  1. Actually the game rolls 2 dice. Accuracy, and Damage. So if I'm casting fire surge, I roll a number between 1 and 280. BUT if my accuracy roll isn't high enough, i splash. So A splash is 0 damage dealt. But that does not mean my damage roll = 0. oh o.O
  2. Blitzer is better damage output, because of less overkill loss Blazer is better for kiting a boss (IE dreadnaut). Blazer is also better for rune Conservation, IE if you have a limited number of fire runes to go along with your celestial catalytic staff. As a keyer, Blazer is better for me since It let me pop off a single high damage shot while running around. Also the keyer always bosses, and blazer is generally better for bosses. Blazer's also better if you intend to learn how to fire surge with a catalytic staff. Otherwise, blitzer. Just to add to this, blazer's spec is "independent" from accuracy I believe (at least, it can spec when you hitted a splash with the normal hit - it might still be that the spec has it's own accuracy roll) - so for bosses/places where you often miss (*looks at necrolord*) and when you have low magic level *looks at own* the blazer will beat the blitzer. I've been told the opposite of blazers splash being independent from accuracy. I'll know for sure when i test it myself. edit: Did a quick test, Blazer special effect IS affected by accuracy. you won't blaze if you splash. Um, the short version of how Blazer works is it adds 50% more damage when it activates. 50% * 0 = 0. Splash = 0 damage. So.....
  3. Yes. They just don't stack. i.e., if you use two at once, you don'get get 4x exp. You'd get normal exp + bonus exp from boost 1 + bonus exp from boost 2.
  4. No offense, but from what I've seen, you were actually spamming in game, got muted and now you (hopefully) know better. It honestly sounds like a story about the muting system WORKING. Although from the sounds of it, a 24 hour mute would be better, and an appeal going through and ending the mute...
  5. Frankly, the only way he could be doing it is with spec transfer before it was updated, or two specs with the ring of vigour. I'll take a look at that video if you tell me what times he does 4 specs in a row. Due to the way the video is edited, you don't see many clear attack sequences, seems kinda hard to tell for me. At least the first minute, I really, really don't want to spend 15 minutes watching it...
  6. Is it possible to have any sort of discussion involving the efficiency crowd without it turning into a flame fest full of personal grudges and experience from H&A? That's a rhetorical question, the answer is no. Or so it seems... Tired, late here, but I'm thinking that it would've been better if there was a metagame forum or something where people could post proofs or something. Like, why GS >Whip. If someone is clueless and asks you a question, you answer politely. When the 235th person asks you the exact same question, you start to get annoyed, you start viewing these people as idiotic rather then clueless, and you stop being so polite. Not sure where I'm going with this >_< I guess that's what I'm getting it. I think this is what causes most of the bluntness in H&A. Dunno about the teenager part, leaning towards no but I'm biased (19 years old here.). Then again, I think 95%+ of the population would be biased for something like that.
  7. I was totally in the CC when this happened (at least the second kick.) Sheesh, why can't people read... I consider it a good idea though. Consider changing it up every now and then ;) I also attempted to swear at a random by typing asterisks, somehow the F word got in there, and I decided I had done enough livid farming... I want those strong melee pots =O More importantly, the lycopus for them. Anyhow, I totally support that check for reading the guides. Although, I personally wonder if it'd be a good idea to have it be a DG CC instead of a official DG clan resgistered on the RS site. Especially since it's on the first page of the highscores and all, which is pretty impressive. Jimi/jimmy is bloody confusing -.-
  8. wat. That's the most coherent thing I can say about that post. On what basis? Baseless arguments like these are good examples of what ignites flame wars, because you've simply not convinced/persuaded anyone to take your position, but may encourage some posters to argue against you. I'd say that some of the banned users have taken a step too far, and did nothing to help to resolve the situation. Some of the users were indeed unfairly banned, as rushed decisions were made swiftly which simply created this drama on Tipit. Name calling should never be tolerated. Too often it is, and instead of moderators dealing with the situation, it often lingers and builds up into a flamewar that we have witnessed in the past few days. I don't see the 'no naming names' rule as completely fair - Tipit should make an exception on naming players for illustrative purposes, given that the reasoning is plausible. Eg "John Doe keeps posting flamebait on H&A, someone sort it out please" should not have a punishment attached to it, because the purpose of naming names in that situation is not malicious. I'm not quite sure where I'm going in this little rant of mine. I'll leave this here I agree. Although the porno posters were banned rightly and should stay banned...
