  1. Oh boohoo. Cheapscape? Jagex is not forcing you to do these treasure trails or standing ready with a whip and chloroform to punish you severely if you ditch the clue scrolls. You'll want to get your agility up at some point anyway, so why not now. You have a great incentive: loot! And gnome stronghold and barbarian really aren't that much of a hassle. Getting your agility from 20 to 35 is a piece of cake. Put on some music, look for a friend to join you, spend a few hours of mindless laps and you'll be happy with your newly gained ability.
  2. Huh? The safes don't have respawn time. You can just stay put and thieve at leisure... I have thieved about 1k of gems from those safes, never moved an inch. Well, except to bank, obviously.
  3. ...and the result is that the actual discussion about the new update has ended... :wall: So, any brave folks out there who have ventured into the pyramid yet?
  4. I use the three iron rocks west of falador. Only a short run and a wall hop away from the smaller western bank.
  5. Well if I'm either, I am number 1. Both should be respected, but I favour skill total. For example, many people have very high combat (and thus very high xp total), but they're lousy at the other skills. Yet they get all the respect for being 120 cb. And no, I'm not implying that cb 120 is not great, because of course it is! But being an all-rounder is respectable as well, since it means you know a little about everything and have endured in some of the harder skills. Some skills are just too easy to get up with good cash. Who's to say that number 2 put that much more time in his skills? What if he bought all his logs and got fletching skyhigh in a few days? Other skills (agility, thieving e.g.) are impossible to buy and deserve everyone's respect.

    Thieving

I haven't done the new quest yet myself, but I'd advise you to get as many quests done that give thieving XP, because thieving is a slow skill to get started with, but it gets real fast once you have a higher level. Once you reach thieving 38, go farmers all the way till you get 55. The great advantage of master farmers is that you don't have the right-click 'pickpocket farmer' hassle: you can just click the farmers. You'll end up with loads and loads of sweetcorn and other seeds to get you some nice farming xp. After that, things get real easy. Thieve knights and gems in the rogue's den and the occasional silver/spice/fur stall. Variation is your friend: you'll get the highest xp from thieving knights all the way, but you'll get a sore wrist in the progress. I have a "thieving round" in ardougne. Less xp, but I can do it for hours. I start out on the market, where I steal cakes and silver. Then I run to the castle, thieve paladins (and change to knights when I get frustrated with getting hit all the time). When I have 100 chaos from the paladins my food is usually gone, so I run upstairs, pick the locks, thieve the lvl 72 chests. They transport you to east ardougne, close to the bank, allowing you to store the goodies and go back to the market place for some more cakes. Rinse and repeat for good cash and decent xp (about 35k xp/hour and stuff worth 110k+/hour)
  7. Well, I guess I'm 1/8 then. Typical. Connecting to the server has been problematic for me ever since yesterday evening. Oh well.
  8. Mmm, this may be a completely insane suggestion, but how about: don't play? I mean, if it bores you, why not go do something else with your time?
  9. Mm, I see an incentive to raise my thieving a bit further...
  10. I have around 2000 from ectoing zogre and ancient ogre bones. Have enough stocked up to get 2000 more. No way I'm dropping them... even though I'm not sure if it is very likely Jagex will ever implement a use for them. Has it ever been hinted at that they would, or is it mere speculation?
  11. Okay, thanks for all the info! This helps a lot. The cav would be purely for looks, though? Or do they have some unseen power to them that I am not aware of? :P
  12. It's not restricted to the 2 mill... I can get more money, I'd just like to know what to save for... What are the prices of obby shield and berserker helm?
  13. Hi everyone, I'm in the process of making myself some money (atm I have 2 mill) to get some decent weapons and armour. Right now, I only have full rune + dragon longsword. I never needed more so far, since I got my combat skills mostly in f2p and used my member time to get some skilling done. I'm not at home in the whole barrows, dragon armour and what have you, so I'd like your advice, fellow tip.it'ers and seasoned warriors. You can base your advice on my stats (see sig). What would I like to do with the armour? Well erm, use it (in contrast with showing off), especially to get my slayer up and who knows, eventually venture on a barrows trip or two and in the long run fight caves? (I'm a sissy, I don't do stuff until I know I can win :P) What I definitely had in mind already is a whip...
