...:::Runescape Real Life Episodes (parodies):::...
Iantiger replied to theKid951's topic in General Discussion
Brilliant! I love them. My favourite parts are when you guys are all standing there stabbing the sand with your harpoons trying to fish (lol!) and when that guy runs into some church altar to recharge his prayer! Definitely the best Runescape parodies I've seen. Great job on the props, really believable. Let me know if you produce anymore, they're a joy to watch. ~Ian -
Why would it be though? If one player has a dragon scimitar and the other has a bronze longsword, and both players are fighting in the wilderness, you could say that's "unfair". The fact of the matter is that when you enter the wilderness you are informed that you may well die, and lose all your items, so if you want to minimize that risk, you should come as well equipped and prepared as possible, whether that is through better items or better stats, anything is a 'fair cop' in the wildy. ~Ian

But, that's what I hate, Pures just like autoers take up Highscores! It's very mean to people like me. A person with no stat except CRAFTING which isn't a very used stat. :( An autoer is NOT a pure, and has nothing to do with pures. They are two completely different concepts and confusing them like that is a fatal mistake. You don't have to be a pure character to use macroing softwae. ~Ian

Ignoring all the way. You can usually spot a noob with telltale signs like poor grammar, or poor spelling in general, leet speak with the purpose of looking cool (although I think that's getting less common these days). Sometimes they start following you before they've even said a word, and then you can almost predict the next words they say are "Can I buy/have your armor?" or "Do you got any stuff I can have?", etc, etc. The most annoying type of noob I'm encountering at the moment are the high levelled hunters who log onto the patch I'm currently trapping, try stealing my chins, then when they realise I completely own them, they have the cheek to call ME the noob, and log out. If someone displays these signs I usually avoid talking to them altogether, or just give simple direct responses like "Yes", "No" or "Idk". Only when they prove otherwise that they're either a normal player, or a poor newb who really does need some help, will I give him or her the time of day 8-) ~Ian

I know that I made my pure def char because I want to wow people when they see a level 18 with dragon armour. Different people with different pures have different reasons. ~Ian

I agree with Paw Claw; gdawg, you need a more original name for yourself first  It's a good idea though, there have been loads of times when I've struggled to think of a name for a new character which I think sounds good enough. ~Ian

You know a lot of these sort of topics exist in the RSC General Board ~Ian

Weekly Poll: Which operating system do you use?
Iantiger replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
Seems like a lot of people are still using good ole XP. I reckon it will take a couple of years for the majority to migrate to Vista; my experience with the latter tells me it was released prematurely, and wasn't properly tested. On another note, i'm a bit surprised Mac OS and Linux have been lumped into the same option, they're not really the same thing. ~Ian -
I've heard about some guy that got 99 prayer, then used Pest Control to get 99 in all other stats, thus remaining 10 hitpoints. That's got to be a pretty exclusive achievement, although replicable with a lot of hard work. ~Ian

Log out of Runescape, put some music on, and watch an episode of Family Guy 8-) ~Ian

I wish I was as mature at 13 years old as you are Wenlok! ~Ian

I recently turned 20, but I don't seem to get much prejudice thankfully. On the rare occasion that somebody asks my age and I tell them, they usually say "Really?" or "lol i'm only 14" or something like that. In fact recently I've noticed an increase in the maturity of your average young player, but then I've probably just been fortunate, and ignored anybody that shows some sort of immaturity (i.e.: starts the conversation with noob). ~Ian

I think this update is a great idea! Finally, a practical solution to combat the luring scams. It's hardly much effort to click on the ditch if you are used to RCing a lot, or just generally pking. Everybody wins, except the scammers. Which is good :D ~Ian

Please, log in and take some screenshots of your game window, and post them here, just in case the problem is something trivial. Is there anything more you can tell us, anything that might help us help you? ~Ian

As Bubsa said. Check your public chat is turned to "On", at the bottom of the main playing window. This is a fansite forum, so there's really nothing we can do for you here. Try to contact Jagex by sending them a query. They'll take a while to respond, but will be of much more use than we can unless you give us some screenshots or more details of your problem. ~Ian

