  1. Most of all I just want them to focus on whatever the update may be. Such as to not repeat the dragon defender or rather the lack of a dragon defender update. Attack bots. Its becoming ridiculous again. They need to inform us that they know, whats happening and if they are going to do something about it. Perhaps think about giving players or player mods some extra power. Even if its to make mod reports important again. (As they are currently not.) Less minigames. Quests with requirements or a better ratio/balance. (Atleast one quest with a requirement - Make a runescape unprecedented update.) More high skill stuff - Continue on in developing the skills that havnt yet been focused on so much at the higher end. A new CEO if they dont begin reinforcing their own rules, think about how their own updates effect the players negatively (putting a stop to it - More this year than any other imo.), and attacking bots correctly with harsh punishments - Allowing legit players to have the upperhand rather than being made fools of. This year has had some very good updates but it has also had the worse decision making for a long time imo. Either that or they are becoming too cooperative and less community friendly. Besides all these community events.. (Which is usually lesser jagex employees?) Their actions show otherwise.. For me its mainly against bots and their stance has been highly controversial lately.. Bad karma for this year imo if they dont begin addressing serious issues rather than giving us more minigames. Peoples attitudes towards botting are becoming very thin lined.
  2. Well considering there is no proof at this time this just seems like another spammy OP atm stirring an issue that that many would wish would just die and stop stirring up old bad memories. Get on with the damn game as it is. Yet again no proof due to cant be bothered uploading further screenshots that apparently exist and instead only has some pointless picture that shows nothing. Its irrelevant at this time if its true or not. There is simply nothing to show it as being true and if this is meant to be ANOTHER topic about what would happen/what would it be like/whater topic then why bother putting a twist on it. Unless you post something that is unique instead of speculation about something you got no proof of then thats all it is. Theres no unique topic here unless theres something unique. Roll on the speculation threads... Now speculating/pretending mmg said those words of which this topic surrounds which has no proof at this time. I reckon whatever he did say was either taking out of context, half read, misunderstand, rumoured to hell, speculation went wild etc. If that really did happen goodluck trying to implement it with the rest of the game. Free trade and free pking with certain accounts and not others? Even with seperate worlds how the hell would it be tidy having a game where some people can trade but others cant. Does it honestly sound safe from a playeres point of view for this to be possible? There would be so many ways to abuse it that it doesnt seem like a good idea. If this topic later has some relevant useful information I might actually spend more than a minute thinking it over in my while and not while I am typing it.. I cant even be assed to check for spelling errors. Hell with grammer.
  3. Achieved this couple weeks back. Maxed out counter.
  4. Ergh this is such a poor effort for an update of this magnitude. I only just read about it and gone through this thread. When they first made this update in the past they made a huge mistake by not making adjustments for initial crowds. So like 5 years later when they release the dragon defender, instead of learning from this they just suddenly allow a dragon defender with no particular effort with the same lameness as before. There a competitive game and there is just lame gameplay. This is lame gameplay. Fortunately im not doing anything particually combat related for me to want to rush to get it. So in a few weeks I shaw try to get it. I also hear people get it fast. I wonder if that was done on purpose due to the crowds.. however that isnt a solution. That just makes for a poor update in general considering there was no new effort needed to try and get the drop. Seriously all they did was pretty much add a new item to a monsters database and a new type of monster while repeating all past mistakes. What the hell is that meant to be about. Its a dragon item that actually still matters! Rather continue to play more minecraft atm as it reminds me of why I enjoyed runescape when I first began. I not sure what to say except im disappointed in how they neglected all the possibilities available to make a much better introduction to the game.
  5. Its not suprising that jagex would do this but its just really bad that a company would be so irresponsible when it must be possible for them to both issue a rollback on stats aswell as 'wiping' their bank/quests/etc clean. Im not sure if this would cause other problems but when one stat, multiple stats or all stats - Along with everything else a account holds, even the info on the adventure log should just be removed - Would cause a negative reaction to others in any way. That way they can continue to keep making money from bots and using this as a 'deterrent' without any problems. Not doing so is just irresponsible to the legit player base. Atm it encourages botting both for casual players wanting to gain unique accounts and even for rwters selling those semi-unique accounts.. Some idiot probably decided this would make the company money without realising their own policy towards cheating. I bet they would love to sell items themselves too.
