Farewell and thanks for all the fish!
Aw, man, you were so cool! I never met you, but I heard so much about you and you accomplishments. Too bad you're leaving. Just a thought, if you really like RS, you don't have to give it up forever. Get your real life settled down and in a regular schedule, then, in your free time, play a little RS to let off steam. I realize that once your life gets going (around age 20-22, IMO), it's hard to slow down, but don't forget your roots, man! Besides, if you do come back, think of all the updates that will have happened! Anyway, good luck in your future!

How Generous are You?
I'm not so generous when it comes to my money... On the contrary, I'm pretty stingy. : However, I've spent at least 6 hours helping individuals get through various quests (helping them get the items, fight the dragon, etc.). Some of them give me a small "tip" after I help them out... Others say thanks and add me to their friends list, and ask for more help later... and then there are those who just leave and I never hear from them again. But that's ok. I enjoy my work. :D

Repeat messaging
In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with autotalkers other than the fact that they do spam a bit. After all, the main point of regular macros (that chop wood, fletch, mine, etc.) is to work while the user goes and does something else. However, the point of an autotalker is to retype the same message again and again in order to get a trade offer... which the player then has to click on his own. Then, the player has to offer the items, and calculate if the other person is offering the right amount of money... The player has to be by the computer in order to do this. All the autotaker is doing is sparing a bit of wrist stress. As a matter of fact, I think Jagex should implement an autotalker of sorts into RS. However, to prevent spamming, the autotalker would only be able to type once every 10 seconds, or something like that. And for those of you who are wondering, no, I don't use macros of any kind. I respect Jagex's rules of play. I just think this particular one should be tweaked slightly.

Someone will sue Jagex! Information taken from forums!
Hehe, you know, he's threatening tons of people... Technically, he could be sued for that. Or arrested. You know, I pked somebody with full mith a couple days ago... oops, i think that was the same noob :P

Second Accounts?
I think you can have as many as you want, as long as you don't trade between them. BTW, what is drop trading, exactly?

How Obsessed!?
First, I think this thread is now kind of a double topic thread for this reason: People are obsessed with Runescape because they are trying to escape problems in real life, or they play because they are genuinely addicted. First topic point: If people have problems in real life (real or self-created), yes, I think they are going to be "obsessed" with Runescape. Although in my opinion, it's not really Runescape they're obsessed with. They're obsessed with escaping those poor living conditions, whether these conditions are honestly poor or just all in the person's head. Second topic point: Some people have absolutely no problems at all in their life. Some of these people play Runescape at every free second they get. These are what I think are the truly obsessed, aka addicted. When I think about it, I used to be like that, because all I could think of is playing Runescape. My grades dropped, I became grumpy when I wasn't playing, etc. Fortunately, I now manage my time much better so that I feel I still get to play pretty often, but not "obsessively". And as a side note, I feel really bad for those people who have to play Runescape to excape their real life. I hope no one here ever has to go through that. :(

Easter and Chickens?
I think the chicken is what people think about when they say "silly". I mean, what's funnier thatn chickens, right? I think that that's what easter has com e down to now a days (no offense to any Christians who are die-hard Easter people): silliness. The main figure of Easter is a giant pink bunny rabbit who hands out chocolate eggs which are colored in various fun colors. Obviously, Jagex feels the need to continue this trend of silliness by adding chicken themed rewards. Of course, this is just my opinion. Feel free to disagree. (At your own risk.)

The Great Tip PIC 2007 ~ AS GOOD AS DONE!!!!
I know Valor didn't want poses in the picture last year... Can we have poses this year, or still just standing regularly? Depending on your answer, I'll post a pic of myself later on this reply.

What is your worst or best pked moment?
i got a question about f2p rune miners... are they generally high combat level, or are they mostly skillers who can be killed really easily? My best PK was 250 mind runes at today's TET easter event. My worst moment was shortly after when I lost everything I brought with, including 50 deaths, 100 chaos, and 300 minds. Ah, well. That's life.

worst scam attempt
Wow... that's random. Trimming lobbies? What does he do, add food coloring? :^o :XD: I had this one: *This was in the West Varrock Bank vault, with the ruby ring, gold ore, coins, you know* Scammer: Selling key to vault! 100k Scammer: Selling key to vault! 100k Me: There is no key for that vault Scammer: Yes it works watch *walks over to door, logs out, then logs back on* *trades me to show ruby ring, gold ore, tons of coins* Scammer: Want to buy key? Me: why you disappear? Scammer: Jagex doesn't want ppl to know who's in the vault Scammer: Want to trade only 100k Well, I was a newbie back then, and I thought, oh, what the hay. I can make up that money with a key like that! I offered him 100k... and he offered a brass key. I decline and call him a scammer. Then, cuz I had nothing better to do, I hang out for a while and yell "(name here) is a scammer! Don't trade him!" until he logged out. Naturally he got reported.

