  1. Ya, Collector is easy, and there's really no pressure except for telling the Attacker what to do. God that'd be a nice job, not worrying about your team getting mad lol. Collecter's, their just there to help, to get you bonus points and eggs to shoot, all extra, nice, bonus things that aren't needed. They're basically praised in nearly every situation, and almost never shunned. I tried attacking, and at level 99 combat I sucked at it  . I mean, I really sucked- There were maybe 10 monsters left for me to kill after everyone else was done with their job the time I trid it  . I was 10,000 times better at healing :o . Healer I don't personally find difficult, but it's easy for your teammates to find a reason to get mad at you. Being too slow killing the monster Healers, not calling out to the Defender, letting someone die or even nearly die, it's just annoying how much crap one gets for not doing every part of the job perfectly and not making up for other peoples' mistakes. You die in the first 15 seconds of the game, it's your fault, not mine. To be honest though, I disagree with your point on Defender. Personall all I do is throw food randomly around the trap and put a lot of food on the trap, and I generally get all the runners, even on wave 9. Mind you, today was my first day, and I caught all the runners randomly throwing things down at level 1 Defender, with only 2 runs experience. The only annoying thing that I find about it is that because I'm continually dropping stuff and collecting items, I often miss the food change, so the Healers can get ticked. I'm a level 5 Healer who always got pissed at the Defender for not shouting stuff out, but now that I know what it's like I understand how they miss calling out a food- their attention is generally turned away from the upper interface.
  2. I'm the opposite  . I tried Attacker once, man was that a bad game. All the monsters were basically left at the end  . Defender, meh, not great at it. Havn't tried Collecter. I bet I could do that. As of now, I have lvl 5 healer, and 35 points in everything else because of queen kills  .
  3. A good friend of mine who I had played Select A Soccer with since I was 8 told me about the game Freshmen year in High School, in September 2004. He quit a while back, but I still play, sorta.
  4. I'm sure your tactic of leaving the Penance Healers to the end makes sure everything works fine, but when one gets to the higher levels, those things don't die fast- it's not efficient timewise to just disregard them. As a Level 5 Healer with over 1000 extra points in the position, here are my personal rules: Rules: I don't go with anyone under 80 combat, unless they really know what they're doing. Under 70 combat is right out. I don't like to go with an attacker under 90 combat, as then I basically spend the whole game babysitting them and tending to their wounds. Advice: As a Healer, unless you have a team of level 120's and a Defender who doesn't update you, you're going to be running like hell throughout the entire game. For this reason, it is especially useful to note that the spring restores not only hp, but run energy as well. Use the spring to make sure you can always be running. Don't worry about messing up. Jagex was very generous towards Healer mistakes, compared to Defenders and Attackers. It takes a full 4 mistakes to lose even 1 point. So don't get too ticked if the food changes while you're in mid run towards that monster. Every 20 hp of other players healed equals one point. So, if your teammates can find a way to get hurt without getting killed, healing them can be very useful pointwise. With a high level team your focus should be on the food to call out and taking out the monsters. On a low level team focus more on the lower level players' healths, especially the attackers'. Find a Defender teammate who likes to beat you to using their horn and pointing out the next food. This type of competition leads to much better efficiency, and it's fun to win  . As is stated by the author, leaving the Healers alive isn't a huge problem. You want to get rid of them to make sure your team doesn't have to wait an hour, but killing the Healers shouldn't be top priority. Feel free to mount the cannon at any time in the game to kill Runners. Your Defender, and your score, will probably be grateful to have less of a problem to deal with. Remember: Runners have 5 hp, whereas other monsters about 30+ hp. It's much smarter to kill the Runners, especially with them having such a strong effect on your team's score. Don't forget that it's not a set rule to watch the lowest level more. Attackers get hurt more, and some people wear weak armor, if any. Make sure to include these factors when monitoring players. - I'll see if I think of anymore later.
  5. If anyone need a level 5 Healer, I'm game :). I'm not very versatile, to be honest. I stink at attacking, an have little to no experience in collecting and defending. So, just stick me at healer  . Oh, and I'm 99 combat, 82 defense, with Guthans. Basically impossible for me to die as a healer. Oh, and at the time of this post I'm at Wave 9. Team dispersed because one kept lagging out (we ended up leaving three nearly done games in a row because of the defender's connection. Baaaadddd on level 9).
