TheRedWay's topic in General Discussion
Best: uhh, can't relate RS to anything good in real life, actually  Worst: the week after I broke up with my last boyfriend, I spent every evening in the brimhaven arena getting 70 agility. Crying, listening to music, running in mind-numbing circles while cursing the idiot man, my only goal getting the next tag. Somehow I linked "getting over him" with "getting 70 agility". Very weird. The brimhaven agility arena is now mentally linked with my ex forever. I will never ever set foot in that place again. Thank god there is Ape Atoll! -
unusual drops? whats strange drops have you seen?
Sumpta replied to mrmyk's topic in General Discussion
Maybe not *that* strange, but I blinked several times when I got this drop, I had already killed several other trolls by the time it dawned on me and I sped to pick the drop up: Troll (lvl 69): dragon spear That explains why they hit so hard while being rather low-level I guess. -
Then I guess they don't spend a lot of time on the Dutch servers. I'm sorry, but it's really horrible. I know there are players who are made mod and speak Dutch, but I doubt they are 'language specific' mods, which means that a lot of them don't even use the Dutch servers. (And who could blame them.) Good thing about the reporting though. Had no idea Jagex could look into those reports as well. A lot of players have no idea it's possible though, most are afraid to get black marks themselves for reporting. As a result, there does seem to be a sense of lawlessness on the Dutch servers.
-
Being Flemish myself, I won't argue with that point  Nah, the English speaking Runescapers would act exactly the same as the Dutch rulebreakers if there wasn't the filter and/or the threat of getting reported. The Dutch Servers (as well as the Norwegian ones I guess) are just sort of lawless. Problem is, nobody cares, save a very small part of the RS community. :wall:

This may have been suggested before: Jagex should look specifically for player mods that speak languages different from English (of course, they should be fluent in English as well). Yesterday, I was on a Dutch server for a change, and I remembered why I never go to them, even though they should be the fastest for me: people are cussing, arguing and calling each other the worst possible names. I was really shocked by the things people were saying and I'm not that easily shocked. But you can't report them. Jagex is doing so much effort to make sure people don't break the rules, but non-native speakers can just do so at leisure. Of course, it's impossible to have mods from every language zone, but once you install a server or two in a certain zone, I think Jagex should include mods to make safe these areas. Maybe they do so, but I've yet to see them on the Dutch servers...

You're probably not going to like my answer, but nevertheless: It's too early for you to aim for a 99. Why not skill in general, taste things, try different skills out, explore the game and then settle for a skill you really like... My opinion is that people shouldn't have a goal of 99 before they reached at least 80-85 in that skill (at 85, you've still only amassed 25% of the required total experience!!!). It's only at those levels that you can assess the difficulty of achieving the longed for 99. I'm not saying this because I'm a snob, by the way, but because so many people get discouraged when they realise the vast amount of time and effort it will take them to get the 99 in question. Then they get just get bored of the game, discouraged, or stop seeing it for what it is: entertainment, not work. [/End of sermon]

While doing combat, I usually pay attention. No dying with my precious dragon skirt and such! While fletching, blowing glass, cooking,... I usually read and post here, or read fanfics, books, whatever. Or watch some dvd's. Or have a conversation with my housemate. Or eat. I never ever pay full attention to the game when doing these skills, I save them for multitasking moments. When doing agility at ape atoll, I usually watch dim-witted TV series that are so devoid of content that it doesn't matter if I miss a minute or not.

Depends on the time of day. A bowl of cereal. Pizza or spaghetti. Yeah, sometimes I eat dinner at the pc playing RS. Pretty pathetic, huh. Chocolate!!! Sometimes chips or fruits... (Great topic btw)

I love it, I'm saving up to train range. To give an idea of the spawn rate: while running around the patches to farm trees, I gathered 45 steel arrows. (In approx half an hour). Only problem is, I might never use them. I use mith arrows right now because my range is so low and I get frustrated with steel arrows. After that, I was going to move on to the crystal bow...

A Black Mask. I want to get it myself, while on task (Cave Horrors). I've killed about a thousand so far on task, gotten from say 72 to 76 slayer. Without mask. Sniff.

is it really worth it? I mean, each essence you have will get you one of those 320gp nats. minus the cost of essence Wouldn't use it for RC either, except if you take full inventory of essences and only let it generate arrows on your way back. It is useful, as Niels said, while doing agility. I'll also be using it while I'm doing my daily world tour to farm, get manage thy kingdom up,... And of course, when you're going out to range, since it gives a range bonus as well. It's a handy extra, no one ever has enough arrows.

