Haha, I have a bunch of relatives there so I've been up there a few times myself. From what I remember it is a pretty nice place. I live in one of the rich white (also predominantly Jewish) suburbs just outside of Boston, Massachusetts. It's technically a city, and thus one of the richest cities per capita in the country or something. It also was the safest city in America a few years back. It's a decent place...I enjoy some aspects of city life, though I don't think I would like to live somewhere that's too crowded. A suburb is a nice in-between. The rich, white part can be a bit annoying (though it's also like 7% Asian, so there's plenty of my own kind ). Lots of drugs, drinking and partying, none of which I partake in because I'm a good kid nerd. Boston itself is a great place. A very historical place. There are also a lot of good colleges around, so I don't have to go far if I want to go to one of those/I make it in. I would say something about how great of a sports town it is, but the Red Sox suck currently, the Patriots haven't received much positive light, and the Bruins...well...Let's just say the Celtics are our last hope right now. Also, clam chowder and Dunkin' Donuts are good. If I had the option to live somewhere else, I would consider Taipei. I know, it's very crowded, but I just love it there. One thing I forgot to mention above is how liberal the people are where I live. I would say that it's definitely had an impact on my social/political views, but that might also just be a result of my time here on TIF. I still see a lot of things from the Taiwanese or even Japanese point of view though.