  6. Although I dont agree with jagex specifically setting a goal like 200m (or 104m or wtf for that matter...) - I think it just proves how players would go to the effort to gain high levels in a skill when there is more of a reason. Level 120 - So may aswell finish off 200m for some players. Instead of all the low rubbish stuff they bring out and the hs being relatively low on many skills, due to no reason to rise alot of them after a certain point. Pretty much how other online rpg games pretty much set up high level things to aim for. Runescape oddly being an exception for the most part.
  7. I have to be honest I tend to dread posting due the near certainty that I get flamed more than I dont on posts I do. Just random posts half the time. Ontop of that I have to force self will onto myself not to reply to it. It makes threads uncomfortable for a while until I feel the topic has shifted. People trying to be clever about something and its annoying. Sometimes when I witness others being treated like complete idiots for no reason and whoever was overreacting was wrong anyway I might say something but only when that first person seems pretty damn innocent like I feel half the time. Idk there are still times when things are polite enough and new update threads can be informative but there always certain posters that are rude for whatever reason. As for the screenshot thread. I honestly see alot less pictures that im 'personally' interested in because they seem pking/boss monster drops. I do neither of thesee ingame so the pictures just kinda boring for me personally. For skill level updates I just congratuate them in my head and see most of them as interesting nowadays.. I post as little as I can and more than I want to without feeling like a target just being a nobody for no reason if I do. I would say that includes the screenshot thread asmuch as anywhere. I reckon a good step would be to be more supported in that thread if nowhere else to begin with. I have become alot more 'nod in real life and think its cool' or wtf lol without bothering to reply to things that interest me. I also see that flaming and it really ticks me off a little.. if someone gets like level 70 or whatever. I like see all of that stuff. Instead of all the monster drops, though there is nothing wrong with that too.
  8. When rune knives sold for 3k/+ each and making hundreds of millions through free trade. Rune warhammers for 3x/2x the bar value. Thats smithed though not merched.. Suppose not many would remember lol.
  9. I just got tagged for this. Donno why.
  10. Except it isnt currently working. (For me anyway.) It isnt updating itself. >.< Ha.. Jagex.
  11. OK I been playing for quite a few hours now and gaining smithing xp but my new bar on stat icon for goal hasnt changed. Doesnt seem to be updating to me. Completely red lined. Unless you need a huge amount for it to jump along at stages. So for me atleast it doesnt seem to work correctly. This is a goal over 99. I mean I do presume that that red bar is meant to show progress.. Presumably meant to turn green. edit: mine has gone green a bit at last, but it seemed do it when logged and came back on.. idk maybe glitch.
  12. ^ Wow, u must of learnt how to jump for such a big achievement like that. Gratz. We should all get trophies to put in our poh. A huge wall of fame detailing how we know how to open the bank, close the bank, open the g.e, close the g.e etc. Be epic.
  13. Iv done one step better than that! I actually RAN somewhere by clicking.
  14. I seem to posted in wrong thread. How annoying. I will try to find a picture to upload.. - edit. Ok, Only thing I could think of was screening the new target thing as other stuff wasnt suitable lol. Excuse the horrible graphics being in low detail atm.
  15. Best bit is you can damn click outside the bank again to move when in resizeable. I honestly dont know what to say about the rest of it. I dont know if im missing something with the new skill self target thing. I was excited about this reading it in the updates but ingame I dont see much available. I can right click a skill icon and set a goal.. but its kinda bland and pointless to look at. I think they missed the point that the old version was nicer looking but didnt allow you to set actual goals unless it was 99 or under. Now its possible but hard to see and bland. Maybe im missing something with this though. I tried looking in various places but cant see any other options. The new minigame/week thing I dont think I be paying much attention to it unless I can think of a use for it. Graphical stuff is easier for people I guess. Besides being able to click outside the bank I just not sure of whats an improvement or not. ..oh yeh I prefer the new xp counter now. Thats better!
