Jagex breaks rule 9, encoraging other to break rule 15
When you're using a resolution that's too small to view it, that's the main exception. Jagex can't ban you for not having the budget to afford a 1024x768 monitor.

Picture Cropping Requirement Rule
This is an issue I come across quite alot now aday. People post pictures onto the forums, but don't bother cropping them. This is especially a problem for people who post a picture from a 1024x768 monitor and they're being viewed by a person on an 800x600. What I suggest is that a rule be added, where any picture of in-game play (or any picture in general), must be cropped down to either a view of the game screen only (no surrounding blackness or view of your browser), or crop it so that the absolute minimum amount of space is taken. Main problem with this is that oversized pictures stretch the window, and with it text stretches with it. This makes it very hard to simply read through, because you then have to go and use the horizontal scroll bar to see the rest of the text. I understand that if a picture did that but that much space was needed, that'd be fine. However the rule should then be a max dimension, where any picture exceeding it must be scaled to size. Perhaps the rule should also be made where if you're posting an image from an image hosting site (www.imageshack.us for example), and a Thumbnail view is available, that should be required to be used so that if someone wants to see the picture, they can click and see it. Otherwise they should be able to read through on their own without seeing it. This would also help people on dial-up connections. They could get right to reading the post without having to wait for the picture if they don't want to.

"Quick Reply Option"
I see what he's getting at. With slow computers or very slow internet connections, sometimes you just want to post a quick little message without any fancy enhancements (emoticons, fonts, ect). A quick reply feature doesn't show any of these, however they are still accessible if you know what the codes are and how to use them, such as the bold, italics, and underline brackets.

Obsidian Cape, a waste?
Well considering my particular Obsidian Cape was from a drop, I can't really say anything (considering I'm also lv98 combat and haven't even entered the Jungle). Although that's what I've been wondering about the Lava Cape as well. There was a conversation yesterday (I think) about why the 99 skill capes give less defense than a Lava Cape, when in actuality it's only +2 that the Lava Cape gives over skill capes (minus the prayer bonus). So I've been wondering why do people care? Given the Lava Cape has a strength bonus, but I still don't intend to go get a Lava Cape anytime soon. My obsidian cape is just fine thank you very much.

Fastest Hunting XP?
Alright, so I'm about 8k xp away from 60 hunting and I'm looking to get my level up to 66 or higher quickly. I know Chinchompas are fast, but are there any other suggestions?

Success or Failure capes?
It's these kind of topics I love. People are complaining over some item having +2 over another harder-to-get item. +2 isn't gonna make much difference in whether you live or die. You need to be getting into +50 or +100 before damage becomes an issue. Really, it doesn't matter which is better because at such high levels of defense bonus we obtain already with just rune armor, +2 isn't gonna do squat to whether someone will live or die.

Minigames?
Apart from Pyramid Plunder, all of the ones you listed as popular are entirely combat based. That's the main reason why. People are looking to train combat stats, and those mini-games break up the routineness of it.

May i ask you people to post illegal ad - thoughts here?
Unfortunately, all these sites advertising on google selling gold make getting legitamite ads becoming almost impossible. What Jagex needs to do is get in touch with google and have them remove ALL sites that have to do with selling gold. Jagex can then sue those sites and probably get a nice profit out of it...

Cannot connect to update server -- please help
If you don't have administrative privledges on your computer, there is a distinct possibility that this is the cause. I'm pretty sure that Runescape saves its data cache in the WINDOWS folder somewhere, so it may be possible that as a non-administrator to your computer, you are not allowed access to change/add/delete files in there. Note: Runescape saves most files (that I can see) to C:\WINDOWS\.file_store_32. If my theory was correct, then this is the exact reason why it wouldn't work. However it it was working before hand, then you would need to talk to someone about firewalls and stuff, because I would have no clue about them.