  9. Which explains why they're able to form a nice community amongst themselves. Right. I like and support this. Not that I plan to leave tipit, but I'm definitely going to visit that site for information...
  10. I think the X Bow would be worth it, although I dunno how pricey it actually is. I wouldn't bother with a dark bow for spec because your changing weapon and ammo just for one special.
  11. Heh. Wasn't being serious. Um, a slightly more serious one though, you could try to finish him off with some combination of venge, retribution and wrath. (Couldn't really control it well, but a wrath/retribution kill would be really cool since you get to come back to life.)
  12. How with Veng do you want me to kill Jad? No protection prayer and just using veng? Lol, more or less. With some combination of Torva/Brews/EEE to keep LP above his max hit. It's a largely sarcastic idea though XD Or, you know, somehow luring the healers so they heal each other and not Jad and blood barrage them for health. With spellswap. Yeahhhh. (Or Soul Split.) Tbh, its kinda a stupid idea lol.
  13. Fun fun. Looks doable, just can't afford to mess up much. I still think you should try the ultimate challenge: venge damage only. Bwahahahaha. (Get full torva first.) Of course, it'd take an hour because you'd need to heal with EEE a lot >.<
  14. Seems like the question was more a long the lines of "is the minimal amount of questing required to reach Godwars compromised of simply killing "Dad" the troll?" not "do I have to kill this guy because I'm worried about that fight"
  15. I haven't had nay problems with DGS. The purpose of this thread isn't to discuss DGS. We should try to avoid a flame war here about DGS too. How about we just leave it at this: some people do well, and cope well, with DGS. Some people do not do well, and do not cope well, with DGS. If the OP wants to get high DG, I think he should at least try DGS out and form his own opinion. As for rapier vs CLS, I have never heard of anyone who owned both a rapier and a CLS who considered the CLS better. To get back on topic, I think the chaotic rapier is definitely worth getting. If DGS/148/117 (in that order) doesn't work for you, try solo meds. I also think getting the stats for Nomads requiem won't be too hard and that you can beat the boss. Ultimately this is up to you however. Here's a question actually: after you get 99 slayer, what do you intend to do/fight? From the sounds of it, it seems pointless to acquire them for slayer. That leaves bossing, or more slayer if you want. (Some people like doing slayer after 99. I don't entirely get why, but that's ok.) At the end of the day it's your decision; if you do decide to get these you probably be glad you did, because you will be done grinding and will have the items. Most advice you will see here will recommend you get them. But no one's forcing you to. Of course, this only applies if you're going to be bossing or slayering or something.
  16. I personally bank at castle wars and take the balloon to Taverly. Requires enlightened journey, which is easier then Love Story to beat. You could also consider just moving your house to Taverly if you plan to kill dragons enough, and use house tabs to teleport you outside your house portal. 70 agility really, really helps.
  17. Yeah, I fail to see why this is in general discussion. I mean, I guess it doesn't need to be locked, but moved perhaps... I've seen topics closed due to lack of discussion. The actual, er, topic, in this topic, isn't one that generates much, if any, discussion. I used six commas in that sentence.

You're a bigger troll than Bladewing was. Just because Blade was very blunt and often posted TRUTHS which the unthinking majority didn't like doesn't make him a troll. Disagreeing =/= trolling. They should have given the choice of free trade and wildy, free trade only, wildy only, or neither. Edit: Damn you, sniped. Just throwing it out there, wilde only is realistically impossible. Otherwise you'd have restriction trade but unrestricted PK'ing. You'd have a system where two players face restrictions when engaging in an exchange of items and money, but a PVP system that enables an exchange of items and/or wealth without any restrictions whatsoever. FT vs Wilde&FT would've been nice. I only wanted FT.
