Leaving Runescape.
Why? In what way?

How to get a balance in life?
I actually recommend going cold turkey and finding something else to occupy yourself (without video stimulation). That's how I got off video games and after you've gotten used to finding other things to do, video games won't be as entertaining. Really? 'Cause I've seen a lot of people at General P2P make a quitting thread and try and go cold turkey, and most of them were back within a week. Then again, I wouldn't know the best method, I quit kinda differently. The SODB wanted me to get 94 Mage, I hated training but after forcing myself for about 2 months at PC I got it. Basically for my last month of playing I hated the game, but played it so much (as everyone really wanted me to get the mage level) that I drove the nail that was the my hate of Runescape deeper and deeper in. Now it's so deep in that there's not a tool in the world that could get it out  . Basically, I have no data on either method being more efficient, but I've seen a lot of people try and go cold turkey, and fail. Meh, try both ways, "cold turkey" first. If it doesn't work, try my method. If that doesn't work, well, you're screwed.

How to get a balance in life?
Lol, I quit the game, and people don't look up to me, no where close. Those who don't play anymore see me as a regular person, and those who play, if you've seen me in General P2P, hate my opinions about the game. The main one being my lack of respect for mindless clicking and wasting one's life, but that's another story. If you love the game, don't quit. It probably won't work anyways. Though, if you want to quit, I suggest gradual decline in playing, such as shaving off the max hours per day every week (ille est, start at 5 hours MAX a day, next week make it 4, next 3, 2, 1, 0). If you just want to play less stop at 2 or 1 hours max a day; you don't have to go to 0 using this method. I'd also suggest joining a club at school, as that is a good way to meet people and have fun with them without having to try too hard. If this is a kid, which I'm guessing is true, maybe he could just join a sports team, though he doesn't have to. Working out is no where close to being as important for kids and teenagers as it is for adults. I mean, I havn't worked out or played a sport (except once a week indoor soccer, which ended a month+ ago) since Varsity soccer conditioning last summer-fall, and I'm in fine shape, still got my abs lol. Basically it's really not all that important for kids and teenagers to work out as much. EDIT: Guess I missed it earlier, ya, he's 15.

why can friends be such jerks?
Hearing all this just makes me feel more detached from the "real world" :|. I don't want you all to hate me, but this is why: Currently I'm at a Catholic Jesuit All-Boys High school. I don't know if it's the Christian feeling there, or the fact that there are no girls for guys to look tough around and get distracted by, but everyone here is basically perfect. Nearly everyone gets at least straight B's, most almost all A's. Nearly everyone plays multiple sports at the school, and is very active together in different clubs, and like a quarter of the class tutors. There are no "clicks", no groups, the "jocks" and "nerds" are at the exact same level, and many are good friends. Everyone is just really friendly, it's like the only ones who would get picked on are the ones who are mean to others. Also, I've got a pretty different haircut (connecting to the people here who have had comments about their hair), honestly it looks pretty bad some days, and I've only had one person in three years sincerely tell me to cut it. [Long story short my barber messed up and my hair is short lol, but I don't mind now]. I've also got a solid family with basically no problems at all, two dogs, good income, etc. I'm in this little bubble, seperated from the harshness of the real world. Man is the real world going to hit me hard. So, I sympathize with you guys, but I can't empathize. I mean I can say, "good luck, hope things get better", but I just don't understand the situation, so it'd be wrong of me to say, "I know what you're going through, it'll be OK." But as Bloodred said, I'm praying for you guys.

Things other players do that annoy or make you mad?
It makes me mad when people try and justify playing Runescape saying crap like "it teaches you about the medieval era, you learn little things along the way, blah blah blah..." This game isn't good for you in any way, but that shouldn't matter too much unless your life is this game. Stop trying to justify the game and go back to playing -.- .

Leaving Runescape.
Indeed. We get hated for it, but welcome to the club :P .

Global Warming
Global warming is real, but CO2 makes up like 300 out of a million of the particles in the air... we should be worrying about the magnetic flip, we're a bit overdue o_O.

Are you interested in/fascinated by any other religions?
Well, that's three technical Catholics interested in Buddhism in a row.

