Let's see... would you want pr0n* with you in it all over the internet, when you're, say, a middle aged dad or a grandpa? Ugh... I'd hate that, I'd like set a rule that my kids could never use the internet... Get your own chicks and have fun with 'em, no need to shame yourself for it forever :? . *Can we get that word unblocked? I'm sure most everyone here is mature enough to use it properly (and it's not like those who aren't can do a lot of damage with it); it's annoying to try and have an intelligient conversation on a subject, and have to censor evade to do it.

Why be the director when you can be the star? :P I personally aim for a job in video game design or animation, though something in architecture or archaeology would be awsome. Because then you'd be out of a job in probably less than a year.

I suppose you could say it isn't the Word of God, though I'd still stand strong on the Pentatuch. Don't take this as official Christian belief, as it my opinion, but the Word of God can be interpreted as guidance for the human race. Would that not what God would tell us, give us guidance? In the Pentatuch, I would say no. Maybe in the other parts of the Bible, definitely not the Pentatuch. Do you have any other examples to attack the use of the word "day" besides the Seven Days? I've got a good example of time given not actually being real time: 40 years. Back then (maybe now as well, not sure) "40 years" was often used to describe "one generation", which is obviously not exactly 40 years. Here, you see the word "years", a term with a set amount of time, not actually using the time frame it is meant to in our day and age. Also, remember that this has been translated from another language, so day could easily have multiple meanings in the first text. How 'bout the modern Christian God? He is an example of love and compassion, a beacon of hope. Today he is used to help the hopeless, to give people reason to be good, to set society straight. And of course there are many supernatural debates in which the Christian God is used as explanation (such as seeing a light when you are near death, ghosts, etc.), if you're wondering about "filling in the holes of the unknown." The morals of the Bible aren't outdated. Mind you some cultural rules are, but not the meanings the stories give us, ESPECIALLY the meanings behind Jesus' stories and parables. Ugh. Again, stop attacking the parts of the Bible real Christians don't look at. The scientific beliefs of the time in no way diminish the meaning(s) and stories of the Bible. Christianity ain't got no Volcano gods :-s . Who's "they"? If you're talking about Christians, your only slightly 99.8% wrong (.2% being the fundamentalists). We don't know which religion is true. Nontheless, improbability, as Astra has said to me, does not rule out the possibility that Christianity is right in every aspect. Yet again, CULTURAL RULES are outdated. Morals, not quite. And you're wrong. That is, unless you have a moral (not a cultural rule) that they had back then that is wrong today. I'll give you a cookie if Jesus said it. No, make that two cookies, and a glass of milk. So, you proved that the Earth isn't exactly 6,000 years old. OMG! Christianity must die! What, you've been up to the sun and seen, being 100% sure, that an Egyptian god wasn't there moving it?

Amen to that. :P I have no problem with the bible, only the overwhelming minority of the Christian population who try to defend it's words as fact by trying to disprove things such as evolution. Now how they do this is completely incorrect science; they have thier conclusion already and try and fabricate the evidence suited to support thier argument which not only takes things out of context, but trys to disprove actual honest science. Science never trys to disprove anything or anyone, it merely happens to overwrite old theories when new ones come along. That's why I believe science is above and beyond the tactics fundamentalists use. As do I. And yes, fundamentalists are a rare race within the Christian community, nowadays anyways. Even my psycho fundamentalist teach' still agrees that Creatinism and Evolution are one in the same.

Lol, don't even try that. "Days" in this sense means something along the lines of "steps"; look at the Seven Days, there's no way they're all equal time spans. Also, work on your math :P .

