Discuss what you think of PCing to 99 prayer.
Sumpta replied to A8800123's topic in General Discussion
I've done a few 100 points at PC, but I'm not overly fond of the game. I go there when I want a few mage levels and it's truly a countdown for me, no matter how fast it goes. Only the Affliction comraderie keeps me going. I just don't dig PC, even with its incredible rewards (fastest XP + decent amount of coins). I'd rather max out combat through slayer, even if it's going to take a year or two. Or three, hum. Oh okay, it's likely I'll never get there, but who cares. Oh and why do you mind so much that this topic is in help and advice? It's good for people who are looking for info whether to use PC or ecto to get prayer up, so it seems to be in the right place to me. -
Trouble Brewing; Homage to the most underrated minigame
Sumpta replied to Ts_Stormrage's topic in General Discussion
Thank you for pointing out the existence of this minigame. I checked it out tonight... and I simply love it! Well, at least after a very very confusing first game  I only like it when the whole team tries their best though. I ended up in a few games with a crowd of people who just gathered buckets of water all the time. And silly me running around to get all the ingredients and getting very few PoE. Won't be doing that again... I also winded up in some sort of war between the two teams, with talk of breaking each other's legs in 32 wildy. Not the warm, fuzzy atmosphere I read about in this topic. It's sad how a bunch of idiots can ruin something that is soooo much fun. -
whats the worst time you have had connection loss??
Sumpta replied to mrmyk's topic in General Discussion
Boohoo, just now, while mining mithril I got a rock thingy monster gollum what's its name. Lag, connection loss while running away, back in Falador. Lost: mime top, shade bottom, black beret, glory, ring of wealth. Don't care much about the stuff I can get back easily, but I was very very attached to the mime top and the beret. I always wore them when skilling... Oh well, time for a new skilling outfit then, I guess. Might try to get black naval to match my pirate's hat I got from trails the other day. -

Always have farmers looking after your trees. It makes things so easy. Plant a tree, pay the farmer, log off or do other stuff in RS without worries and come back 15 hours later for a nice amount of xp. To get apples fast, start the quest Recipe for Disaster. It's a quest in ten parts, for every part you complete, you get more access to the chest. The first few quest parts are very easy. You also get access to the best gloves in the game and a lot of other foods that are useful in herblore/farming/cooking. If you complete the quest, you get a stock of 50 apples! Buy baskets, fill them up. Another way to get apples is in the farming store in Ardougne. There's an apple respawn there (free and easy, but oh so slow). You could also plant an apple tree in Catherby and pick apples. Or do a combination of all the options above. You'll be rolling in apples

You could do it. The problem in monkey madness isn't the demon, but the whole process of getting your Monkey Greegree. Bring lots of prayer pots, food and super energy's to help you through the impossible tunnel. You get hit every few seconds with falling debris, there are some high-level monsters who continually attack you, and there are traps in the floor. No fun.

I can only speak for myself, but I found the drop rate way too low as well. I switched back to one or two-hitting chaos druids to get my herbs. Lots faster. The only real interest in those keys are the torstols.

This is correct. Calquat is one of the special trees in farming and requires 72 farming. You can make kegs from the calquat fruit.

23 October 2006 - Would you like to see My Arm?
Sumpta replied to Bashful's topic in General Discussion
Completely off-topic, for which I apologise, but I just have to say this: :3> I loooooove Heroes of Might and Magic :3> RS reminds me a lot of the whole Might and Magic series... -
Weekdays: 0 to 2 hours Weekend: 0 to 8 hours Really depends on how much free time I have to spend. These days, I haven't got much time, causing me to play an hour between 1 am and 2 am... not healthy :D
-
I don't really feel that the quests need to be that much harder, but I would like to see a quest that needs really really good skills (like 80 agility or 75 defense, for example, oh, I can just picture the rants ) with a reward that is -according to the requirements- really worthwhile. Not some junk clogging up bank space.

