  1. Do you have any idea how many hours you have played in total? Do you want to know? How do you feel about your accomplishments? Good, neutral or hollow? Edit: seems like a very nice idea to compile the questions and send them to N0valyfe and to another still-playing RS top player - and then put the asnwers next to each other. I think you'd get widely different answers.
  2. Ahh, new agility course for high levels. Goody goody, have been waiting for such a thing to get me rolling again... might make me finally get that craved for 81 agility.
  3. I don't. I really need all the blood I have, I have a history of low blood pressure and fainting, so it just wouldn't be the smartest move. Whenever I need to let the doctor take blood, I almost pass out as well... Otherwise, I'd do it, even though it would mean getting over the sickish feeling I always get in the pit of my stomach when having blood 'drained'.
  4. Nadril, I am your god damn father. Apinagez's arrogance blinds him. Join me. So you can rule the internets together? On topic: I've worn braces in a dark past for 2 years. Not a year after removing them, my teeth stood just as crooked as before, because of my wisdom teeth, which had to be removed. Yeah, you wouldn't believe it, but I actually have a very small mouth :P
  5. RS accomplishments often feel hollow to me. Can't explain why. I've often already set a new goal before I reached the original one. Got my third dragon spear a week ago and went like "Oh. Look. A dragon spear. Right. ... Ooooh, dinner's ready." Time for a bit of a break for a while, I think.
  6. Vampire bat. In my days at university, I woke up when it got dark and went to bed at the crack of dawn. Sadly, that's not possible anymore, since I'm a working girl these days. Still, I usually only start at 10 am... and every time when I have holidays I tend to relapse in my old patterns.

    Consequences

What the? :-s "She wants you, take her now?" Did we just get warped back into the stone age in the blink of an eye? On topic: violence is not the answer, as you said, it'll have more negative consequences. Either try to make fun of him in some way (very humiliating) or ignore him. Nose in the air, "excuse me, do I know you, sir?" That always drives these kinds of idiots mad.
  8. Well, my point of view may sound radical, but I believe there's truth in it. Most of the time, suicides seem to happen "out of the blue". Nobody, not even wives, children, parents,... see it coming. You often hear stories in the line of "yeah, we knew he/she was feeling depressed, but we never could have guessed it was this bad". Most of the time, people who shout out they're contemplating to kill themselves, will not actually do it. They are still communicating, calling out for help, which shows there's still a wish to live. Some people, and to me they are the most lowly kind, use threats of suicide whenever they don't get their way or to draw attention. It's blackmail and it's disgusting. Posting on a board falls in category 2 and 3. In the former, it's a bit sad and it does seem the wrong place for it, if they do it here exclusively (it's different if they also talk to counselors, family, friends at the same time). In the latter, it's plain sad. I myself would encourage to keep these kind of threads away from the boards. None of us are really qualified to help the people with real problems and we shouldn't take the BS from people who seek attention.
  9. No. World 92 was my homeworld up till now. I'm starting to get major lag on it, though, so I might try out 99 a few times. Trouble is, I'm multitasking 3/4 of my time (watching TV, reading, browsing boards,...), so I prefer to go to quiet worlds with all chats off. Couldn't do that on w99 because I'd offend everybody by ignoring them.
  10. To the above posters. No, haven't seen Bringing up Baby yet, but it's on my wishlist for my next order at Amazon. I really like the genre, so I'm guessing I'll like it... We'll see. How2Pk, I'm suprised you didn't think Roma as good as the other Fellini's. That scene from your pic (the Roman fresco's fading away as they come in contact with the air) is probably the most powerful Fellini scene I have seen so far. It's the one I remember best from all his films in any case. I've just seen Le M̮̩̉̉pris. I'm sort of on the fence, but merely the fact that Fritz Lang (<3:) played himself made me love it already - and he really did get the best lines. I also liked it from a "hey, those are some very cool 60's designs" perspective - not very intellectual, I know. As an ex-student in Greek literature, I was impressed with the analogy with and the take on Ulysses though. Bardot's sneaky looks and pouts hit the mark, but overall, even though I can see why it's an important film for cinematic history, I doubt it'll become a real favourite of mine.
