One million coal would be awesome. Then I'd buy 500k iron, smith the bars and make lots more lovely money, as well as reaching 99 smithing (well I think that would get me there anyway :? ) ~Ian

That was pretty good! I like your "The Lost Scroll" video too. Maybe you should work on a feature-length film next :) You can act out almost anything in Runescape :) ~Ian

Saving all the time. I'm constantly looking for things to take out of my bank because I end up picking up everything I find on the ground. I was reluctant to get rid of a bag of onions(4) earlier today  I'm such a pikey :P ~Ian

Questions to the help and advice board in the future please  With your stats I'd suggest mining coal and finding a consistent buyer, or perhaps obtaining some iron too and work on smithing steel bars and then selling them. ~Ian
-
I'd probably say stats, but then again... money has always been an objective of mine, although I've never had the patience to make a great deal. I'm not a patient person so merchanting is out of the window, and in the recent past I've been in the process of fletching 10k yew longs to alch; something which I would have to do many times over to reach my dream goal of owning a purple party hat - at least the price appears to be stable at the moment so I still have a chance. But I always come crawling back to stats. I find it takes less time to get anywhere significant :D ~Ian

I get the occasional HYT, and sometimes run into people who say things such as "Hey aren't you like that tip it mod person?" but in all honesty there are hundreds of people on these forums more well known than I. Would hazard a guess that I'm the least popular staffie *goes to sulking corner* Hah, but seriously I'm not the publicity type. I don't attend many events, and I haven't played for a while so that hasn't done much for the old reputation >_> ~Ian

I think there is a level when you 'max' out the probability of successfully mining an ore. For instance, when I was mining at level 40, and when I mine now, at over level 85, there appears to be quite a large decrease in the average amount of time it takes to mine coal (number of pick swings). However, maybe it's just because levels are becoming further and fewer apart that it creates the illusion that the probability of getting ore is not decreasing. I don't think I have noticed much/any difference since level 75 or so. ~Ian

UNDERAGE USER ALERT!! (age requirement discussion)
Iantiger replied to ixfd64's topic in General Discussion
It's amazing how many people put their birth year into their name. We've all seen names like "Jasper91", "Fred1989" and occasionally "Betty1996". Note these are just examples, and probably not real player names. It's kind of funny how many people under 13 put their year of birth in their name like this, despite only minutes before creating their account, purposely lying about their age. IMO the no under-13's rule is in place for a reason, and people should respect that rule. Certainly some of the conversations and attitudes I've seen people have in Runescape - I wouldn't want anyone under 18 to witness those let alone anyone under 13. ~Ian -
Somedays I might put the music on for a while just because I want to hear it again, but most days I'll listen to my own music in WMP. ~Ian

Tip.It Times Presents: Construction & The Price...

Another quality article from Duke. Nobody writes them better imo. Fascinating stuff about the money drain - Great work on the graphs too, I don't know how you do it. Please get your own column on Tip It Times :) ~Ian -
Exactly. Noob used to mean exactly the same as newb, but it was developed to mean something different, mainly through the overuse and misuse of the term. Much like the term 'literally' in real life today - it is now wrongly used as another word for 'actually', when in fact 'literally' means 'to be written down in literature'. For example, someone might say 'I literally got up and punched him' which is misuse of the word. ~Ian

The Imperial Vipers! They played at my uni and I have been hooked ever since. They won 'The Sun' newspaper's battle of the bands competition. They play straight up, good old rock music. I bought their album ("Searching Falling Silence") which owns! Official Site Last FM page I'd be very greatful if you visited the Last FM page and voted for that picture of the band on their pictures page. It's only got a single vote so far and I think it requires 10 consecutive 'Yes' votes to appear as the band's displayed photo, which they desperately need. Thanks, ~Ian

I was playing my guitar almost constantly whilst I chopped 10k yews last week. ~Ian -
I went to KQ the during the first few days the kalphite lair was released, and I remember thinking she wasn't too bad. A few months ago I went back with a friend and we were going to slay it for chain drops. I lost my nerve, and nearly died, I was totally unprepared for its vicious attacks. So KQ wins for me hands down. I refuse to go back there ever again o.O ~Ian

Fantastic article! I really mean that, I genuinely enjoyed reading it. Lately, for me personally, articles have been lacking something although pinpointing exactly what this is, has proved difficult. I don't think I've really enjoyed an article since late July/early August but this week's really 'hit the spot'. Perhaps this can be attributed to a number of things: 1: It wasn't an article about the editor's personal feelings, it affects everyone/a lot of people. 2: The article was on a topic that I agree with. 3: There were some nice ideas thrown into the mix at the end about how to overcome this problem. 4: I found out a little more about the game before I played it. For example, the release date of fishing, the fact that banks didn't exist for almost an entire year! I find this sort of thing fascinating. That's probably what 'made' the article for me. In summary, again, a great article! This is one type of article I wouldn't mind seeing crop up every so often. ~Ian -
I was cutting yews near the Beehives, and this is the conversation I got into with some level 7x Random Guy: Ian Me: Yeah? Random Guy: What armour is that? Me: Full Infinity Noob: Infinity is ugly Me: You don't like my psychadelic groovy sixties look? Noob: LOL noob what were u born then or sumthin Me: Just because I know about the sixties, doesn't mean Me: I was born in them Noob: Yeah i no Noob: I lik the beatles from then Noob: An tha pistols Noob: I cant say the first word of there name Me: Oh I love the pistols, my housemate is a raving fan of theirs Me: They're not a sixties band though Noob: Ya they are Noob: First major hit in 1969 Me: I'm pretty sure that's too early i'll go ask my housemate Noob: Ya whatever Me: Yup, they formed 1972 Noob: Lol no they didnt go look it up Me: I did already Noob: Ya well ur a noob bye *Noobs logs out* Not too nooby, but it still baffles me when people ramble on about things they know nothing about and are just trying to act smart. Seemed a shame, because this particular noob seemed like a genuine smart guy/girl (female char). ~Ian

They're good but not great. I've got Hot Fuss, and it's fine, but it just passes off as another average indie album for me. I'll have to listen to their new stuff to see if this change you speak of exists. ~Ian