These kind of stories just make me want to quit. You put so much time and effort in a character... and it can be destroyed in seconds because of stupid mistakes. And you're just powerless, nothing to be done about it. Instead of thinking "yay, I'm gonna have some fun playing RS tonight", I'm starting to get scared when I log in. Being kind to people (identifying herbs for example) can get you a black mark (happened to muskee, who posted this a few days ago), a stupid mistake by Jagex could get you banned, ignoring silly, threadbare and impolite questions can get you marked,... Yipes. I don't mind following the rules and I don't mind that rulebreakers get banned, but this randomness scares me.
-
Lol, yes, that used to be true. But I don't get the assignments often any more and never in those huge numbers. Jagex has set things right and now I find I really enjoy the metal dragon tasks. Getting the same tasks over and over again is annoying with any monster, in my opinion. I do slayer because it's so varied. As for mage versus melee, each to their own, I guess. I'm somewhat of a herblorist, so I make all my prayer pots and anti-fires myself from herbs I farm and get through slayer. For me, the melee method is faster, cheaper and more fun than magic.

I would like to do pest control, but noobs take it over. Does anyone know where the pest control official world is? When you're lvl 90, you can join PC groups, such as Affliction. Before that, they are the ones that will consider you a noob :)

If you want the seeds for farming xp, it's better to go for maples. For every 100 maples, you get 1 bird's nest. Most of them contain tree seeds. I've got 4 spirit tree seeds so far!!! Well, not that I can do anything with them (77 farming), but hey.
-
You need to max out in 4 combat skills, not 6. So melee would need 99 hp, str, att and prayer. Anyhow, insane goal. I'm working from 104 to 111 (ahh the beauty of that number) and thought I was setting myself a crazy goal... Most 126's you meet have been playing for a few solid years. Pest Control eases it somewhat, but gets seriously boring after a while.

I skip bronze because of the wild dogs, but when I get iron or steel drags, I do a happy dance! Just melee them with prayer, proselyte, whip, rune defender, black mask if you have it (I dont, boohoo, I killed about 2k cave horrors!) and anti-fire pots. It's not very fast xp, but then again, what dragon except for the green one is? You get a good deal of rune drops and a not too bad chance of dragon items.

All quests complete: How Impressive? Take a look.
Sumpta replied to iwatake's topic in General Discussion
I think it is definitely an achievement. Doing all the quests not only takes a lot of time, but also a good all-round character. You need to have reasonable stats in most of the skills. If the quests are done properly (with no or sensible use of guides - and sensible would not be click-click-click-without-reading), you also have RS players who have been to all corners of the RS map, who know a lot about the history/background and the people/races in the world. In other words, you get players who are quite immersed in the RS world. Spending hours in some bank fletching won't get you this kind of knowledge of the game. Quest cape owners earn a lot of respect. As much as the 99 cape owners. -

SwordFish666's Guide To ALL Skill Cape Anims! [WARNING 56K]
Sumpta replied to Swordfish666's topic in General Discussion
Hmm, the thieving one is a bit of a disappointment to me (compared to the others). I'm very curious about the agility cape. I'd love to have 99 agility... only 188 hours Ape Atoll to go... :wall: -
If you're really bored, there's not really much sense in playing... But I don't agree that money making is the focus of RS. Lots of players go for the DIY-way or just play to have fun, never owning that much cash. There are so many things to do. Not just skilling, but doing all the minigames, quests,... Maybe you could set yourself some goals to keep you going. But as I said, something is a bit wrong if you have to motivate yourself to play a game.

Trouble Brewing; Homage to the most underrated minigame
Sumpta replied to Ts_Stormrage's topic in General Discussion
Hmm, never tried the game. Maybe I should give it a go. Is there a world (official or not) for the game? Nvm, found the info. World 104 apparently, for those who wondered. -
Lol, true enough, but my point was really that they're fixing it. Don't go berserk just yet, the cape is probably not lost for all eternity.
-
It happened to me as well... wore Quest Cape, logged out and when I logged in it was gone. A while later the cape reappeared in my inventory. So, they're fixing it. Not to worry...