  16. I would say their understanding is somewhat similar to how many parents understand their children. Its not to say they dont care or want the best. Its just they dont know what it does in its spare time and how it grew up. They have a classic case of not listening which is not uncommon. They are unwilling to accept that the game is changing and growing into its own player run community. They wont allow it to grow the way the players want it to and continue to insist their own ideology. In other words - No, I think their [bleep]s they that need to both play their own game and listen to their players. However they obviously do seem to TRY which is something.. Obviously money is a priority to them but they do seem to care at the same time.
  17. If its a crowded spot either due to the world itself being unique or all the worlds being crowded then its acceptable. If its a spot thats easily empty on a different world (even if it means hopper upto 10 times or so) or there is a spot nearby that spot that is empty then its just lame to try and crash it. Most of the time you only slow yourself and the other person down. Some spots in the game are share-able but that generally isnt what would be labelled under spot stealing. If its share-able then go to the effort to share it. Anything with a cannon is nearly always a no no. For the record - I got all the best stuff available. I got the talent. However I dont go around spot stealing as its just lame. I hop for ages if necessary if I know what im hopping for isnt usually completely flooded like a boss monster might be. - If you feel like trying to crash me all you do is force me to pause the film im watching, (which is irritating but used to it.) slow me down a little per hour, and watch me rake in more kills than you. If your particularly an idiot like putting a cannon directly next to mine then I just keep blocking your cannon with my foe giving me more damage per hour. Its just completely pointless and slows us both down but I aint being 'bullied' or whatever into hopping. Especially if I had to hop 5 times or whatever to find a empty world myself. For the most part it has happened so many times that I dont care however I will continue to defend a spot since im there and dont see why I should be bullied. The worse is when im watching a film and feel like I need to pause it but thats just irritating more than anything. Like wasps when having a picknick. I hate wasps.
  18. Idk why people feel that way as I have always wanted higher content even when I was a low level player. However with the multiple bots I have stopped over the last few months and out of the ones who have spoken - They all seem very raged about the fact about how I 'spoilt' their fun and ruining their game. (Now I can understand a single player game or a game that doesnt effect others but this game effects others so its selfish.) They dont understand why I would go through the effort and just see it as stupid. Some of them might not even realise they are cheating I suppose. Some think its funny but they obviously just the kind of people that dont want to work for things either. With this kind of mentality they share for the game of putting no effort into the game. Then I can equally see how people who dont cheat and do play legit prefer to just have things handed to them. Difference is they just play within the rules compared to certain others. I guess being handed some things sometimes is cool and all but surely it should always be better higher stuff as people get better and higher skills and needing new goals to aim for. To me, without content or goals to work towards there is no reason to play the game. Content makes it alot easier to set goals, especially at lower levels if the higher content is very good. With other games I have to work for things. Runescape seems to use a different tactic of giving out the majority of low level content. *shrugs* Its terrible imo but how it is. The worse bit for me is that I know you dont NEED to do the new content if you dont have the levels for it. It seems irrelevant that at low med levels that those levels are the most content flooded already. They just want more and more without having to put in the effort into a game. Alot of it can be said to be down to ignorance due to having so much content and not knowing what its like not to have new things constantly thats more suitable for your level. How the hell are they ganna know whats its like not to have new content when nearly each week the content is directed at them. Ofcourse they arnt going to want that to change. Ofcourse its the high levels with no lifes that are selfish. They prefer it was them getting it all and obviously due to being the majority they think its them who deserve 99 percent of it rather than 2/3 or less. On a related note - Not everyone is like that and some lower leveled people prefer higher content. Its just some who dont.