It was written by people who lived thousands of years ago who had none of the information that we have to prove the history of the earth... It wouldn't make sense if they had big days, as the bible includes sentences such as "he travelled for X days" If in fact, the days back then were big enough to account for the billions of years this earth has been around for, in this 'X days' he would have been dead in the first day. Fossils are billions of 'today's years' old, but apparently the bible is 6000 years old. I explained above about the argument about different sized days cannot be true, so if you believe in the bible, you cannot believe in dinosaurs. Which have been proven, you might as well not believe in gravity. Ever realize how those two parts were written by people who lived centuries, maybe a thousand+ years apart...? "Day" can have many meanings, you know that, right?... Right? Little conformation would be nice. =D> You're getting it! It's a MORAL GUIDEBOOK. People use gods to explain what they do not understand, or to fill needs. We still do that today. So, the Bible is complete bull because of something not only the Egyptians, but basically everyone from the almighty Romans to the Greeks did? They're just describing the beliefs of the time, are you saying we shouldn't watch history documentaries about Egyptian beliefs because that documentary is, in your opinion, bull because of the information it analyzes and describes? =D> Didn't everyone back then do that? Yet another metaphor(s) with meaning(s) behind it. The stories of the Bible are there for their MEANINGS and GUIDANCE. They are a guide for a good, united human race. Stop hating on it for technicalities. Yes, I'm agreeing that most of the Bible doesn't actually contain factual data about the world and it's history. Still doesn't change my opinion that these attacks on the Bible are meaningless, as your are attacking the meaningless part anyways. Oh, and way to commit suicide in the last sentence of your post. EDIT: For all we know, Ra and the Egyptian gods are real. Just want to point that out :-$ .
  7. So, you're saying that if we don't understand something, it can't possibly exist? If we don't fully understand the meaning of life, we have to be right -God forbid if humans were ever wrong-, and there can't be one? "Hey Bob, I don't know what makes up the universe." "Neither do I Joe. :-k . It must mean atoms don't exist!" Still don't see the logic.
  8. That didn't make any sense at all o_O. The only way that statement would make any sense would be if humans were omniscient...
  9. That's a pretty lame reason to fail completely...It's okay though, I failed mine the first time too for turning into the far lane on a one-way. :P Heh.. I flew (yes, flew, not knick, flew) over a curb during my drivers test, I still passed :P . First time I flew over a curb, had to be during my test -.-. If it's your first time taking the test peeps, watch out, you're not going to drive your best :ohnoes: .
  10. Some people need to cut down on their playing o_O.
  11. Yes, but when you're not 117 combat the clans can be painful o_O.
  12. I prefer baths. Though I have done both at the same time :-k .
  13. Poverty. Too many people in the world don't even have proper living conditions :? .

Look at the links I posted. Subjective morality is dynamic. Objective is static; it never changes. Public opinion, or overall subjective morality, has changed. That does not mean objective morality has changed- just because the majority thinks it's objective doesn't mean it is. Basically, the objective morality of homosexuality doesn't change just because a few humans felt like it should. Human opinion, no matter how many people agree, can never equal objective morality. "Objective morality by today's standards" doesn't even make any sense. You can't just say, "well, 53 people think it's wrong, 47 people think it's right, so it has to be wrong." Once again, majority opinion does not constitute a good argument for what objective morality is. Majority opinion is generally much more accurate than the opinion of one person, but it is so easily swayed that it can't be trusted too much as to say that, "what the majority says is objective morality." There are so many ways that could be seen as a terrible when looking at history. How 'bout, "well, most of us think that throwing this virgin chick into the volcano will save us, so it must be moral to through her in." Majority opinion is nothing more than a culmination of many subjective moralities- it is still subjective, just like it's components. 'Kay :P .
  15. The small text stopped being funny after about... wakka or so. As for everyone going "OMG, 6 HOURZ!?!? WTFZORZ?!?!", the mother was interviewed, so it was obviously exaggerated to an extent. For a mom, seeing your kid play for 3 straight hours on the computer can easily feel like 6 or 7. Basically, I'm sure most of the people here play just as much as this kid. Don't deny it, there's no reason to.

  17. Sadly hipnotism only works on the weak and dull minds don't say any bad jokes about Bush plz False, though it does take a more skilled hypnotist for the more keen minds :-k .
  18. Just take out the ",/" in the url. Accidentally get that in there?
  19. Okay, the attacks on the general runescape community are REALLY getting old.
  20. Err... no comment. Same goes for this thread o_O.
  21. Pfft, nah, most are just saying what they plan to do, and maybe do a third of it, if that :P . Though, everyone but the jokesters who are unhealthy probably wouldn't post, so you're also seeing a minority of the people viewing this thread :P .

I've got a link for anyone who thinks that morals are completely subjective, and that there isn't a complete "moral law" to the universe- http://www.cygnus-books.co.uk/features/ ... -emoto.htm It's an extract of a book I recently read, "The Hidden Messages in Water". Quite an interesting read. There's very much more than just discussion of morals there too  . In fact, the objectivity of a natural law of morals is merely something that stems from the study. EDIT: You guys'll love this link, pics and other info about the study: https://www.hado.net/watercrystals/index.php Those are some pics of the water crystals during the study, there's plenty of other pieces of info throughout the site :P .

Exactly... no human understands what Truth is. No one ever will, it's impossible. If you're post was referring to me, then I guess you could say that I "strongly believe" that Truth exists, though there's not a shadow of a doubt in my mind.
  24. Rebdragon replied to a post in a topic in Off-Topic
Morals are not subjective. There IS a basic moral law of the universe, "Truth" if you will, and it's just that our interpretations of what "Truth" really is is the reason that it appears subjective. Basically, if Truth was put into a pie chart, much of what we know would exist outside of the chart, while what we do know would be a VERY small slice of the pie that is Truth. Of course, this means that some people have bigger slices than other people. Oh, and Tigra, I think everyone stopped caring about your completely hidebound hate of all things religion a long time ago. Get over yourself and learn a thing or two about religion.
  25. Yes, because obviously everyone at school monitors how much time he spends per day on the computer, and for that matter even cares  .