  14. Let's make an on-topic contribution as well :) . If you range, you should do rather well without huge stacks of food. ust take along what you need for some mild "I have to go fetch my arrows" damage. With your stats (man, I can only dream of those cb stats...), blue drags should not pose many troubles, no matter which method you chose. Melee will require food, but not anything higher than lobs, I'd say. As for pots: anti-fire pots can be good if you melee. I wouldn't waste your prayer pots and supersets on them...
  15. After the quest just talk to them and you'll be fine. Thank you for the info! That's great news, I'm in serious bank-space trouble!
  16. Slightly off-topic, I have a question about the Watchtower: do you need to hang on to the ogre relic to get into the enclave every time or is it safe to ditch it?
  17. Do you still play runescape? Yes Do you think you have a life? Well, I have a full-time job, many friends, I organise some cultural events in my spare time, follow dancing courses, I love reading, watching films, going to the theatre etc. RS is just one of the many things I do in my spare time... So do I have a life: yes. Do I like it: yes, though some personal stuff is clouding the sky at the moment. RS is good to get away from it from time to time. Do you agree with what i'm saying? RS can be addictive, yes. Many have quit because of this. Moderation is something we all have to learn in the course of our lives. In all things, not just RS. I's no use whining that we are wasting our lives. After all, we all give meaning to it in our own ways and according to our own tastes. Don't judge.
  18. I'm quite happy. I've been playing since October last year and got myself some half-decent stats... I'm curious to see where I'll be when I've played my first full year.
  19. Yay for THE FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS! Have you seen his first feauture NÃÆÃââââ¬ÃâZ W WODZIE (Knife in the Water). That one's really good as well, and together with Repulsion and Cul-de-sac my favorite Polanski. I haven't seen it, haven't even heard of it. I've seen most of the "mainstream" Polanksi (Bitter Moon, Rosemary's Baby, The Pianist,...) But I'm very curious, I like the Polanski from before the Sharon Tate-trauma. Is it available somehow, somewhere?
  20. I am from Belgium. And yes, it's also where I am residing now. Additional comments: it's a nice country, Belgium.
  21. I recently saw Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette. It was disappointing. Visually very pretty, with some memorable scenes, but story- and rhythmwise, it was a mess. I am very fond of the Virgin Suicides, but both this film and Lost in Translation disappointed because of their shallowness (is that a word?). I just never get the impression that Coppola goes beyond the surface. It worked for the mystery of The Virgin Suicides, but it annoys in this film.
  22. From the ones already mentioned I pick: David Lynch Fritz Lang (Metropolis! Whoa! Double whoa! I'm so happy to read that others have seen the film too...) Tim Burton Federico Fellini (Roma all the way) Alfred Hitchcock I add: Roman Polanski (with specific mention of the almost forgotten The Fearless Vampire Killers) Milos Forman (Amadeus, The People versus Larry Flint, One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, Valmont) And perhaps William Wyler (the man behind Ben-Hur, Roman Holiday, but most especially Wuthering Heights, which blew me away with its sheer raw passion... it made me appreciate older films. Quite often they are far more daring, imaginative and surprising than the films today)
  23. I'd certainly still play. My private chat is off most of the time anyway. I got tons of names on my list, I just hardly talk to them. I do like conversations in places where I'm mining, doing agility etc though.
  24. Star Wars! And (not just films, also series): The Avengers (the series, not the horrid film) Twin Peaks The Third Man Miami Vice...
  25. Mmm I liked that film... It's obviously not really a horror film or a thriller. It wasn't frightening. It wasn't even spooky, true. But it had an eerie quality that I really liked a lot.
