  1. why do recent horror films suck? because they are full of blood, gore, and a typical theme of mass murder....none match the quality of horror and suspense that they once reached... i am never scared during the horror movies of today...just annoyed at the mass amounts of gore tonight on AMC i watched "Misery" (another Steven King movie)...and was BLOWN AWAY. absolutely stunning, scary, suspenseful, and the whole movie i got pissed at commercials lol movies like this...and movies like the Shining are the true horror films...not this crap that is just massive killings. sure some horrors might be predictable at points...but this movie kept me on my seat the whole time i wasn't scared much...but i was "disturbed" i guess...like at one point it's thundering and raining out...so i knew something would happen (typical synopsis to represent a change in tone in a movie...thank you 11th grade english lol)...but the "psycho" person comes in the room and is all dreary..and the guy goes "what's wrong?"...she goes on to tell him stuff..then b4 she leaves she turns her head and goes "this is my gun...*clicks it with an empty chamber*...sometimes i like to load it and shoot it"...then leaves THAT^^^ is true horror...an event that could totally happen at any time..and subtle things like that discuss
  2. Hey Death..i just read it over...and over...and over again...and also looked at the different dimensions that we dwell in....and i change my view The thing is...God exists OUTSIDE of OUR time interval..so what to him was 6 days...could be a period of time to us. he is not limited by time, he dwells outside of it and is not constrained by it. kind of like how you have: ----past----present----future (this is our time line) ----GOD---- (then you have God who is outside of that time line) it would make a bit of sense...but by looking at the fact that God dwells outside of our time interval..it could add up to time periods...and 6 literal days to God would be seen as a a larger period of time to us. like i said b4 though...i still don't know how factual dating is or how true it is...just putting that out there i do not believe in an infinitely expanding universe though because of the way heat travels from bodies. if it was infinitely expanding...wouldn't the temperature be constant in our world because of this factor?

  4. i feel you cannot bring this into effect because people will never know where to draw a line :\. you might think they'll be after just curing the diseases...sure maybe now they are. but what happens later on? people are corrupt..and they'd keep on going i don't think it's something we should be tampering with
  5. If you doubt the existence of Jesus then you doubt the existence of any other historical figure. How do you get at that? erm...because historians wrote about him. what insane meant was that if there are histories written about Jesus, and if they are false, then how are histories written about any other historical figure in the past true?
  6. Eh? I'm guessing you are opposing this because of religion/morals. what's the point in life if every1 is a super person and people can pick and choose what they look like and what traits they have?

  8. i'd LOVE to give blood...i just can't handle it i would pass out...i can barely get blood taken for medicinal purposes for when the university needed me too (needing to get tested for stuff...and mono) the needle was in for 5 seconds...i yanked it out...stood up...stumbled..and passed out just something i cannot do...i have a hard time with blood pressure too...just the feeling of my blood pulsing makes me sick and light headed
  9. erm...i thought they knew where his tomb was already but are claiming they found his remains... i could be wrong...but that's what i thought :?
  10. Think about it this way, the Pentagon is the headquarters of the most advanced military in the world, and they can't see a plane coming? According to the 9/11 Commission Report flight 77 was lost from the radar screens. Do you believe the FAA, NORAD, and the US military could allow this to happen? Either you must believe in the total and complete incompetence of the US military and the FAA and NORAD, or you believe a stand down order was given. there are 2 nearby airports in washington...the reagan, and the dulles. it could have been seen as just a plane flying nearby...because i live 1 hour from DC and planes fly around all the time. who would have thought the airliner was going to be used as a missile (that specific plane) and as you say...the intelligence of the US is great. so i'm pretty sure ANY website dedicated to this conspiracy would be shut down in a matter of hours, if not minutes. i'm sure they'd let this whole thing be displayed all over the internet. there was no conspiracy...
  11. i never admitted to knowing nothing about the basic mechanics about certain dating methods...i admitted to not being an expert. and the reason it's debated about the age of the earth is because we have lineages in the Bible... i do not know for a fact if by "day" the bible meant "period"...but when looking from the original language of the Torah it means a literal "day".. ?? i mentioned the shells being dated at a few thousand years old even though the mollusks were still alive. you then said that a few thousand years in the scope of time is not that big of a deal.. but then you said this: did i miss something? you said that the carbon dating is supposed to be accurate for young things...yet it says that a still living mollusk is thousands of years old. if it measures young things...then shouldn't it be more precise? why are there discrepensies for living things? because they don't decay at the same rate as things that have already died? does that really make an exponential difference? there are also errors found when dating older things as well...that are dead i was referring to complex things such as DNA and the fact that everything was in a way designed perfect. please don't take the word perfect out of context...because you know i don't mean that the world is "perfect".
  12. there was no conspiracy..get over it
  13. dream theater is my all time favorite band. simply..amazing. the musicianship along with the technicality + the humbleness of them leaves me in awe and respect for any piece of music they produce.

