  1. I've read first posts of threads wrong more than once :-# .
  2. I have a feeling that if you ever meet a God figure, and ask those questions, It'd probably make you look like an idiot, and you'd probably feel like an idiot. Basically in the same way that Jesus did to those who questioned his opinions or tried to trick him  . Jesus is a slick one, he'd be awesome at poker... Besides, if you don't believe in It, and don't want to be with It, It'd just be granting your wish. Personally, you'd sound like a real [wagon] and a whiner if you felt you deserved passage into "Heaven", or whatever it is that defines being with "God". Hell has been defined as not being with God, which has has been stated. You don't want to be with a God. Therefore, you'd enter into "Hell", of your own choice. Finally, good people would techincally be with God, and thus would not enter into "Hell". They are following the natural moral order or the universe that God has set, and that's as close to being with God as you can get. Of course, this is all speculation, we don't know for sure if a God exists :-$ . To me it seems like something has to be out there (from information I've gathered), but to each his own opinion.
  3. Allow me to rephrase this post. You don't know that there aren't multiple realities. If you do, then tell us why you think that, for Christ's sake.
  4. You're balanced in all those categories o_O? I love balance too, but these are supposed to be pictures about you :P . While on the subject of Yin and Yang though, I'd like to note that Yin, which symbolizes evil/dark, is also represented by females. Owned.
  5. 1/10. I recognize your sig, but it's probably because I saw it at the gallery, not in your sig, so I dunno  .
  6. Dear lord, yet another frikking "Wha, my class is underpowered!" thread. I can Barrage you and 8 of your friends, do 30 damage to each of you, laugh at you all for 15 seconds, and then take my leave. Ya, I really need a spec.
  7. If it's peer pressure that's the problem, then obviously someone started the chain of peer pressure smoking in this area or the world, so they're addiction is just the product of someone else thinking it's cool. Anyways, if the "cool" factor doesn't "come into it these days", then every single marketing group for cigarrette companies is doing their job completetly wrong, and wasting millions because "cool" with smoking doesn't matter. Right?
  8. Maybe the people at Turner broadcasting planned this whole bomb fiasco thing out from the very beginning as a way to get an extreme amount of advertising... :-k . Abuse of human idiocy and ignorance, great way to advertise :D .
  9. Hell no. If that were true everything in the universe except for a section of the human race would go to "heaven". Now that's just being arrogant. For example, I hate how people who believe in Heaven actually argue whether or not Ghandi made it there. What bullcrap, honestly. I may not know the fine line between good and evil, but I knows it when I sees it. Also, from what I have read on the changing shape of water crystals based on human thought, there appears to be a natural order in the universe of what is morally good and what is not. So, you could be wrong :-$ .
  10. you can reset your wave... but still alot of work for nothing really :-s
  11. The Jak series was great; every game had the best ending of any game I've played, same goes for the rest of the game  . Really wish they'd make more...
  12. 7.5/10 Havn't watched the show much, but what I've seen is pretty sweet, and the sig doesn't look half bad :P .
  13. 8/10 for the third Dragon in the crew :P .
  14. Locke, I believe we are arguing two different points. You are defending the base opinion of Christianity, while I am defending the majority opinion of current day Christians. I agree with what you have said (mostly), so I don't really see a point in debating o_O. No, that was a later opinion/cover up. His initial intention was to not care about life after this generation, because it didn't matter- Jesus was coming back that generation. Do you go to a Catholic school? I do, and that is what I have been taught.
  15. 1. I am not arguing about the validity of the Bible. I don't care who thinks the Bible is correct or not. 2. If the people you are talking about are Christians, that means they believe what the Bible says. 3. Please logically explain to me, using your knowledge of Greek culture when that verse was written, why a verse that speaks not only until the end of this time, but also through all of eternity, would change over time. If a Christian who believes in the Bible reads a verse that says "this will never change," what culturally would make that Christian who believes in the Bible think that the verse is now irrelevant? That verse was written by MAN in a different age then ours, not God, it is not eternal. Technically, the Catholic Church may say that's true for all of eternity, but most Christians don't give a hoot for most of the Catholic Church's opinions (take the homosexuality argument, for example...). Practical Christians don't take every single word of the Bible as law and the Word of God. I'll admit some crazy Christians might though. Much of the Bible is written specifically to the people of the time, such as many of the rules it tells us of how to treat women, many of which are outdated. Another good example is Paul's belief that celibacy is the best thing to do. Wana know why he said that? It's because he believed Jesus was going to come back within his lifetime, so we don't need to reproduce. Well, obviously he was wrong. Too bad the idea of celibacy survived his error. Anyways, my point is that the Bible is not absolute, and not true in every case. Most Christians realize that not everything in the Bible is true, or the Word of God.
  16. If the terrorist tells the Christian that they'll live if they deny God, but they'll die if they stand firm in their faith, then even though the terrorist is the primary cause the Christian still has a choice to live or die. If the Christian stands firm, they die, and no matter how you spin it, it's still partially their fault. Locke, the Bible was written by Christians (and others, in the case of the Old Testament) thousands of years ago, it is not absolute. Time changes, religious views change.
  17. Guess I forgot to mention this, but most Christians I know also don't think they're going to Hell because they made a short lie to save their family.
  18. Most Christians I know have goten past the point of believing that God plays favorites. Also, most I know put earthly duties over standing up for their God, mind a few with strong faith and no families to worry about (i.e., most priests). Personally, faith is nothing to die over. Admitting you believe in God at gun point is basically committing suicide and hurting your close one's for something you're not even sure is true.
  19. Yes, I am implying that. Our seeking of perfection (but never attaining it) gives us a purpose, a reason for life. Anyways, if life is pointless, why havn't you killed yourself by now? If you think life is entirely pointless then you really have no reason to be keeping yourself alive, right? [No, this isn't attack mods, don't ban me again for something like that... it's merely a question I'm asking about his position.]
  20. I'm sure it is in at least one of the infinite universes. It's probably possible somewhere in this universe too... It's hard to do, but not impossible. If you've ever read Brave New World, take an even more extreme example of that, and you'll get an identical world.
  21. Again, completely disregarding every single factor except for health. There's a reason people choose to smoke over licking a diaper, think about it a little. If you wanted to say that, you're three pages late from repeating nearly everyone on this thread anyways. At this point there's really no point in just saying it's unhealthy, unless you have statistics or something else new to bring to the thread.
  22. Religion breeding terrorists. :uhh: ... I didn't say that I would kill in the name of God. I blatantly explained my statement as meaning that if someone put a gun to my head, I would not deny God. Even if you had a family to take care of? Strong faith you've got, but I'd vote for what I know I must do over what I believe I must do.
  23. Never trust your sister. :-$
  24. Granted. You are laying down in Fort Pillow in the middle of the Civil War, and you are killed by soldiers. Second wish is two wishes at once, and therefor void. I wish I was a perfectly healthy labrador puppy in a loving home, to live a happy life with my family.