  19. Mazchna for 9 tasks, highest slayer master for 10th. Although, kinda like what the above poster said, um.... the only thing worth really collecting with the slayer points are the rewards that help you slay. i.e. full slayer helm, finishing blows. Stuff like that. What do you want slayer points for anyways o_O (Or don't tell us if you don't want us to judge you negatively and just let the thread die >_>)
  20. Why don't the admins just make an efficiency forum and be done with it?
  21. Two wrongs don't make a right Just providing a rationale as to why "efficiency clowns" sound elitist. Motivation can be found for a lot of things. It doesn't necessarily make it tolerable. Really, I said this earlier, I think there are trolls, flamers on both sides of the debate. People purposefully troll at times, or just post misinformation of some sort that the efficiency people respond bluntly with. Possibly with swear words. Someone gets offended and this whole damned debate starts. Not trying to blame anyone in particular, people just have heated feelings about these sorts of thing and before you know it there's a flame war or something. *giggles* But seriously.... If thousands of years of human history has taught us anything, it has taught us that this is not the case.
  22. I can understand in that case why someone would respond to a poster like that and explain why that's a poor decision. I don't see why it should be reportable though. People learn from mistakes, and if someone like you explain why something's wrong, they learn. But if something like that becomes reportable, punishable, removable...people won't learn the why. Maybe your examples were meant to be more grey-area than that, but if I take you at your word...then what you're suggesting is removing the learning from the entire process. It's irresponsible, and I honestly don't think it would produce the environment you'd be hoping for. Better you should put the user on ignore than pursue such a road, because it wouldn't change anything for the better, but make the community cliques and urge to conformity higher than ever before. Like I said earlier, it only becomes a problem when they're vehemently defending their idea. If they say fish sharks, people explain why rocktails are better, and they go "oh." and stop, that's fine. But if they go YOU GUYS ARE ALL JUST EFFICIENCY TROLLS SHARKS ARE FINE IF YOU LIKE THEM STOP TELLING ME WHAT TO DO, that's when it's trolling, and it happens a LOT. Katori, I think you're confusing the efficiency crowd for one collective consciousness. I certainly wouldn't endorse that sort of thing. Best example: What's the best way to fish rocktails? - posted at X:00 oclock *insert best way to fish rocktails* - posted at X:11 *insert comment about killing dragons and fly fishing instead* - posted at X:17 Efficiency Troll: OMFG NEVER FISH ROCKTAILS DRAGONS ARE BETTER YOU BLEEP - posted at X:19 Non-Efficiency Troll: OMFG HE DIDN'T ASK ABOUT KILLING DRAGONS YOU BLEEP - posted at X:19 Idiot: Fishing lobsters is better. Don't claim either side is overall better then the other imo.
  23. True, but there comes a point where a person should look at the math and consider different money makers, looking for the best one for them. Maybe someone is looking for the best place to cut yews because they don't KNOW better money makers and need to be informed. The sword cuts both ways. On the other hand, maybe the person wants to cut yews for their own use for a sense of self sufficiency. Who knows. Point is, neither side seems truly right; I still like my idea the most (at the start of every post, point out whether you are posting from an efficiency standpoint or fun standpoint.) Perhaps a detailed explanation of WHY you're giving that advice. I.E. Go kill dragons for money and then buy yews, and cut ivy for exp; the overall rate at which you will acquire yews and earn WC exp will be faster this way. Go cut yews here because it's the best place for this reason. In virtually all H&A thread, there is a need to have the most efficient way put down. There is also place for alternative ways, so long as they aren't passed off as BEING the most efficient. Finally, at the end of the day, some advice will still be stupid and probably should be deleted.
  24. Why not just create some topic to hold all the damned efficiency stuff and be done with it. Ugh. No offense to efficiency people, this constant clashing is what really gets on my nerves. How about this. New rule. Every time you reply to a H&A topic, you must state whether the advice you are posting is coming from the standpoint of what's the most efficient or the standpoint of something that is fun. Bad advice posts from the efficiency side get deleted, and efficiency posts coming from the "fun" side get deleted. Omg problem solved. Onto world peace. Lol, life isn't that simple, but still. I mean, on the one hand I understand that people should be able to post different sorts of advice trying to tailor to the individual posters wants and that we shouldn't have efficiency "clowns" everywhere saying "OMFG DON'T DO THAT OR I'LL HUNT YOU DOWN AND KILL YOU BECAUSE THAT'S INEFFICIENT" but on the other hand, we don't need someone saying "OMFG GO GET A CLS AND KILL COWS FOR MONEY BECAUSE IT IS* FUN DURR" *Translation: I find it fun. "I" is defined as whoever posted that.
  25. *shoots this post to end it's misery* Ontopic: Become 138, overloads, rapier at least before you try Bandos.