  11. Sorry if this is a completely useless post, but this discussion is really going around in circles...
  12. Summer days when I was 18. Man, I feel old.
  13. I'm all for the EU and proud European. However, I have the feeling the EU are overstretching themselves. Too many countries are joining in at a ratio which is too high. I sincerely hope this won't blow up in our face. More countries means more possibilities for the use of veto, which is very obstructive. Also, a lot of Europeans hate some of the European legislation, which they believe is too far-fetched. In referenda, the French and Dutch said no to a European Constitution, so the whole design and proposed text for such a constitution have been thrown away... A lot of problems are blaimed upon the EU instead of the local legislation. (Cfr. post above mine, lol) In short, there's a long way to travel yet.
  14. I do think it's a bit naive to excuse the Pythons from making fun of christianity/religion/Jesus... They were kicking [wagon], shocking the good citizens and they knew and loved it...
  15. I love it. Shows that there are clergymen who can take a bite. However, it also shows how far away the members of Monty Python have gotten from their original goal. Their humour used to be shocking, gritty and controversial - and they loved it. Nowadays, they're part of popular culture, canonised. Some of them must shudder at this kind of news and feel very very old :)
  16. Yeah, that's really a mature way of discussing, ignoring the things you don't want to hear and replying to the people who think you're right. I did answer you, and to the point, but you choose not to listen or even consider what I or Rush or anyone who gives a different opinion says. Hitler does sound like the perfect role model for you. Blech, I'm done with this thread.
  17. There's only one place in the whole of the USA I could consider living in at the moment... and that would be NYC. Love that city!
  18. You have made the mother of all mistakes: telling me not do to something and threatening me on top of it. Bad manners and disregarding my tendency to do just that what I'm told not to do. (As you can see, there are remnants of the teenager in me as well.) 1. I do not assume all teenagers are suicidal. However, your post does remind me of the way how a teenager looks at the word: a tad overdramatical and very self-involved. I admit that I am arrogant, can you? (Reread your lines "Ever wondered what is wrong with the world? Well, I'm going to explain it".) 2. I never said you were suicidal. I never said teenagers are suicidal. Haven't a thing more to say about that. 3. I do have my reasons to live and apart from my highly personal ones which I'd rather not share with you or anybody else I don't know, it is very easy. I wouldn't want to be dead. Really, sometimes things can be as simple as that. 4. Oh. Right. Oops. Report me. 5. Cfr 3, I have given my point of view. Don't get me wrong, I've been there. Life's work work work and what for? Once you're 30, things can never get better anymore etc. etc. But in the end, I find that that is just fanciful, angsty and semi-intellectual cabbage that won't get you a step further. I wouldn't want to miss out on any of the boring stuff, the good stuff, the bad stuff, the whacky stuff... Because the best feeling you can have once in a while is exactly the feeling of being completely alive. The alternative (being dead) is not very appealing. And you see, that time will come soon enough anyhow.
  19. Nah, more like: Congratulations, you are now officially a teenager.
  20. Funny how he thinks of the repercussions and not his actions. God I hope that kid drops the soap. Many, many times. Yes, he does sound like the thief who regrets being caught, but isn't the least bit sorry for his thieving.
  21. Quitting either Runescape and/or Tip.It does seem to be the new black. It amuses me how people can make such a big deal about it. Remember when N0valyfe quit? My my, that was quite the buzz for a few weeks. Oh well. Many prefer going out with a big bang to slowly fading away. We are very vain beings after all. I, for one, can't pass a mirror without looking in it. Hey, there's an idea for a poll for the OT forum!
  22. The autumn/spring breeze kissing my skin.
  23. A pity about migration is the psychological effect it has on the immigrants. This goes for all nationalities: immigrants often cling to their original culture and language as a way of defining themselves. This is true for many of the Turkish immigrants in my country: they are fiercer in maintaining their traditions than many of the Turks who live in Turkey themselves. As another poster said, it's very obvious with Brits and Americans as well, who build little societies abroad where they insist on remaining Brits/Americans. I think it's important that immigrants learn the language of the country where they go to live. How else will they ever integrate themselves, find jobs,... Also, there are many problems with second-generation immigrants: they grow up learning about the local language and culture, but can only communicate with their parents in their original language. This really alienates these kids from both their old as their new culture.
  24. I haven't the faintest idea what this is all about, since I don't belong to any long-time in-crowd thingy, but all of this sure looks silly to me. And not a cool kind of silly, but the *shudder* high school intrigue kind. But yeah, whatever.