SCAMMING ! ! !
I think this would be a pretty good idea. People trading with other people can see if there are any blackmarks on the other person's record, and then trade accordingly. It would be kind of like eBay's feedback system... every time the player trades, feedback (positive or negative) can be given. Of course, for merchants or other people who trade a lot, this can be a hassle to click aafter every trade.

The complete "Should F2P get updates?" Debate! 5,000 views!
I have a question about the free to play ads. Does Jagex get money just for displaying the ad, or does the player actually have to click on it for Jagex to get money? Or is it a combination of both? If both, does Jagex get more money from the company that paid for the advertising if somebody actually clicks the ad? If so, maybe F2P can help themselves. Somebody should start a week long ad-clicking campaign where all the F2P players actually click on the ads shown on the site (but don't necessarily buy what the ad is advertising). That way, Jagex gets tons more money (because of F2P) and therefore can spend a little more on F2P updates. Go ahead and criticize that point, I don't care. Economics is really not my thing. However, I do have one more point to make: If F2P get no updates, or just one or two minor ones a year, while members get three, four, five, even six updates a month, think of how the game will be in a couple of years. Members will have hundreds of quests, tons of skills, hundreds of new places to go, thousands of different items and monsters, and lots of mini games. Meanwhile, F2P will have almost nothing compared to members. Since the F2Pers have to buy membership based almost only on what they see in F2P, that's not a very big incentive to buy anything. The biggest thing that I think F2P needs to be able to "test drive" are minigames. There is absolutely nothing in F2P that requires you to team up with anybody to get rewards or anything, other than PKing, which of course is super risky for anyoone of any level. I say release one minigame for F2P (even if it's really cruddy, like a scavenger hunt game with a partner of something). Also, F2P REALLY needs more bank space. Just one row.

Well, no matter. I shall still be the greatest cook/fisher on F2P! Mwhahahahaha!

Magician Xy's Quest to 99 Cooking/Fishing
They are? Curses! I knew I couldn't get the fishing cape because you can only buy it in a member's world, but what about the head chef in the cooking guild for the cooking skill cape? Are skill capes only members? I really hope not  =D>

Don't show combat level when it's not needed
I would support this normally, but it doesn't really change anything to take away the combat levels. In F2P, the highest armor you can wear is rune, right? However, you don't have to have a combat level in the triple digits to wear that. Heck, I was wearing rune when I was level 42, which in all honesty isn't that great an achievement. However, if no combat level is shown, noobs are going to be asking everyone with rune armor for "phr33 stuf plox". Yeah, not looking forward to that. :P

