  1. You also forgot that curses are generally considered better for magic; since ones magical defense is based off of magic, say leech magic becomes really effective because it both lowers opponents magical defense (at max drain, it would lower your opponents magical defense by 17.5%) while boosting your own magic (10% boost at max boost.) Thus making the use of Augury even LESS useful. Note that I still think Melee > Magic assuming maxed melee and extremes.
  2. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. Barrows. They have BARROWS armour. They are essentially players with maxed def, hp, 0 prayer and summon, with 99 att/str for the melee'ers, 99 range for Karil and 99 mage for Ahrim. Wearing barrows armour. Even Ahrim is seen using spells off the standard spellbook. They should give him bind and fire surge tho... As for NPCs using combat styles, I'd expect them to use combat styles but to always use the SAME combat style.
  3. Also, if you're on lunars, you could, ya know, talk to almost any villager and have them tele you off the island? Lol. You don't need the boat. Unless you want to start debating the advantages vs disadvantages of toggling off the seal of passage after beating the elite fremnik diary...
  4. Pretty sure you just have had to have gone on classic on your account at some (recorded) time in order to get the cape. In fact, a brand new account could eventually get the cape I think, seeing as Jagex plans to re-open classic every like 6 months or whatever for new* members to try out classic. *A new member is defined in this post as a RuneScape account that currently has members and has never gone on classic.
  5. Pah. We might get our asses kicked by natural disasters every now and then, but we've reached the point when we're far more then a "nuisance." With wide-spread nuking and nuclear winter, we might be able to pretty much wipe out 99% of life on the surface, the last 1% of which would started a slow and possibly inevitable decline into nothingness (depending on how long nuclear winter lasts) leaving pretty much nothing but deep sea life. And course, it's all theoretical. Can't really test it. And once we're out of the picture, well, hardly matters much imo. But we're FAR more then a nuisance.
  6. Idk if I'll even do this considering the horn doesn't work there.
  7. This. The article i skimmed(first one) quoted a lot of scripture, and yet despite that who ever wrote it forgot the fact that it's written that no man nor angel knows the date of judgement day. Realistically it would be possible to make any day seem like judgement day with the math they used of adding and multiplying random numbers of significance together. It saddens me to see things like this, really              This. To be honest, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if the apocalypse WAS in our lifetime at somepoint, but that's got more to do with the invention of nukes then anything else. (Because of the fact that, frankly, humans and our nukes could pretty much CAUSE the end of the world if we tried.)
  8. Chipped tabs means that house location choice is pretty much irrelevant. However, the original purpose of this thread was to ask a purely mathematical question with somewhat arbitray restrictions that, frankly, are in no way practical or useful or efficient.
  9. It's actually better & quicker to mage necrolord. Iirc, fire surge with t10 blitzer is better than a gravecreeper longbow/shortbow with sag arrows - not to mention making runes is quicker + most people have a csb bound. You can remove the cooking/firemaking requirement as cooking/fishing is never done in good floors. 99 craft + 90 hunting are good, but not needed. A more realistic level would be 89 /80 assuming you have a hex bound. The farming requirement is way too high, nobody ever makes rejuvs - 84 for lycos makes much more sense. Woodcutting is alright but not really needed unless you have the rc level for emp fires. Fletching should be 78 for gravecreeper staves. Rc 80 for emp fires. Speaking from experience, you should have 80wc/88 fletch for making emp fires. Half the dungeons I DG on are full of high level wc'ers/fletchers or whatnot, causing like ~75% of trees to be t9 or t10. Maybe a bit of an exagerration, but I seriously believe the ability to make t9 staves very useful for making emp fires.
  10. So, the only thing going for it is afk-ability (which you could do at LRC too? not sure on that) and the golden armour, whose usefulness is cut in half if you aren't lava mining. Noice.
  11. Many months ago, you probably didn't have PKers to worry about.
  12. why would that be? Maybe this is due to the fact that Jagex kicks everyone off and it takes a while for them to get back on? Not this again. 1. There's a large number of reasons why someone wouldn't log back on. Many people might decide to go do something else when they get kicked off for an update. 2. A well enough designed bot would have an auto-log in feature. 3. We don't need to discuss this for the 4rth time. ONTOPIC: Doesn't interest me that much. The gold armour is kinda dumb that it doesn't work with the varrock armour. Doesn't seem that afkable considering you have to re-click ever 1k exp. I don't see why - not like a bot couldn't just reclick or anything. And the laval flows move anyways, don't they? I might do this for 75-77 mining, once I fill up my horn.
  13. Probably not worth it considering how slowly the sighted mage bow kills stuff. The difference between that and better range/melee weapons would be far greater then the slightly increased accuracy, imo.