  16. magazine subscriptions from door to door college students that are fake my clairvoyance read that person like a book...but i still felt guilty about turning down something for a good cause. it all looked legit. i bought the smallest subscription she had, 25 bucks. thought "now let me see if i was right in thinking that this girl was full of crap". sure enough...googled...first thing that pops up "New college SCAM! students go door to door with fake receipts and fake magazine subscriptions" i was like "man...i got scammed..." i got owned lmao...sadly enough i knew it was fake at the time...just never sent the girl packing
  17. personally, i feel that blaming religion as the major cause of war is a very silly argument. people like that usually wish that they could remove religion as a whole so none of this would exist in the future. there are several things wrong with that, and i will tell my reasoning through a very simple analogy. when you look at alcohol, it is one of the leading causes of death, and could quite possibly be the leading cause of vehicle accidents (i said possibly because i didn't look it up, but it's a safe thing to assume imo). should we remove it from existence because of all of this? well let's take a look at history. the united states tried removing it from their country (2 times in fact), and both times it resulted in problems far worse than when it was legal. crime rose exponentially (all caused by people who take advantage of certain occurrences; in this case it was namely mobsters), people brewed it illegally, people would binge drink much more b/c it was rarer to come in contact with it than before (which IMO is more dangerous than more drinking over a spread out time. sure the amount of alcohol consumption went down, but the amount of drinking in short periods of time rose exponentially), more domestic violence occurred because of this increase in binge drinking, and people's civil rights were violated in a much similar fashion as jagex banning people (paranoia of alcohol in people's homes). all in all, things were far worse off than before....thus the prohibition amendment was amended with the 21st amendment. that being said, it is therefore not better to remove it from existence, especially when it is already here. it would cause more harm than good. so just because something like religion is a component to war (and is nothing close to a reason for it), it does not mean it'd be beneficial to remove it from existence...and when it is removed (from this earth) i and no one else typing here will be here. not only that, but people are always insecure about stuff and need to find things wrong in things or find faults, resulting in more disputes and more wars. there will always be things that people argue over...very petty things at that.
  18. Those are some odd side-effects.. I've been getting around 2-4hrs of sleep a night since about half-way through 1999, and that's never happened to me. Health is fine, I get sick less than once a year, head aches are non-existant, being tired only comes from over-sleeping. All in all, I'd say my sleep patterns do me more good than harm (that being I sleep only when I need to). It's almost like power-naping, but more stretched. hmmm..maybe it varies from person to person. Personally i LOVE sleep, but simply do not have time for it. i have too much going on that i am up until all hours of the night doing work, and during the day i am busy with classes, organizations, group meetings for projects, etc. Since Monday of this week i have gone to bed between 2 and 4...and woken up at 7:15. i am not tired during the day, but if i lay down it hits me very hard. also i get tired earlier. about the sickness, well, before school i was never sick. i get here, and my second month i contract Mono (no idea how i got it..coulda been a water fountain or sharing a drink or something). I had that for 6 weeks, got better, and then like a week ago when i REALLY started getting less sleep i developed a cough and as i type this my head is throbbing. it might be that my body is much more vulnerable with the lack of rest to repair parts of the body/strengthen the immune system. the body is sooo complex...wow. i dunno though, i guess it just varies from person to person, but i am welcoming spring break with open arms so i can get the much needed rest i need
  19. Ok but it doesn't explain why radiometric dating is consistent with independent dating methods such as tree rings, ice cores, optical dating, Milankovitch cycles, relative dating (deeper is older), Hawaiian archipelago (older islands dated as older) and dating objects with known dates (dead sea scrolls, wood from Egyptian burials). Notice how all of those things you described are only thousands of years old..trees, and the dead sea scrolls. Milankovitch cycles i do not know much about...and i don't know if this is yet another dating method based on the theory that things must be constant (the earth's shift in orbit and tilt etc..)...but i don't know much about it. Relative dating is extremely inaccurate because the earth shifts..plates interact and shove older things up or newer things down. of course this isn't always the case..but it happens very often. Hawaiinan islands..i don't know much about this either. Optical dating...well this uses physics to figure out the dating, but i don't know much about this. What i do know about optical dating is that it is not accurate whatsoever outside of 100,000 years. Ice cores are inaccurate imo because why at certain layers the ice is aged at let's say..3000 years, then when you go deeper down the ice is "aged" at 1000 years? i am not a geologist, nor am i an expert in chemistry..but some of these dating methods are extremely inaccurate, yet people accept them as fact because there are not better methods available in our present time. all theoretical...quantum theory..it has the word theory contained. It's certainly not disputed among physicists, radioactivity is core concept of Quantum Mechanics. I am not a physicist, but a freshmen aerospace engineer with a poor Polish Physics teacher who mumbles when he speaks...but i still know quantum mechanics is all theoretical physics..not solid facts. if you want to use quantum mechanics, quantum theory, more dating theories as fact, then i feel that the Bible holds JUST as much leverage as any of these. that is my point. i do not understand how people can call what they have fact when it is a theory. until it is a law it cannot be used in an argument anymore than the bible can. If I told you to measure the width of my hair with a ruler, could you be accurate to within the nearest hundredth of a micrometre? You need a statistically useful proportion of parent-daughter atoms. There has also been disproportionately high levels of carbon in the past 200 years due to the industrial revolution and atmospheric nuclear testing screwing up the dating of young things. well then how do you know there wern't the same occurrences thousands of years ago to make everything else just as disproportional? there could have been natural occurrences to skew anything like that...we all know nature > man. also i don't know how you can use that as an argument when just above you stated that radiation methods are in sync with measuring things such as the dead sea scrolls and trees, things microscopic in the scope of time. Keep filling those gaps with God... i'm not quite sure what you meant about that. maybe the 7 days were periods of time. i honestly do not know for sure. i do know that the original language can be translated into a day, so i personally believe it was a literal "day" all in all...i know you are much more knowledgeable than i am about certain things...even if you only know the basic concepts. you can debate me all day, but there is one thing i do know, and that is what JC has done for me in my personal life and no one can debate me about that.
  20. it's all about culture... Japanese eat dolphins yet some people feel this isn't right...yet americans eat hamburgers and Indians would find that barbaric... i don't agree with being a vegetarian for animal rights...
  21. What's MCAT? Something related to college prep? If I had $1000 dollars... I'd probably use it to take AP tests, or buy games lol, maybe WoW or something. the MCAT is the standardized test administered to people aspiring to be an MD