Magician Xy's Quest to 99 Cooking/Fishing
I, the great and almighty Magician Xy, have decided to increase my magic level from the pitifully low level that it currently is. As a magician, I feel particularly embarassed that my magic level does not even feature in the high scores, despite the fact that it is level 43. However, though my strength is mighty, my wealth is waning. I have a mere 400k in my bank to spend on the runes required to raise my level. That will get me to level... Oh, I don't know... 50, if I'm lucky? No, that is not nearly enough for me to be able to (in good conscience) call myself a spellcaster. And so, to achieve the quantity of wealth that I desire, I shall begin my quest for level 99 fishing and cooking... by fishing lobsters and cooking them, then selling them to PKers for a very nifty profit. As I am F2P, I will be fishing at the only available F2P spot for lobsters: Karamja. Then, when my inventory is full, I will teleport away (probably to Lumbridge, though the best city is still being thought about... maybe Falador is better?) Now, the cost of this adventure will be enormous. I have calculated the what the profits should be, what the fees will be, and even how many trips to Karamja I will need to make. I will be updating this figures regularly, so that they are consistant with the amount of progress I've made. So, let's see the mathematical procedures I've gone through to determine these sums, no? These are my starting stats in these two skills: Fishing Level: 57 Cooking Level: 59 Lobsters Needed until Level 99: 142,375 Lobster to Cook until Level 99: 106,441 Total Fishing Trips still Needed: 5933 Total Profits: (142,375 lobsters needed X 120 gp per lobster) - (5933 trips X 300 per law rune) - (5933 trips X 30 gp per trip) = 15,127,110 gp This equation assumes I can buy laws for 300 each, and that I can sell cooked lobster for 120 each. Remember that it costs 30 coins to sail to and from Karamja. Well, that's the introduction... Now for the updates! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status: updated MANUALLY so that it's not like a dynamic sig Last updated: April 6, 2007 Current Fishing Level: 60 Current Cooking Level: 61 Lobsters Needed until Level 99: 141,764 Lobster to Cook until Level 99: 105,321 Total Fishing Trips still Needed: 5907 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Screenshots of interesting occurances during my quest: Well, I'm at level 60 fishing now. Only 39 levels to go! Level 61 cooking! w00t!!! If I've got to make 5000 more trips, I expect to be getting a lot more of these randoms... Um... Yeah... I'd rather not. (For those of you who don't know, stool is the scientific name for brown human waste.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Random Events So Far: Drill Demon: 0 Mime: 0 Mysterious Old Man: 0 Sandwich Lady: 0 Swarm: 0 Teleportation Matrix: 2 Frogs: 0 (By the way, is it just me, or do the frogs appear less now than they did a year ago?) Drunken Dwarf: 1 Other: 0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Random Thoughts by Magician Xy: - There are tons of macros everywhere when I'm fishing. They disgust me, but only if they are autoing the fishing process. (You know, fishing while the actual player is outside playing basketball or whatever.) People who auto-talk don't bother me at all... It is pretty annoying to have to type "green: wave2: Selling lobbies!" every ten seconds. So my question is... are auto-talkers as bad as other types of macros, or are they tolerable? - Does Jagex ever check these forums for ideas? There are so many amazing ideas posted here (new bank layout, this year's Easter event, etc.). Jagex should try to implement some of these ideas into their game; after all, their customers are the ones who are thinking up what they want in the game. It would be silly businesswise to ignore them. - Just a random bit of info I recently found out: Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia is the fear of long words. Hehe, somebody had fun coming up with that word :P - Wow! This year's Easter rewards are great! I especially like the chicken feet. It looks like I've got claws  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Questions? Comments? Want to hang out and fish/cook with me? PM me in game or post here. Intelligent conversation is always enjoyed!

Fancy Boots V. Fightinf Boots, Which do you prefer and why?
I wear the fighting boots because I think they look better than the colorful boots and because they give better combat bonuses than regular boots. If the regular boots had the same bonuses, though, I would wear those, since they look the best. In my opinion, the colorful boots look way too Easter-y and the fighter boots make your feet look huge.

Tip.It Times Presents: Rule 2 Revised
Looks like we have learned something new about the editor? Yeah, now we know the Editor isn't more than a thousand years old. Well, that clue alone narrows the range of people who might be the editor to about, oh, everyone who uses these forums. :P Anyway, about the actual article: Wow, that was very poorly phrased. It makes it sound like all poor people are scammers, liars, and cheats, and considering he/she's talking about real life at this point in the article, he/she bluntly says if you're lower class, you're a bad person. Dear Editor, you may want to edit that bit slightly. :wall: Other than that bit, this was an okay article. I'm getting kind of tired about reading all these articles about scams and macros and bad people, though. Maybe next week, the Editor will focus on some positive aspect of the game?

Guide to Choosing a Username for your Account
Alright, everyone's gonna think I'm some mage pure because of my name, right? Well, you're WRONG!!! WRONG!!! WRONG!!!1!!1! I started RS not knowing anything about MMO games, and definately nothing about pures. If you would have asked me what a pure was back then, I would have said something like, "Uh, atoms of a single element? I dunno..." I named myself after a character in the book I was trying to write. He was the main character, and he happened to be a spellcaster. (ave up writing the book, though... seems author isn't the career path for me! :P) On topic, this is a great guide! I clicked on it at first, thinking, oh, boy. This is gonna have a lot of flaming in it. It was actually pretty good, though. Another trend in naming that I see more and more often is starting and ending a name with xxx. For example, Xxx_Killapk_Xxx It drives me crazy.