  14. Again, the 5k c wars requirement offers nothing but aesthetics. Personally, I see nothing wrong with it. The biggest argument against it basically comes from someone whose argument boils down to "I want it but I don't want to do the work" or "I want it but think the amount of work is excessive" I know of no logical reason it should be lowered. Personally I think it's fairly well balanced, especially that the trimmed one doesn't offer anything extra. Liked the fictional
  15. I called it purely subjective based on a part of your post I misread. I should apologize for that. I'm sorry. Anyways, this thread doesn't belong in the meta-gaming forum, as you are asking a purely mathematical question of no practical purpose, which will therefore have no efficient answer. Also, I just realized my answer fails; it states yanille is the best house portal due to 3 locations in wizards tower. However, a non-yanille house with a yanille port also covers this. Depending on what we consider the range of overlap, glory gets you to varrock. And fairy rings, which lead to canifis... I think the real answer lies in determining all the places that overlap with the glory/fairy ring setup. Unless you want to ignore the house glory? Also, the question needs to deal with the issue of overlap. Does, say, Edgeville overlap to Varrock? Edge/fairy rings to canifis? Should we just ignore overlap entirely? Should we create a "range" of acceptable overlap? Also, what's an acceptable run distance? Varrock to spirit trees is supported by you; if we are following that pattern, glory>edge>fairy rings should be supported...
  16. I'm sorry, but at this point I'm beginning to think you're just trolling. With the possible exception of Varrock, the Canifis portal is the most useful of the lot. oh yeah real professional you guys...I guess this community just can't get serious after all and I believe I mentioned importance/usefulness is irrelevant in this. If we were to include that then how do we define it in a quantifiable fashion? It's purely subjective base on what activity you do. For me it's just a node in the network, and hopefully it's not a dead-end. fyi I don't know what a troll is and I'm not going to be bothered to know. That piece of information won't be useful to this discussion. Oh and thanks for making this topic "hot". It is an honour to have created such lively discussion. Now if any of you actually do know what geomatics is, I like to hear your thought on this. Thanks. We can't get serious about a question where importance and usefulness is irrelevant, because importance and usefulness are unquantifiable features? You are asking an efficiency forum for an answer to a purely subjective question and yet somehow hope to quantifiably find the answer? Furthermore, you are asking a question on a RuneScape efficiency sub-forum that has no actual practical or efficient answer, due to the way you insist on forbidding any transportation method that requires an item to use, excluding the use of a housetab to get to your house to start this journey or whatever you wish to call it. A troll is someone who purposefully makes controversial statements in an attempt to make people angry and make a forum topic filled with anger and maliciousness, for the record. They tend to do this by obstinately sticking to a particular point of view, coming up with many reason for their view, most of which fail when actual logic is applied to them. Now, from a purely mathematical standpoint, it is an interesting question. However, I think yanille wins hands down. There are 3 portals to be acessed from the wizards guild in yanille. This also solves the portal problem, as yanille will be the missing portal. Edgeville leads to fairy rings which cuts out the usefulness of the Etceteria spirit tree, so put the spirit trees in the other two locations. This fairy ring also cuts out the usefulness of a Relleka house as since you are on Miscelania you can easily reach Relleka. The desert house has no interesting locations or transportation methods because the magic carpets aren't free. You said that a taverly house can be used to access varrock due to minecart system, therefore a varrock portal can access the taverly house. Rimmington has the frost dragons near it, however access via fairy ring (because of edgeville house glory) you can use that method instead, albeit it is slightly slower. I cannot think of any other interesting transportation methods to involve that do not involve the use of some sort of item. I will lastly point out that none of my answers actually mean anything since you have already stated that this is a purely subjective question, thus defeating the entire purpose of asking it in the first place. /thread.
  17. What do you mean a combat mode? For that matter, how do players have "combat modes"? Either way, RS combat is based on an RNG system, which at the end of the day is based largely on luck.
  18. Get a house in yanille with two portal rooms to everywhere but yanille, a glory, an altar and preferably a summon obelisk. This really cuts down dependency on spellbook-teleports. Love story tabs really help. I don't honestly remember the last time I cast a standard magic teleport spell. I pretty much use tabs, more tabs, catherby, spellswap/lassar tele (closest tele to replace canon after frosts)
  19. If you ask me, the only thing 93 summon truly offers is beating the elite ardy diary.
  20. Um, this seems like a very.... artificial problem, considering no banking, ignoring the existence of house portal tabs, the fact that you can fairly easily find an alternative to all the spirit tree patches...
  21. General rule I've seen from DGS is only use a maul if you're str level is 20 levels higher then your att; aka if you'd use a maul that's two tiers better then then 2h. Since that's not the case for you, I'd go with the Gorg 2h.
  22. Chaotic Staff/SoL, Ahrims Top/Bottm, Mages Book/Farseer Kite Shield/Arcane SS, Inf Boots, Seers Ring (I) (if possible), barrow gloves, Full Slayer Helm, Arcane Stream Necklace. Use a wolpe because its basically an extreme magic.
  23. -wonders who's blog this is- Either way, it's freaking awesomely entertaining.
  24. Let's see... At first I said empowered fire staff > CCS. Someone disagreed. Then we got to melee'ers binding CCS as their third bind and how I said that's a terrible idea. The rest is kind of muddled. Allright. Well, considering how CCS hits higher then standard fire surge... all you need is some type of elemental rune drop or ess drop/cash drop, some time to RC, and you're hitting higher then CCS then with emp fire. A little more effort, but now that I think of it, it seems worth it in my opinion. As for melee'ers binding CCS... in DG, its generally better to be primary melee, because there's pretty much nothing you can't kill with a team of melee'ers. However, some things die much more quickly to mage, hence a surgebox. And if you're maging, a magic staff is useful, correct? As a third bind and all. Just for like one person on a team to mage with. Hence, CCS as a third bind.
