  11. The encounters (and combat) is what makes Halo different from other shooters. Games like Medal of Honor, Battlefield and Call of Duty typically only have a type of enemy (with a very few exceptions) who all act the same way. They hide behind a wall and pop their head out every once in a while. Halo gives you a sandbox in which to play. You get a set of weapons, vehicles and enemies. The beginning of the encounter is mostly the same but they way it will play out varies a lot. Depending on your difficulty setting, the kind of weapons that you've got on you, whether or not you're in a vehicle, how many allies you've got left. These are all factors which change the way Halo battles are fought. But back on the enemy topic; Halo has very varying enemies. Grunts who are dangerous in large number and leadership but who often run away if without. Jackals are the sharpshooters who typically shoot from far away (unless they wield a shield). Elites are the keen and swift warriors who lead the latter two into battle. Brutes are rather similar but are a bit more brutal and close range. Hunters are just massive monsters who can take a hell of a punch. And you've got even more enemies in Reach. They are take a different approach. For example; Grunt are killed by a simple headshot. Elites have an energy shield which you have to drain (with preferably a plasma pistol overcharge) before you can kill it. Hunters have a weak spot on the back which you have to use to kill them. Some Jackals have energy shields on them which requires you to shoot them in the hand first before you can headshot them. And let's not even get started on the vehicle combat. ;) umm if you want encounters like that, mass effect 2 does it better (or GoW series) and vehicle combat is average, nothing amazing. the controls are very basic

i meant that the free service will never get any "good" updates. eg if they ever implement private chat or group chat, it's going premium
  13. still standing is so underrated
  14. halo being "good" really depends if you have friends or not imo. going online with 3 other people on the same box? nothing compares. the campaign is a joke. the combat is meh, but it's the online experience that sets it apart.

from the ps3 owners here (which is obviously the wrong people to base facts on), i figured ps3 didn't have GROUP chat but at least had private chat option (which turned out to be a different form of private chat). that really took me by surprise. also, i never even heard of PSN plus til now. so basically the "free" PSN will be the basic (shafted?) version of PS3's online? that pretty much means the free PSN wont get any more updates than what it has now. wow that kinda sucks.
  16. yeah i heard just two can get you drunk. LCBO doesn't sell it so canadians are SOL. looking forward to my trip lol