Well, I'd never stray from my real gender, but that's because I'm a girl. There are more than enough male characters in RS already, so I'm sticking to my guns and proudly represent us women. But if I got a coin every time I got asked if I'm really a girl, I'd own a full party hat set, 3 santa's and full guthan's by now.

Nope. Not interested in being famous either, I keep to myself in the game. The idea of being a lone adventurer appeals to me, even if it means never doing kalphite queen trips or king dagannoths. But I learned heaps about the game thanks to the tip.it community.

Why people still trying to get slayer 85? :-\
Sumpta replied to Autist's topic in General Discussion
I just happen to like the skill. I get so tired of 85+ slayers trying to discourage others to get 85 as well. Regardless of the whips, I find slayer a rather lucrative skill, even at my level (76) with the drops and lvl 3 clues. It gets me lots of herbs and seeds (I'm an addict farmer/herblorist) and combat training. I'm aiming to max out combat through slayer (in a year or 10 :XD:) Also, if you combine said skills (farming, herblore, slayer), you can get the necessary potions at no cost to tackle some of the tougher monsters such as steel dragons. Let me repeat this: at no cost! I rake in rune stuff whenever I get metal dragons as a task, even an occasional dragon drop. Not profitable? Not fast training? Perhaps not if profit and/or speed are your only goal, but I'm quite pleased with my RS income 8-) And yes, rc or fletching may get you more money, but they also happen to be deadly boring skills. -
The Tip It Construction guide says that any kind of incense burners (even oak) will do to get the full bonus.

Mud staff? Don't you mean Lava staff? (Aren't the dagg. kings the only droppers of mud staves?) He means lava  . At your level I strongly recommend skipping them, they hit hard on me and I have 70 range, 80 magic and 76 defence. You're just toast after 2 kills. Yes I meant lava, oops. My mistake. And I'm a she, not a he :D.
-
I always do them. With the right prayer gear, you don't waste all that many pots on them, because they die quick. The occasional mystic and mud staff makes them worthwhile I find. Then again, I'm also a huge fan of metal dragons. So yeah.

I concentrate on skill total on the short term, because I feel aiming for a 99 is just plain insane as a goal. I know there are people who have the dedication to get there in just a few weeks, but I just lack that certain brand of psyche. Also, I'd hate having one 99 and lots of 'bad' skills. My penchant for[/i] 'hard' skills (agility, farming, herblore by obtaining herbs, not buying them, crafting...) doesn't really help either, I'm not so daft as to aim for 99's right now. Nevertheless, in the long run, I know I'll be getting one or two 99's in a year or so, simply by training on as I am training now. I also have in mind to max out combat through slayer, but that is a goal spread over the next few years...

I don't know what i'm doing wrong (Depressed Player)
Sumpta replied to Destrahl's topic in Help and Advice
I'm afraid the simple truth is that money is what drives most players. They want to be seen wearing barrows, dragon items at the lowest level possible, to be "cool". These people of your level that are decked out in precious items have probably put twice as much time into the game already. Are you a member? From your stats I'd say no, but you do talk of dragon armour. I'm not that good at making money myself, so I couldn't give you that much advice. A good thing to do, however, is to "multitask". Always have herbs growing while you're making money elsewhere. Options (short-term): - woodcutting: yews and magic logs are good money, if you combine it with fletching, you could high-alch yourself into wealth (once you've got the nature runes) - fishing lobsters, mining iron ores - if your range is okay, range blue dragons - grow ranarrs and sell prayer pots.. even though they are drastically dropping in price. I made my first few millions to get me started... In the longer run, you can get together a lot of money by investing your time wisely. Yes, you could go out and do wc till you drop down and have a whip to show off. But what will it leave you with? A lot of people claim slayer is no longer a money-maker. Nonsense. I'm not 85 yet and nevertheless I can maintain myself nicely with all the slayer drops. And on top of that, I'm actually gaining xp in all combat skills. A whole lot more useful than just getting wc in the 90's without any other extra non-money profit. Anyway. Just play the way you want to. Don't let your level peers push you into a gameplay you don't like yourself. -
which out of all 99 skill capes would you wear? with results
Sumpta replied to benisfab's topic in General Discussion
Prayer, slayer and agility because of the sheer coolness of getting 99 in that particular skill and the rarity of the cape. Purely fashionwise, I really like the colours of the fletching and cooking capes.
