  1. [hide] See, that's the thing that makes this ridiculous. Waterboarding at a -9 or -10? I think it would be exaggerating to call it a -4. You're awfully naive about the amazing ways human's have invented to inflict pain on one another, both psychological and physical. Which is the crux of the matter - when you consider what other atrocities are committed today, forcing people to spend exhausting hours playing a computer game to make you money doesn't even come close to genuine "torture". I like how you automatically assume you know everything about everyone. Sorry, but that's just not true. This particular friend doesn't go to parties, and doesn't spend time socializing with his classmates besides the rare moments he has between classes. Why? Because he's at his home, either studying, or sending e-mails to his professors asking for clarification about the homework, because the professor stated "0 < x < 0" in the homework assignment. Just because some college students get off easy doesn't mean all of them do - there ARE genuinely hard-working college students who spend ridiculous amounts of hours, cutting into their sleep, just to keep up. Not so many decades before that women weren't people under the law, so does that mean that it would still be okay if other cultures treated women like that? Oh, wait. That actually happens, and we all get upset over it. Also, I'm pretty sure those children were not hit with metal pipes and allowed to have a proper night's sleep. I don't recall who said it, but I once read (and I'm paraphrasing here) "You can judge a society on how it treats is prisoners.". Actually, I'm pretty sure this kind of schooling still exists today. I've heard horror stories from my cousins still in Taiwan about how harsh their education system is recently, but they're quite ambiguous. The only more detailed accounts I have are from my parents' generation, which is why I said "a few decades ago." To be fair, the reason my friend's college life is so miserable this quarter is because his professors are incompetent as well as ridiculous. Normal college students don't have to put up with crap like assignments undergoing 5 different corrections because the professor can't figure his own class out, all done the night the assignment is due. [/hide] Look, if I try, I can think of things FAR worse then waterboarding. Or, for that matter, things worse then simply inflicting physical pain. What I'm trying to say is, I DO NOT GIVE A MOTHER [bleep]ING [cabbage] how much worse torture can be. My point is, forcing a guy to mine all day and not letting them sleep is, at the very least, some sort of prisoner abuse. And I think people are really forgetting that it's not "You are my prisoner, go gold farm for 12 hours" it's "You are my prisoner, I don't care if you just spent the last 12 hours doing back-breaking physical labor, go gold farm for 12 hours." I think most people are missing out on this point. You forget, telling someone to stfu is more or less part of freedom of speech.
  2. Allright. Let's put it this way. Let's make a line of numbers between -10 to 10. Now, waterboarding someone 183 times in 30 days gets a -9 or -10. Probably -9 because I somehow doubt you couldn't find something more sadistic if you really, really tried. And for 10, let's say having a very nice time with members of the gender you are interested in. I'm phrasing it like this for the small percent of the population whose interests are different then the larger percent of the population. Now, obviously forcing a person to mine all day and goldfarm all night doesn't get a solid -9. But what we're trying to say is, that doesn't earn it a number somewhere on the positive side either. The question isn't whether or not it's the worse form of cruel, unusual, obscene punishment (although it obviously scores in the "unusual" category.) The question is, DOES it qualify as some sort of obscene punishment. Which, imo, it does. How does forcing a guy to mine for 12 hours then not letting them sleep sound? Don't compare it to being waterboarded 183 times in 30 days. I just want to know if you consider it excessive punishment and/or torture.
  3. Where do you really need the +3 mage attack or whatever the master wand adds? +3 mage attack is not going to be more useful then the 5% extra damage* sol adds or the 10% extra damage* the chaotic staff adds. The only thing the master wand has going for it imo is that mage pures can use it. *In the magic damage column. Also, what's the amulet of ranging like compared to fury again? Overall your list was pretty damn good but a few areas not 100% accurate.
  4. Should work towards empowered fire, though. The 10% really helps and entgallow trees are everywhere. Which is why I still need 88 fletch. Grah.
  5. How would it not be doable? If (NPC_CMB > MY_CMB && !onTask()) rightClick = false; or some variant... It might be that easy. Depends on how the right-click options are coded in the first place, remember. For all we know, making that work would involve an overhaul of the entire right-click a monster coding. Or it might not. If it is simple, the I support. No. Finally, considering what the trimmed completionist cape requires, I think all these kills and the DG journals should be added.
  6. A bit random, but the problem with most anti-bot solutions I see people come up with is the screw over the current bots. People forget that bot writers can just write a new bot to deal with the method that killed the old bot. But seriously, if Jagex truly wanted to take a stance on botting, they need harsher punishments. People used to bot on throw-away accounts because they didn't want to risk their main. Now people frequently train or make money with bots on their main because the risk isn't really there.
  7. Isn't there only the one guy with the trimmed cape tho?
  8. Hah! Maybe. But only if you code it so if a monster is a higher level and isn't your task, no right-click. I don't think that's doable so no. Just level up combat till you can right-click XD
  9. Yeah I agree, preserve the combat level-up thing. Uh, all fight-cave creatures, maybe all tzhaar period tho? Idk. Shame about the bolts, the one thing they had going for them was mousekeys, plenty of other afk options anyways. I think the update is good (happy about the ba horn fix) left-clickable monsters... the actual update itself (aka death hats) is rather meh to me.