*gag* some skills I just can't get used to training..
No, antually we don't write down everything you say for later use. But it's nice to know you read a topic, I can sleep well tonight. I can't stand... smithing. Anything about smithing. No no, I like keeping my head on my shoulders. Eh, if you really don't know, I hate all skills. It's repetitive, dull, boring, and accomplishes nothing. Jessy, that other opinion of mine was not the one I was thinking of here :-$ . I mean, I like the ideas behind Magic, Defense, Herblore and Agility, but that doesn't mean I want to make my character run in circles all day, or make tens of thousands of the exact same potion, or play PC until I go brain dead. None of those things seem appealing, or fun, to me. The fact that I don't respect skills just makes me want to train them even less.

is your name origonal?
The pure who got Rebdragon to 55 Str and stopped, having no other skills on the hiscores (and now none, since his 55 Str got bumped off), better watch his back -.-  . Odds are he just wanted a different way of spelling Reddragon... bastard.
-
where did your name come from?
Our search button's in Hell, can you go fish it out for me? But yes, I've resonded to this thread like 5 times, so if you can't get it from my Avatar I'm not explaining it :-$ . (hint: R.ed E.yes B.lack Dragon. Hope that's enough)

Why Do You Play RuneScape?
Lol, it's responses like that that get me killed here at General P2P... Everyone will see the light of what they're doing once they quit, but since they're in a different perspective right now they don't quite get it  . I.e., telling people that they're farming on their computer doesn't even bring the slightest appearance of shock into the eyes of most players.

nice people in runescape
Yes, sadly little kids and teenagers find that there are no consequences for their minor (and legal, usually) bad actions in this game, and no one knows who they are, so most are immature enough to feel they have a right to not do the right thing. They hide behind the mask, doing whatever they please to. "Can't hurt or steal from someone in the real world, no, they'll fight back. So I'll hide behind a computer screen, that way I can do and say whatever I want to other people and their items!"

*gag* some skills I just can't get used to training..
I'm sure everyone knows my opinion by now, so I'll just not say anything but make it known that I viewed and responded to this thread.

What's the Best Book you've Ever Read?
I always loved Call of the Wild. If anyone has read Ender's Game, don't bother reading Speaker for the Dead. It sucks.

Why do you hate Agility?
That's like saying "I love herblore but hate making potions" He's referring either to the concept of the rewards of the skill, not training it Fresh  .

~Why do YOU want a skillcape?~
To be quite honest, I'm sick of seeing all your posts relating to the fact that you don't respect skills. We get it - seriously. You may not respect them, others do. OT: I want 99 Mage, not for the cape it's ugly in my opinion; it's just a skill I like. I also want Firemaking sometime soon. 1) My post refers to the fact that players often get capes, mainly the cooking and fletching capes, for respect. I wasn't referring to not respecting them, but the fact that it annoys me that people feel a need to get these capes just to show off. 2) It's been well over 50 posts since I even mentioned that opinion, and quite frankly, it's hard to avoid it on a Runescape forum. 3) The fact that my opinion concerning said issue is basically the polar opposite of most other player is the reason why it stands out, and also the reason why it annoys you and others. I'm sorry if you don't see patterns in other peoples' posts because they have the same opinion as most other people, but this is my opinion, and it's going to pop out. You're going to notice it a thousand times more than other posts mainly because it's different from nearly everyone elses, not because it is my opinion. 4) As I've said in the past, I don't play much anymore, but, nontheless, I love to talk to people here at General P2P about the game. Because of the fact that I don't play much anymore I may seem very different from everyone here, and I'm sure my opinions annoy you because of the fact that they're different, but it'd be nice if you could just accept the fact that I don't play anymore and move on.

I don't. My ego's fine without one.

Why Do You Play RuneScape?
To be honest, I really don't play now. But I used to play for the rush of getting a good drop or Barrows item, the rush of Dagganoth Kings, having some fun at Castle Wars. Yeah, that's a good point, though all of the surveys I have seen aren't thought-provoking or prone to debate. Places to alch? What level you became a member? Worst moment in RuneScape? Bleh. I'm siding with Muggi on this one. Unlike most other survey threads, this one will most likely spark a lively discussion about, as the title says, the different reasons why people play.

Being Innovated.. however you spell it.
I say just make the combat system more exciting and dangerous. Like make the game a first person view instead of an over view, and make the avatar more controllable in a fight, as well as making the enemy monsters more sophisticated and dangerous. Man Castle Wars would be fun with first person view.

::How emotionally involved are you while staking/pking?::
Geez, this thread was bumped so far that Bubsa was still playing and talking about Runescape at the time  .

Barbarian Assault - Is there a good guide for it?
Help and Advice. But in case anyone at Tip was wondering, here's my rough guide that I quickly wrote at the SODB for Defenders. I don't really care who sees it, as having more people knowing how to do the job right will at least help the game stay alive.

Low Levels, why do you come to PC?
Maybe it's a conspiracy to modulate the insane experience gained from PC! ... Or maybe they just want good experience? They don't count on having their skill win the game. Their counting on your muscle to do it.