Me and a friend chilling were chilling out in Falador. This guy comes up to us. Guy: Will you be my friend? Friend: Sure Guy: You too? Me: Yeah ok Friend: Do you have many friends? Guy: I have 28 friends Friend: Wow that's a lot of friends Me: Omg no way, 28 friends?! That is a lot! Guy: Yeah I know Guy: I have a lot of friends *Me and Friend leave* Seemed funny at the time, but we were a bit mean to him for taking the mick like that. Just the other day I was training on a level 3 skiller, doing hunter (chinchompas). I had been at chins on this world for ages, then suddenly this level 9x logs in next to me. Noob: Hey noob *silence as I carry on hunting* Noob: Hunt level? Noob: Stealing my chins? *silence as I carry on hunting Noob: Yeah well I own you tbh *pause while I still hunt, ignoring him *Noob logs off* Now if it was only that simple to get rid of all unpleasant people... ~Ian

I agree misterxman does make the hawtest signatures around. I also really, REALLY like mine. I remember back when it was legal, I held a signature competition on these boards and others, and the winner (can't remember who made it now) got 10k essence or a similar amount. There were some really good entries, but I loved the whole gothic look of this particular one. ~Ian

I played six years ago but I don't recollect your name. Look out for my journal coming soon; I hope to document my Runescape career thus far, with a healthy dose of old-skool pics thrown in for good measure. ~Ian

How old is your character in human years?
Iantiger replied to Google90's topic in General Discussion
Now hold on, that formula doesn't make sense. As time goes on, people are going to age exponentially slower. Example: A year after Runescape has been released, somebody has created a new character. Therefore the character is 0 years old. A year on, the character is 40 years old by your formula. Another year on, the character is 53 years old. The next year 60, the year after that 64. And unless you started playing the day Runescape came out, you're never going to reach 80, instead just get very close to it; in this case 80 is what is known as a mathematical asymptote. A more sensible formula would be to say that the average player plays Runescape for 4 years before quitting (which represents death) and so the formula for human lifespan would be 80/4 * the number of years you have been playing. Your formula makes my character 68ish years old. My formula puts my character at 120. Sounds stupid, but a player who has been around half as long as me (3 years) would be 60 years old which is correct as that is exactly half the age, whereas with your formula, such a player would be 45, which is quite a bit over half. ~Ian -
Tip.It Times Presents: The Price is Right! Or is it?
Iantiger replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
Interesting article. Not being a US citizen, the random references to prohibition and whatnot went completely over my head. Other than that, the article held my interest. I didn't feel compelled to skip over some paragraphs as I usually do because I can predict their word-for-word content. Having been away from the game for some time recently, I was actually quite surprised to hear about these price drops. At least rare prices have stabilised giving a lot of players (myself included) substantial chance to get ourselves back into the market. ~Ian -
Total playing time over all my characters: I would estimate it to be in the region of 100-150 days worth of playing time. Scary really! I could be a prolific drummer, instead of being the owner of a level 108 Runescape account, had I used all that time for drumming instead of playing Runescape And I've never even touched a drum kit... ~Ian

Ooops, thanks for spotting that typo for me. Thanks for the feedback. Does anybody else have any input? ~Ian

We all know that training different skills results in a different variety and popularity of randoms (example: getting a lot of evil chickens, strange plants and drunken dwarves whilst training combat). I would like to know, from your experience, which skill results in the most Genie Lamp randoms. My friend said he gets a fair few when spinning flax, and I would like to hear what you can tell me from your experience. Thanks all, ~Ian

Moved to Computer Tech. You will have a better chance of getting help there. ~Ian

A realistic guess for me would be 50~100, although I have no idea to be honest. http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?times=28 - Duke Freedom estimates there are around 200 crackers left in the game (created a little over a year ago). He's usually right about these things! As far as these people who supposedly quit with x-amount of crackers on their account, it's got to be a no pic, no proof policy as far as I'm concerned. ~Ian