  10. Chances are you aren't fighting that high level melee monster in a full set of weapons and armour, while the monster is. Also, when it comes to melee, attack style and armour weakness make a huge difference - the average crush defense of a platebody in DG is typically half that of the slash or stab defense of the platebody. When a monster has a particular weakness to one attack type, be it stab/slash/crush/range, it means that NPC is probably coded wearing armour of some sort. (Mage is kinda iffy, as monsters with a magic level having really low mage def. Look at Karil.) Although this is seen to some extent in regular RS (see dragons, waterfiends) it is far more pronounced in DG.
  11. When I go to frost dragons and don't see any bots (assuming I could tell) then I'll believe Jagex is taking a firm stance towards bots. I think Jagex is trying to come up with a balance between enough banning and anti-bot PR to try and look good to all the players annoyed at bots, while keeping the punishments light enough and not always banning people in order to keep the bot owners paying for membership.
  12. Yes, Yes, and no. Since bosses are generally rather fun and no one wants to risk their stuff I said heavily botted. Although there IS a dg bot, I don't think it's widely used; DG is considered fun by a lot of people afterall, plus DG is rather complex meaning the bot has very poor performance (so I've heard.) Slayer is botted too, I know this, but combat/slayer is considered more fun and less of a grind so people are less likely to bot it. I haven't noticed many slayer bots (actually not sure if I've noticed one) but that means nothing... Not actually that sure on slayer, but I really don't believe DG is heavily botted.
  13. Not even gonna try to read that.
  14. This is my new background. Damn u fake wannabe links@@ ps: This is what obt wants me to do when he does research. NEW IDEA: YOU MUST MAKE A MAZE OUT OF THOSE AND FORCE SOMEONE TO NAVIGATE IT
  15. As someone else said, I fully support this except for the eggs because those things are very common from MTK. Have it apply to non-tradeable rewards. I'd personally like it to have it that if it's a 1/X drop, your guaranteed to get it after X tries no matter what, although 2X or 4X would be fair too imo.
  16. Slayer, DG, bosses are probably the only things not heavily botted tbh.
  17. Bandos ChestPlate.
  18. A little different because I assume she uses both hands to type or she uses just her right hand for the number pad. YOU use both hands to type! And what hand uses the number pad means nothing. It seems like a valid theory to consider that artistic vs mathematical abilities affect right vs left brain development which in turn affect which hand is likely to be dominant. But implying that you do math better by using a calculator with your right hand? On the other hand, there are various factors which affect which hand is dominant. A left-handed accountant doesn't disprove anything, she's simply an exception to the rule (if this rule is valid.)
  19. My mom's a left handed-accountant. Wat.
  20. Because you can be anyone over the internet, its a little harder to lie irl. If you want you can add me on RS and I can be a 18 year old asian girl. It will be loads of fun. It's rather hard to meet up with a 5"10 white dude when you're looking for a 4"11 asian girl. JUST saying. And anyways, it's called being smart and meeting them at like the mall or some other public place, rather then a secluded cabin near an uninhabited lake. Meeting up with someone on the internet requires things like common sense and just proceeding slowly (like, get to know them, see pictures, then voice chats, followed by webcam chats, THEN meet up IRL. At a mall or some other public place.) Only because you're cute ;) This.
  21. Yeah. Everyone knows the guys name is DONALD. Not Dave...
  22. I'll say the vast, vast, vast majority it is not personal choice, for infants and small children are too small to give consent to everything. They can't consent to anything in fact. But hell, I don't care. But since it does piss of religious folk, I hope it passes. Wow. Really? What have you got against religious people? I personally don't care one way or another. Um, so for everyone who says its painful, did you not like read the part about anesthetics? If you want to pull that card, why allow parents to make any body-related decisions for their children at all? Oh for christ sake, circumcision is a choice that should be decided by the guy himself when he is old enough, not due to religious or whatever belief, unless it's a medical situation. This is my, so it seems, crazy viewpoint on this forum. I'm glad my parents decided to get mine done as an infant. If you wait until the person is conscious enough to make the personal choice, that would mean he's now reached the point where circumcision is more painful, difficult, dangerous, and will now actually be aware of the not so comfortable experience. So circumcision is a painful, difficult, dangerous, uncomfortable medical procedure that is FORCED upon a very young child. The benefits of circumcision are miniscule in a first world country like the United States. It IS forced mutilation. In many places, forced mutilation is considered torture. Let's say I create a religion which follows our god saying that we must cut off our big toes. Nobody would allow or support it. But they support and allow circumcision... TL;DR Circumcision is (in the way it is done without consent of the victim) a human rights violation. If you want to cut off your big toe because you think God told you to, go ahead. Lastly, this:
  23. Can anyone post a link to this FaQ? EDIT: Nvm New question: Does the BA horn work NOW? Or do we have to wait for the next update? EDIT2: Nope. Next game update I guess.
  24. Seems like a lot of sense in this. Hope they come through with it I really like the idea of the BA horn working too. Basically, once that's done, I can just get a bunch of SC axes, BA horn, maybe a couple of summon pots and lava titans, and get tons of good afk exp. Rather annoyed that they forgot it considering I spend the past few days before the update filling it up...
