  1. He's also F2P. Superheating is on par if not better for magic xp than alching and also gives you the bonus of getting smithing XP. It's a little click intensive, but the materials are usually very plentiful and are much less restricted, unlike a lot of alching items which tend to be weapons. SH can also come close to profiting depending on the market whereas high alch will almost always lose a considerable amount. EDIT: mlskid beat me to it
  2. +1, making nats either through the abyss or using a spirit ghraak. Can you please breifly explain what those are? Also how much can u make per hour making nature runes? The abyss method of training involves going through an area known as the abyss unlocked after a short miniquest for a Zamorak mage and let's you instantly teleport to just about any altar you would normally have access to (IE. Death runes only after MEPII) The spirit graahk is a familiar which teleports you very close to the nature altar itself. Profits for nats below 91 RC is around...350-450K.
  3. I'll stop relying on others when people stop being trolls. This forum is for help&advice. And im asking for advice. :shame: Granted he could have actually offered some real advice, I wouldn't say it's really a troll. He speaks the truth as Tip.it has plenty of calculators that you could use. Furthermore, these forums are jam packed with threads asking about the best ways of leveling magic and more often than not they contain almost the exact same question format and get the same responses. Sythen, like myself, is most likely just a little tired of seeing the same question being asked over and over again when searching "Mage" or "magic" would yield a large quantity of results. All that aside, my personal favourite is charging air orbs as it's profitable and semi-AFKable, but you don't quite have the levels for it. Even earth orbs are 5 levels away from where you're at. Right now superheat is still a good contender for low-cost, but still efficient training. A little more click intensive than alching, but usually has a much lower loss.
  4. I think you also need to consider the fact that this is just a pilot run of bonus XP weekends. They have already stated that if this event is successful that it's a very likely possibility that F2Pers will also get free weekends too. No matter what you say, Jagex remains a company with employess. This is not some volunteer project they do in their spare time for our own benefit; their own livelihoods depend on it. As a result, they must give priority to those who are directly funding them the most, so this obviously means members. In the past Jagex has almost always run major content through members first only to then release it to F2Pers. Sound effects and music, RS2, the HD update were all updates that I personally experienced as a purely F2P player and even then I wasn't overly perturbed that the release date was delayed for F2P. F2P is still getting updates via minor graphical fixes, engine updates, and F2P will even get a new skill.
  5. Always remember that Greenman's ale will boost you up 1 level, so you only need 84 if you want super antifires. (Matures are much more expensive and harder to buy). That saves about 7 mil.
  6. Remember fletching potions can be used at level 77 to give you the needed levels to make the MSB.
  7. In regards to farming, fruit trees all the way!!! Orange trees FTW. Herbs a nice source of income, but won't level you quickly.
  8. From Chenjs2's guide in the AoW
  9. Wakka has an old, but solid guide. I'm pretty sure this was done in Vista though, but the settings and interfaces shouldn't have changed much in the version switch.
  10. Search is your friend. Try searching thread titles for "herblore" in help and advice. I found a bunch.
  11. Just make sure they're black or above. Bronzes and irons are near impossible to buy these days.
  12. The ranged attack are the same, but the attack speed is different, with the MSB 1 tick faster. So in that case the MSB is the superior choice. You should consider a rune xbow and some bolts instead though. It's even more accurate and hits significantly harder (Iron bolts hit about the same as rune arrows. Think about what you could do with mithril or broad bolts.) They're the same speed as your seercull, but you can also use a shield slot item.
  13. You can boost up there, but not req assistance.
  14. With the release of the actual mechanics of the RoW, I'm not sure that's a valid explanation. Addy bars are on the main drop table yes, but if you get to the point that you roll on the rare drop table, you wouldn't have gotten any addy bars anyway. The RoW doesn't affect the chances of the rare drop table coming up, just how likely you're going to get something from it. Given that, you should still probably wear a RoL or archer ring if you have it.
  15. D bones are probably also a good bet.
  16. Sinkhan Method: Picatoris iron mine with Kyatt and Dueling rings Equipment: Rune Pick Varrock Armour 3 Rune defender Boots of lightness Spottier Cape Dueling Ring Glory Run 1: Total Time Taken: 00:50:26 Total xp gained in this time was 28175. This ramps up to about 33810xp per hour. Ores mined was 798, which is about 957 ores per hour. Run 2: Total Time Taken: 00:50:14 Total xp gained in this time was 27300. This ramps up to about 32760xp per hour. Ores mined was 780, which is about 936 ores per hour. These runs were a little cleaner as I just observed values when my kyatt was summoned and when it disappeared. Note that the world that I did these runs on were a little less full than the one I did the first run on. My next set of runs will test the ardy cape method. Would a t-bird be the best familiar to use here?
  17. I don't quite understand what you're trying to say here and what you're comparing? Are you saying that without the potion, you hit 14 with both the rune scimitar and the 2H?
  18. From RS Content Q&A - pt 2. Fourth last comment.

Sell them for guaranteed profit, but use them for a little gamble. If you get both halves from drops/MTK then try it out. I personally use all my keys. I gotten stuff from a spinach roll to 3 rune bars .
  20. I died in the phoenix lair thanks to a lag spike that booted me from the server. Running newest Java too. And to think I was going too attempt Jad soon
  21. Wow really? I remembered getting them pretty easily when I bought mine a while back. I guess the staff of light update really really brought them to light.
  22. Try to include: -Target player audience (Low, mid, high levels, those who don't want to pay attention etc -Specific locations of where one can teleport to get the essence and benefits of each location -XP and GP hour rates But overall, essence mining doesn't really need a guide. It's one of the easiest low, but relatively stable, sources of income.
  23. 6 hours sounds good but idk if I feel like playing 4 hours for the tokens to fix it each time. Especially since I'm going to have to pay pretty high to get it atm. If you want the robes themselves, you'll probably be best off trying to buy off the GE. Do it quick because prices are slowly rising. Of all the FoG items, battle robes actually had a pretty low GP/token ratio which why so few were put into the market. Now people are starting to catch on and the staff of light update made them even more famous.
  24. Mithril bolts at the blast furnace still profit according to my quick calculations. EDIT: Forgot to factor in the unnoting cost, which is what really makes it efficient. When I did this, I used the coal that I accumulated from MTK which is why I remembered it to be profitable
  25. It's based on combat time, not actually casts. I guess you could calculate exactly how many casts that is, but I don't know casting speed off the top of my head. It's supposed to last 6 hours. I average about 10-14 tokens per win and I win most games. They can take anywhere from 5-15 minutes each. Going by a worst case scenario, it'll take you about 6-7 hours, but it could take as little as 2-3 hours.