  19. Well I can only speak for myself but when I was 4-10 years old and was gaming for the 'majority' of my freetime then I enjoyed it and didnt regret it in later years. Neither did I feel depressed or lonely etc as he described how he felt.. What I mean is - If I ever did it wasnt due to video games but other reasons. I also lived in countryside and everyone lived way too far away for me to visit besides when at school. Ditto for 10-20 for most part. Now im 20+ and I cant say how I would feel once im 30 because I am not yet 30. However I presume it is the same deal. Could be wrong I guess but I doubt it. I have done other things. Had different gfs. Gone different places. Had different experience doing other things. Out of all of these experiences, excluding being with a partner, I would say gaming was always the thing I enjoyed most. I got alot pride in what I do even if I know it meaningless (I feel life is ultimately meaningless so..) - I got personal pride in how well I do in stuff. I dont really care that much what others think and even try to stay under the radar. If this guy seriously got 'divorced' due to video gaming then I guess I congratulate him for giving it up..? Because I would never in hell allow it to go that far that my partner would give up. If she spoke to me and told me I was gaming too much I would listen or otherwise she deserves to leave, but I wouldnt let that happen, I would do something about it. Aslongs as she knew from the beginning what it involved being with me and just how much of my free time will probably be dedicated to gaming, atleast this time in my life, probably later too. She understands that and accepted it very early in our relationship. While I agreed that I would always make sure I spend time with her and make sure she is always more important. Now if he couldnt do that.. then I glad he gave it up. I dont have that problem but maybe when im 30 or older I may feel different idk. I can only say that I doubt it atm. I love it more than any other hobby I got ten fold. Thats just me and I like the whole sillyness of calling myself a gamer even if its just part roleplay or whatever want to call it. Its like calling yourself a 'footballer' except I dont care about that and prefer competitive games. It is more meaningless than say studying... but thats the point. Its meant to be more rewarding but its ultimately meaningless rewards. Doesnt mean you cant achieve both. I hope live a long life and a long life of gaming. Its brilliantly meaningless just like life. On the otherhand I may change as I get older but I doubt it. I am looking forward to gaming with my children aswell as more physical sports or whatever.
  20. I stop bots every day but a interesting thing happened to these two bots and I built a pretty room just for them. I also had a third one stuck behind the cannon for a while but it got randomed (haha) before I planted flowers and took a screenshot unfortunately. Those two got stuck due to fires from the third bot before I had a chance to block them too. Thats 6 today so far. Sundays are very busy botting days.
  21. Just under 15m or 7 days to go until I max this out.
  22. This is really really annoying. I actively stop bots with cannons so they gain no xp. I know it takes 4+ weeks for them to get banned and when they changed the punishment to only a temp ban I began using cannons to stop them gaining even a slight amount of xp while I continued to train normally nearby. So atleast they actively had alot less xp when they got unbanned. Basically now they neither get banned and I am wasting my time and can do nothing but watch them for week after week after week cheating as I play the game. Then still not get banned at the end of it.. if they even get caught. This week I been actively stopping a botter for like 5 hours a day for 5 days out of 7 of this week. He has been reported by a minimum of 8 people including 1 mod. He came online again today and once again I blocked him. For the first time ever he actually came online and spoke.. then logged. I stop anywhere from 1 to 5 or more a day. Last sunday I actively stopped (until owner hopped) 9 of them. But thats basically pointless now yet they probably still wont get caught and even if they are they aint banned. So sure it was ultimately pointless anyway but it sure made me feel better when I am training normally and got someone nearby cheating. I can either watch them or stop them.
  23. Looks like you're in a bank. What were you doing, alching? Smithing - Standing at anvil. Just got high res and only cropped the convo bit. That mod came back next day and continued calling me a bot and stuff to other people in the area. I happened to have a friend there at the time and they just laughed at them and informed them I wasnt. =p I get called a bot throughout the day by loads of people so I aint fussed. Sometimes its amusing but only when they keep complimenting me on my speed and efficiency. Otherwise I just turn public off for a while, letting them huff and puff out of sight.
  24. If that's a Dr. Who reference, it's a pretty terrible one, since "Are you my Mummy" is a stock pun that's used in pretty much every work that ever had mummies in it, so it doesn't actually have anything to do with Dr. Who. Why bother stating something is terrible if you know nothing about it lol.. Its a storyline set in ww2 about a child who wore a gas mask and was looking for his mummy. Long story short he basically ends up infecting people - Turning peoples faces into gas masks and also asking for their mummy. As odd as that sounds it makes perfect sense in the storyline and is FUNNY. (Or scary... depending on who you ask.) Nothing to do with Egypt or any type of reference to people wearing bandages lol. I doubt it even had any attempt as being a reference to other films that refer to mummy's being their mummy. Just happens to be the same words in a different context. Anyway.. Shame cant do that anymore I guess. That be funny to see.
