  1. Good point BBC3. He must have been honoured when Jagex uploaded that page, and saw his name staring back at him from the screen. I know it would have freaked me out. Talking of rare names I saw somebody named simply "H" the other day... ~Ian
  2. Unless i've misinterpreted the rule, it might be said that by having one of your accounts act as a scout for the other, classifies as account interaction, and is therefore a bannable offence. ~Ian
  3. I've changed my character's appearance quite a number of times in the past. When I first started in classic, I chose the appearance that might resemble me as closely as possible (brown hair, blue shirt, black trousers). Then I joined a clan where everybody looked identical, and had to change my look to join. After I left that clan, I went back to my original look, and then a couple of years ago I changed to white hair, and experimented with the flare trousers, and the ones where they are tucked into the boots of the character. I also liked the baggy shirt, and eventually chose a blue shirt, and beige trousers... I think my character looks pretty cool like that. ~Ian
  4. WARNING: PICTURES OF REWARD BELOW! An old friend (see below post) and me completed the event together. Here's a few pics 8-) Great fun all in all! :P ~Ian
  5. Probably right now, I have a little over 14 mil. I think that's a personal best. ~Ian
  6. I disagree that all new players (and many experience players) who enter the wild know the risk. I can also justify it. New players when they go pking expect someone of a similar low level to be of a similar experience in the game to which they are. They do not automatically expect that a low level player is indeed a highly experience player on a new account equipped with the best combination of items and weapons. When they get massacred and loss or their items they did not know the true risk they were facing. By "risks involved" I mean that when you enter the wilderness, and you get the read the warning sign, you know there is a good chance you will lose some, if not all of your items, and you then accept that risk and walk into the wildy. You cannot quantify something like that: i.e. "I thought there was only a 20% chance I was going to lose my items and in fact there was an 80% chance!". The warning sign clearly indicates there is "a chance". Period. It matters not whether you are a new player or an old player, you have accepted the risks. If you come up against somebody more experienced than you, that is your fault for not being properly prepared and can be hardly attributed to your opponent for being 'decieptful'. ~Ian
  7. All questions to help and advice in the future ;) ~Ian
  8. I personally find the full mime the nicest to look at, but I'd rather wear my own combo. ~Ian
  9. I personally love training in Edge dungeon on F2P. Perhaps the skeletons would suit your level, or perhaps the hobgoblins or giants if you're feeling adventurous but then can sometimes be crowded. You could also try venturing down to the ice caves on the south coast and try the hobgoblins there. ~Ian
  10. I favour the iron mine near yanille. 3 rocks, all that's needed is 1 step to the left then back again to get all three rocks. Yanille bank can be used, or you can powermine. But I've heard granite is awesome exp so go for that if you wish. ~Ian
  11. This is officially the oldest pic I can find on my hard drive: my computer has dated it 25th August 2002. I wish I had some of the pics from even further before this. That's me in the addy! ~Ian
  12. Pking is benefiting from another player when he or she knows the risks involved. Luring/scamming or otherwise decieving is player is just that... decieving a player, and this is stated to be against the rules. If you want to play an 'evil' persona then you will end up getting yourself banned. This game is not about good vs evil; if you like to do that, I suggest you find another game. This game is about community, and working together with your in-game friends. ~Ian
  13. Good point, I know how passionately you feel about Jagex previous stance on this issue, and rightly so. ~Ian
  14. I know a few good names that might stir some memories: xXCavalierxX Omegawytch/56Warrior Galaxyg Absolute legends. ~Ian
  15. I think it's a good thing that Jagex have seen the error of their previous statement and reversed their position on the matter of luring, albeit after such a long time. In the time it's taken them to decide to change their position, many people have been victims of lures and the scammers who should have been banned are still walking freely. I believe it is Jagex's job to make swift decisions and to recognise these new scams as quickly as possible and in my opinion that recognition did not come anywhere near as quickly enough as it should have done. ~Ian
  16. Guthix all the way baby! I think following guthix is a good representation of my real life agnostic views. Please note that I'm not branding all Guthix followers as agnostics. ~Ian
  17. Welcome to the boards! Questions belong in the Help and Advice board, so I'll just move this over there for you - please bare this in mind in the future. ~Ian
  18. Hehe nope I checked for that, he was definitely the only other guy there aside from me. Maybe he was re-enacting his clan's pk meeting in his head  ~Ian
  19. Yesterday I was training my beloved Omegawrayth (yes I started him up again - 54 defence now!) at the monastery. I was in the corner of one of the buildings quietly training on a monk, and this guy comes out of the wilderness and spends a bit of time training in the middle of the monastery courtyard/garden: Random guy: Where's Yan? Random guy: Yanixec ,, Random guy: Yanixec ,, Random guy: Fall in! Random guy: All inm ... Random guy: P.O.Y in ... Random guy: 8.. Random guy: 8. Random guy: Yeh :D *Random guy leaves* Me: o_O I don't think he even knew there was anyone else there listening to him talking to himself :P ~Ian
  20. Bare in mind that this report only takes into account North America and Europe. You have to remember that Asia has a huge market for MMOGs (they make most of them! - ROSE, Ragnarok, Maplestory...) and these have not been included in this report. In the not so distant past I heard from a reliable source that RS is in fact the third most popular MMOG in the world, but that's still a great achievement. ~Ian
  21. Hi all. I guess I've got a few minutes to kill before I hit the sack for tonight, so I thought I might as well post in here as I have never done so before. Here goes! My username is Iantiger, both on here and in-game. I've been playing since Early 2002 (I think!). I've been a Tip Iter/Scaper for the majority of that time, and have been modding the general board for three quarters of a year now. I like to raise all skills when playing, and also have a pure defence character who has 53 defence at 24 combat, an achievement of which I am immensely proud. In real life, I am a student, studying computer science. I am aged 20 and enjoy music and sports. ~Ian
  22. Many times I've thought about, and actually quit the game; this is usually down to real life commitments such as coursework or exams. I suppose the thing that's always made me start playing again is when I realise I'm browsing the internet one weekend, and I'm usually quite bored and think to myself "Hmmm maybe I'll log onto RS, but just for a few minutes", and then memories of the 'golden days' come flooding back, along with the ambition to be as good as all my friends who have excelled themselves in my absence - and before you know it, I'm back to playing it every waking minute of the day! God I need help. ~Ian
  23. I remember vaguely the mention of clan support around the time RS2 was released. Whether this idea is still in the works at Jagex or whether it has been dropped - I have no idea. ~Ian
  24. I used to have one, but I've come to realise that I prefer to stick to a single character and combine the fruits of my labour into a single character with awesome (or at least pretty good :P ) levels. ~Ian
  25. For F2P: If I'm mining coal I use the guild all the time, in fact: it's the same for P2P: If I'm mining iron, I prefer to be on P2P, because there are a lot of iron mines which are usually empty on most worlds. My favourite spot would have to be the collection of iron rocks in between Yanille and Port Khazard. ~Ian