  6. If that is the right name of the song, then it's because the first 2 lines weren't changed (I think)  So that's why.... guess my would be pathetic artistic intellect just got reburied  . Eh, I'm left sided at heart. Or my head. Whatever #-o . I'm also not sure if that's the proper name of the song, can anyone confirm?
  7. This goes to "I Will Survive", right? I dunno if you just rock at this, or if I'm just weird (probably both), but I was humming this song to "I Will Survive" 3 lines in, wthout even realizing what I was doing  . Nice job lol, pretty koo :P . EDIT: Made my post before getting to the middle, ya, it's hard not to figure it out once you get far enough into it  .
  8. Seems a little Off-topicish to me, with the word "Runescape" thrown in randomly to keep it on this forum, but I guess I see what you're getting at. Currently I'm not fully dedicated to either side of the issue- having one innocent person go to jail for life is bad, but having ten murderers go free can't exactly be considered a great alternative. If the ten guys couldn't be convicted later I'd probably go with the one innocent man in jail for life, cut my losses. But that's just who I am- a soulless person who only looks at the numbers. Meh, guna need a revelation soon  .
  9. Meh, I think it looks pretty good; it seems like a "tough guy" outfit. I might get one and wear it around, that is, if it wasn't for the fact that I have so much homework this week that I can't get on the computer -.- . EDIT: Edited out own spam.
  10. Who uses a Rune Plate at the Dagganoth Kings  !? Wait, did you just say "solo maging" in a Rune Plate  ?!? Rune plates havn't been used at the Kings in about a year, get with the times :P .
  11. Note: Just a quick question, but did you pull those numbers for the skills and quests out of a hat? You know there is a set number, you don't have to guesstamate :? . I can understand that they would never use ecto. Hell, I've only used it once. Realizing that I guess it is acceptable that he may not understand the mechanism. Still, please do not dismiss Ecto as trivial. In the time it took that player to get 120 combat they would have been playing in the age when Ecto was well known- whether he does or does not feel a need to use it does not mean he's not even going to know what it is. And is it really up to the player to decide what is trivial or not? I suppose that it's relative to some limited extent, but, as an example, I doubt that someone's opinion of the Abortion issue as "trivial" is going to mean much. The Ecto is pretty famous, so some level 120 calling it "trivial" also probably wouldn't mean much :? . The only possible way that this 120 would be permitted to call it trivial is if he or she started playing after Gilded Altars were made (which put Ecto in the dark a fair amount), and then leveled to 120 going so fast that they probably would have no time for other skills. That would be a near impossible feat, but if they pulled it off they would have successfully played Runescape never in the time of the age of Ecto. Because I didn't feel like writing a three page paper on it...? The questions were yes or no, so the fact that I said "yes" shouldn't be surprising. Also, the fact that I'm denying what you assume to be obvious probably means that it was not fully rhetocical (which has an 'h' in it, by the way). I also didn't see you denying my response in this part of the post :-s . First tell me I'm wrong, then insult me. As of now it appears that you aren't disagreeing with me, let alone providing proof as to why I'm wrong, and resorting to an insult to cover it up. If you're absolutely desperate to know, a real chemist may not have every piece of data memorized, but most work with molecules so much that they've got even many of the smaller details ingrained into their mind. To that point it would be surpising to find a chemist who didn't know what Fe was or what kind of metal it was, in the same way it'd be surpising that someone with an assumed year or so of experience to get level 120 would not understand the Ecto. To the point of theorems, much like the chemist, mathematicians aren't going to have every detail down, but to be a true mathematicion they usually understand and know almost all of them. A good example for the Iron:Ecto analagy would be, say, the Pythagoreon theorem, or even something like the law of Syllogism. I hate when people resort to this as an unnecessary insult. I mean, it's not even an insult; I'm in third grade, so thanks for the compliment :D . Your post was about 30% opinion and data, and 70% completely out-of-the-blue insults. For future posting it'd be nice if you could work on that.
  12. Defense. That'd rock for Mage DK'ing, and I seriously need to get my defense level up >_<.
  13. I know, I do the same thing, but that's honestly beside the point. I'm talking about the most efficient way, with Dragon Bones, to get to 99 Prayer before gilded altars (for those who have the cash to do it), not what's the best thing to do in every single circumstance. You aren't going to get 99 prayer simply burying Fire Giant big bones, which is why the Ecto is much more famous in regards to the Prayer skill. I'm just saying that it's a very well known method of gaining Prayer experience, thus it is surprising that a 120 doesn't understand it. Talking about what you do when you kill Fire Giants doesn't really pertain to the argument that Ecto is pretty famous.
