  1. Huh. What do you know. I guess when I tried it I had nothing to compare it to so it just seemed slower. But anyway, the accuracy argument is still important.
  2. Mithril dragons have a very high defence, so in this case accuracy means a little more than strength bonus; this favours the LBS. On top of that, the SoL attacks slower than the LBS anyway. The spec is definitely not worth it since the dragon switches styles so often anyway and the specs as only a minute.
  3. Aren't zombies and skeletons both "humanoid"?
  4. Risk the max amount every game no matter what. It's cheap. When I hit 300, I had enough for full lord marshal, all imbued rings, quest it, and locator, plus extra. Just do it. But won't that leave me with little investment points everytime? Besides, If I use up all my investment points, that means I have to keep restocking it..bummer. Just restock it with something efficient like fire runes or the like. Play around with different cheap items on the GE that you can buy in bulk. Willows used to work well too.
  5. You'll find that it's easier to win on F2P since a lot of people are lower leveled, but overall games might take longer since you have less of a freezing ability + ridiculous KO power in claws/AGS etc
  6. Once you hit 200 rank, you'll get more reward credits the number of investment credits you put in if you max out your investment. Just so long as you cannon a few enemy squads it works out 80-90% of the time.
  7. +1. OKish xp, profitable, and they sell almost instantly since members use them for string jewelry. If you find hill giants too crowded for your ranged/melee training purposes, I recommend level 27 minotaurs in the SoS. They have pitiful defence, a low max hit, and there are a ton of them. The room with the 27s also has a fence if you want to safespot them. Another added bonus is that they drop iron arrows like no one's business, so you can pretty much stay there indefinitely as long as you safespot or have high enough defence to tank their hits. zaaps1 has a F2P training guide in the AoW. Check it out.
  8. I'm pretty sure the main use for battle robes is for rock lobsters since ice spells use so many runes. They're really not worth risking in PVP either. Since you've already got 99 summoning, I can only really think of CW/SW. Maging metals might be okish too. Just find a situation where you'll be casting a ton of high rune cost spells.
  9. Just a small comment on the whole cooking in dungeoneering thing: While a high cooking level is definitely important, the log type is also a pretty significant factor. I've burned a whole bunch of tier 5 foods at 85 cooking because I used tier 1 logs to cook them on. Once I used tier 8 logs, I could cook tier 7-8 foods with ease.
  10. Along with lower burn rates of high end foods and dungeoneering bonuses, you also get more cheese per wheel
  11. Dragon darts are less than half the price of rune knives, but they're about 7 attack less and 4 strength less. In that case I'd still get them over the rune knives, but I'd personally just use rune darts since they're about 4x cheaper than dragon darts.
  12. I'm a level 5 healer, level 2 defender, 2 attacker, and 1 collector. I'm looking to upgrade these roles and then fill up my horn. CB level is 110. 81 defence, 84 constitution. I'd like to find a clan that is pretty big and knows what they're doing.
  13. The whole set is about 2m on the GE, but easily 5-10x more than that in terms of street value. The absolute best usage for them would be bursting/barraging rock lobsters. Anything else and it's almost a waste of tokens. I'd say the closest contender for their use after ice spells would be surge spells.
  14. Runescoop Dungeoneering Guide It's wonderfully comprehensive and gives lots of insight into just about every topic, from weapon binds and monster weaknesses to rushing strategies and methods for gaining xp. It outlines some soloing tips for boss monsters too. Some of the methods also give you an option to solo for most of the floors and then rake in the xp on higher ones. Couple this with some reference to the Tip.it, RS Wiki, and RSOF guides and you'll be on your way.
  15. Plank make essentially turns magic into a slightly more annoying firemaking. The gp/xp ratio usually works out to be about 1-2gp/xp though and it's got a pretty good XP rate overall, so it's one of the better methods.
  16. It's dependent on your strength bonuses. Play around with the Tip.it max hit calculator and experiment with different builds.
  17. Don't forget to laugh at/convert those kids using knives :P Oh I'll laugh, but I'm going to refrain from converting them. As long as people don't know about it, the prices will stay low :)
  18. Alright, well as long as there really isn't a reason why I should be buying knives over addy darts then I'll continue to enjoy my economical ranging ammo :D
  19. But is that true for all darts? If you look at all of the knives and the dart 1 metal up, you'll almost consistently find that darts are always cheaper, but the same strength.
  20. I think you're missing my point. Adamant darts and mithril knives have the same ranged strength and ranged attack, but addy darts cost less.
  21. Why do people use knives at all given darts exist? I can understand why darts are cheaper than knives; you make double the amount per bar and the feathers don't cost too much. However, I don't get why people advocate the use of knives at all. For the longest time, steel darts were around 25-30gp, much less than iron knives yet the same strength, accuracy, and speed. Now after the shops update and the release of bronze knife prices on the GE, that's true once more. It remains consistent with all other knife and dart pairs. Addy darts and mithril knives are the same strength, but the darts are like 40-50gp less.
  22. Tbh, now that I've seen the new animations for water spells, I'm almost tempted on getting the tome of frost solely for that reason  The staff animation is wicked awesome. I'm nearly willing to forgive Jagex for that climbing boot incident for these animation alone.
  23. If you bring a lava staff, you can use it to stand in for alching as well as B2P (If you've unlocked it of course, which I also recommend) since aviansies drop a number of water runes. This can also supplement your food supply and can remove the necessity for a bunyip.
  24. Yep another thread concerning dungeoneering: Training 1. I'm only 41 dungeoneeering at the moment, meaning I can only do up to floor 22. Should I try to just solo by myself a bit to unlock a few more floors before I start finding larger teams? 2. On that point, how many floors should I unlock? Between the Tip.it, Runescoop, and RS wiki guides, most seem to say that I should solo/team rush from 1-20ish and then do the last few floors in large teams for maximum XP. Rewards I got a coal bag as soon as I reached 41 dungeoneering and my next goal is 70 for the arcance stream necklace. That means as soon as I get to 70 dungeoneering, I'll have 69kish tokens (probably closer to like 65k from all the rounding each floor). Using up tokens for the necklace as well as another 10k for the scroll of life I intend on getting, that leaves me with roughly 25k-29k tokens leftover. 1. Tome of Frost I plan on doing some barraging at some point when I save up some money, get a SoL, and get my battle robe top. However, when I do get all that stuff, would the tome of frost even save that many runes? Otherwise it would only give +2 magic bonus over an unholy book, and I'd lose out on +5 pray bonus. 2. Rapier or CLS Pretty obvious. Great weapons for training, but they'd take a really long time. 3. Wait? There *is* another pretty big dungeoneering update that is supposed to be coming out and I'm guessing that there will be some new rewards. I'm actually not too interested in any of the rewards after the stream necklace or scroll of life. Maybe I should wait?
  25. But aren't abyss runs a bit slower than graahk? How many deaths can be made in an hour?