Audio and Disk Drive Don't Work
It would sound like a good idea to just reinstall Windows XP (or whatever your operating system is). However, this should only be done as AN ABSOLUTE LAST RESORT. By reinstalling windows, any drivers that were missing should be installed automatically.

swiftswitch?
The rules were updated to state that using a 3rd party client was not against the rules but however was not recommended. The 3rd party client does have to follow some guidelines however. Those guidelines are that it must not... 1) Block any advertisements Runescape uses 2) Automatically switch worlds for you/Make it possible for you to reach the log-in screen of a world that is full 3) Uses an embedded version of the client (your client links to the java applicate, not the page the client is located on) The client may however, use embedded applicants that do not affect the game itself, such as skill calculaters. The client may also contain a chat room (such as an IRC room), however the chat must be monitored so that there is no discussion about things that are against Jagex rules. It was the combination of the 3 "must not" reasons, as well as the IRC chat not being monitored to block illegal runescape chat, that was causing swiftswitch to be made illegal.

Kill Nested Quotes
Agreed... Say the topic was (extremely random) Kittens are cute. 5 quotes later someone puts in the side note "Puppies are cute as well" and we then get 3 more nest quotes about puppies while the quotes about kittens sit there meaninglessly as well...

And you know, that encourages people not to mess around. Either be serious or you will never receive service. It was their fault in the first place for not being serious, so now it's time that we do a "Boy who called Wolf" to them and not believe that you want a sig. As for the people with 0 rep, those people would probably have to look for the artists with less rep, and ideally their rep would gradually go up.

Sure you understood it? Cause I have absolutely no clue what I've said now...

But where do you obtain points from? You could simply work the points on a rep system. Quoting the features of another forum I use, I'll direct you guys to that link... http://www.xerocreative.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=59 http://www.xerocreative.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=61 These 2 links are to 2 sticky threads in a TCG trading board. On this board, people post what cards they want, and what they'll offer. Then they send them through the mail, and based on how the deal goes, rep is given. This rep is given by the traders on the second link. They simply post, say who they traded with, and say +1 or -1, indicating how their trade went. The first post is a post that contains all people with reps, how many they have, and people who should be stayed away from. Now how this could work would be the following: A person looking for a sig could find someone on the board. The person who receives the request could look up the requester's rep. If they have a good rep, then it means that the sig-maker liked the person, and gave them some good rep. Bad rep would mean that people do like was exampled above (time waster), or simply critisize to death any little mistake. A sig-maker could then choose whether they want to deal with that person or not, and possibly give "Minimal Rep accepted" amounts, where anyone who has a rep below that value should probably find someone else. A person who receives a sig could then, in turn, give rep back to the person based on the quality of the sig, how long it took them to make the sig, what kind of attitude the person gave to them, ect. This would show how well a particular sig-maker is liked, whether someone should waste their time with a request, ect.

Hidden Updates General P2P Subforum
And you know, that would be the beauty of that forum, now that we look at it. New Sticky: Chaos Elemental Translations People could put (in this new subforum) their takes on the translations. Rather than having a good 50 posts about them, they'd be condensed into one thread for people to look over and share ideas on.

Due to recent Spamfest
[img=http://www.orlyowl.com/orly.jpg] obviously a joke... i never post these kinds of pics in threads. That kind of picture I will sometimes post, but I usually add some kind of after-thought to them. They're never that big as well. Typically they're just some cute comment with an abstractly-relating picture that fits the topic/post perfectly. For example, in the Hidden Update thread, I posted this picture once when someone posted something that was already put in the checklist. It was just something cute, relevant, and got along the message. I'm pretty sure I also posted what they had and a quote to the list that showed it was already down...

All that this would clarify is whether you refer to someone as "He" or "She," as most of us refer to someone based on the "what rolls off the tongue" judgment. If I recall, Zezima said on the Official Runescape Forums once that he was a he, and his name makes him sound like a she to some people (although looking back on this, he and him came out naturally: maybe because I already knew). Although I do see how this could cause problems with racial profiling based on genders...