  14. Should a mathmatician have EVERY theorem memorized? Should a chemist know the entire periodic table by heart? just because he's level 120 doesn't mean he knows everything, just like you wouldn't expect the chemist to have the atomic mass of polonium memorized. I could know the atomic mass of polonium just like you could know how to ecto. It does NOT mean i'm better at chemistry than the chemist or that you're better at runescape than the 120 AT ALL. you seem to be under the impression that learning every small nook of the game is important...with 30 skills and over 100 quests...not really To answer your questions, pretty much yes. And pertaining to the second boldface part, with the usual year or so it takes to get 120 combat (or at least it should), one generally picks up things like how to Ecto. Not every 120 is going to know where every single elf spawns in the forest, but Ecto isn't exactly a trivial matter like that. Before Gilded Altars Ecto was the best way to get Prayer experience, the best- I wouldn't call that a "small nook of the game." That's why his post is significant.
  15. Either single handedly winning a game of Castle Wars for my team (I generally like to play games of like 20 v 20, not those huge chaotic games, so it's possible :P ), or my favorite being fighting all three kings at once, which probably goes for all DK'ers. To be honest, if I mage pray and hold off Rex or Supreme behind another King, it's managable at my level  . I remember one fun game of Castle Wars though. At the end of the game, 2 minutes left, the game was tough with both teams evenly matched at 5-5. No one seemed to be going for the flag, so I rushed up the other team's castle, grabbed the flag, and ran out like hell, leaving barricades in my path to survive. I ran to the rocks, using bandages like crazy with an army behind me, getting torn apart in my Ahrims. There was one obnoxious Entangler that I had met throughout the game whom I ran into as I rushed up to my castle. With probably seconds left I dashed up the Castle with the entangler behind me, but never hitting me. The entangler shot one more blast at me before I got up the second to last stairs, and thank God it missed. I sprinted up the last set of stairs and scored through a few more players, and was teleported to the main lobby 5 seconds later. I didn't realize it before as seconds left aren't shown in game, but if that Engangler had hit me once we wouldn't have won  . We won 6-5, closest game I've ever had.
  16. Myself, I used SS once a few months ago, guess I didn't really feel like going back to it  . I don't want to be too offensive, but to everyone who seems to think SS is a necessity- I play with the regular window, and I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. You're all acting like spoiled brats who've lived with the better stuff so long that you can't stand to use the things that us normal people use, while we find nothing wrong with using the regular Runescape window. Honestly, if you can't live without SS (and seeing as how most of you who use it are arguing that it gives no real advantage, it shouldn't be that hard to give up) then you're pathetic.
  17. Blame Freshwacka :-$ . (Fresh, you know you made a ton of survey threads before this epidemic =P. Speaking of that, maybe this is a new disease that needs to be diagnosed.... hm... )
  18. I love my irony served with a nice salad. KNEW someone was going to do that. Monkey old buddy, it was a typo; he was just trying to get a point acros- people need to learn to type properly. Luke knows how to spell "don't", he just made an arror while typing. People at Tip seriously need to stop wasting there time on a post to belittle someone for one small typing error. At this rate Tip.it's going to turn into the next Pompeii :| . Getting back on topic, I've always loved plain Dragon daggers, they just seem so cool. I also love my Mage's book- got it the weekend it came out and I've never sold it or bought another :) . Ahrims+Karils Top also looks pretty nice, especially with a Mud Staff.
  19. Dagganoth King massacring, with a little Castle Wars Barraging splashed in occasionally.
  20. I just keep the things I need. Full Karils Full Ahrims Full Guthans Verac Bras and Skirt (Castle Wars- mage) One set of Rune&Rockshell Toktz-Ket-Xil and Granite Shield (DK'ing) Barrows Gloves Black Dragonhide Full Mystic Hm... guess that's it, I think.
  21. Generally Herblore. I've always liked the skill, just never felt like spending my time clicking and dealing with the a-hole Runescape player market.
  22. The "yawn" emote. Trust me, hold the other teams flag in Castle Wars, Ice Barrage a level 70 in rune (any Ice spell will suffice I suppose), and yawn in front of him. It will become your favorite emote.
  23. Purple party hat. Sell it and buy myself 62,500 Barrages.
