:shock: eh? this is the only time they have qualified for the world cup, and they won the african cup of nations 4 times, the last being in 1985 (over 20 years ago). Hardly a nation of much history in football is it? Cameroon or Nigeria, yes they are great teams, but Ghana? my bad then, always got the African teams mixed up. Ghana are not a bad team. If they were they would not be in the finals. They are certainly not the best but the USA will have to watch them when they play them.

I was just wondering why you kept talking about F1 then :P I was on it too, there's a british flag in the top right which changed the site to English.

I think any team would take a 1-0 win against Croatia any day, including Brazil. When the 2 sides last played in 2005, they drew 1-1. If I was a Brazillian I'd be happy with the win, it's only the first game remember.

I don't know much about the Le Mans 24hr race but I don't think it's F1 cars LP. Does anyone know how many drivers are in a team? Like 3 or 4, something like that I think. I've watched highlights of it in the past, but it's never been very big here.

USA have never been a great team in football. I don't know where you got that idea from. Maybe your media has been falsely building them up? (maybe the FIFA ranking helped this - they are are a load of rubbish) Also your expectations might have been set too high because they reached the quarter finals 4 years ago. They got lucky then. Now the Czech's are one of the best team in the world and no one expects a win when playing them(well maybe Brazil) But yeah USA have never dominated in football.

If I'm correct, until yesterday, they had never scored a goal in the World Cup...Ever? Uhh ya... Wellyeah, considering they had only been in 1 world cup finals before now(1974).

I think brining weapons into it would be a bad thing and I wouldn't approve of that. I believe only the parents should be allowed to discipline their kids physically. If some random teacher was to smack me with a cane then I would probably hit back then walk out. Corporal punishmen in school is bad IMO

What was the stat I heard tonight? Something like he has scored 8 goals in 20(?) major competitions matches (world cup & euro champ.). MIght have heard this wrong though.

Well you could see the potential there. You could kind of tell Brazil were never going to lose the game. It's only the first game so don't expect all their performances to be like that.

This is a load of rubbish. Are you saying my parents weren't good parents? I was smacked when I was younger, as were my two older sisters and we turned out fine and we certainly don't hate our parents. In fact we love them dearly.

It's pretty much what I expected from the game. Italy played well enough. 19 games they've gone unbeaten now.

Czech's played well, but I think they will miss Koller later in the tournament against the bigger teams.

Because FIFA rankings are a load of crap. Everyone should realise that. Have a look at the ELO ratings for a more reliable rankings http://www.eloratings.net/ (Just scroll down a bit, on that page, the rankings are under the points exchanged bit)

maybe people think there are any payed off referees in this world cup. no refs were paid off. The reason S. Korea made it to the last 4 last time was that they were playing at home with a brilliant support behind them, in the humid conditions they are used to. They wont get that far this time. Four years ago, South Korea had Guus Hiddink. I think Guus will take Australia to the Qaurter finals. I think S. Korea would have gone as far even if they didn't have Hiddink. Although yeah he is a good manager.
