Today...
THE WEATHER IS AWESOME RIGHT NOW it's been thundering (and lightning-ing) continuously for about half an hour. Now it's pouring rain like crazy... And lightning flashed and thunder rolled in less than a second. Going by that rule I learned in kindergarten, it must've hit less than a mile away. First time I can recall that happening.

Which college? I live around Boston so that sort of justifies my creepiness.

Intelligence Blunders!
A few weeks ago, I heard some people singing the Star Spangled Banner out of the blue. I turned to my friend and asked, "Huuuuuuh why are they singing Christmas carols in April?"

Where you live ...
Haha, I have a bunch of relatives there so I've been up there a few times myself. From what I remember it is a pretty nice place. I live in one of the rich white (also predominantly Jewish) suburbs just outside of Boston, Massachusetts. It's technically a city, and thus one of the richest cities per capita in the country or something. It also was the safest city in America a few years back. It's a decent place...I enjoy some aspects of city life, though I don't think I would like to live somewhere that's too crowded. A suburb is a nice in-between. The rich, white part can be a bit annoying (though it's also like 7% Asian, so there's plenty of my own kind ). Lots of drugs, drinking and partying, none of which I partake in because I'm a good kid nerd. Boston itself is a great place. A very historical place. There are also a lot of good colleges around, so I don't have to go far if I want to go to one of those/I make it in. I would say something about how great of a sports town it is, but the Red Sox suck currently, the Patriots haven't received much positive light, and the Bruins...well...Let's just say the Celtics are our last hope right now. Also, clam chowder and Dunkin' Donuts are good. If I had the option to live somewhere else, I would consider Taipei. I know, it's very crowded, but I just love it there. One thing I forgot to mention above is how liberal the people are where I live. I would say that it's definitely had an impact on my social/political views, but that might also just be a result of my time here on TIF. I still see a lot of things from the Taiwanese or even Japanese point of view though.

I feel like I've said this before, but my physics teacher was asking the class on the first day of school what we use computers for. Facebook? Bunch of hands go up. IM? Even more. E-mail? A good lot. Games...like World of Warcraft? My hand shoots up. My friend reluctantly follows. He's a really young guy so I wouldn't be surprised if he played WoW, and he's brought in Guitar Hero a few times. Also, the Bruins are the new Red Sox. Typical Boston sports. <_<

What would the world be like without the United States?
The real question is Japan, to be honest. If it weren't the US, who knows what would've happened in the Pacific.

Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
YEAH MAN FIGHT FOR OUR GLORIOUS RED SOX NATION  My English teacher this year never really bothered having us analyze the books. He only quizzed us on facts. Which was pretty nice, since I have a good memory for that kind of thing, but I'm a failure at comprehension and analysis. We're doing poetry now though, which sucks. A lot.

Swedish Military - Fun Quick Thinking Team Test
Did this a few times with some of my friends...we just got 5:26:02. It was definitely better than playing with strangers. No random dropping out nor no stupid people (plus I can use CAPS LOCK against them in our chatroom)

Maybe they're all KPop fans in disguise. (Rain) I won $10 yesterday from a math meet. Too bad my school missed the cutoff for the next round by 1 point. And my small group from church has decided that we're having a StarCraft LAN party next Friday. Haha, this will be awesome. (I should probably go touch up on my strategy now...I go to a Chinese church - and we have a Korean - so they're all pro lol)

2010 Baseball season
That's one of the great things about baseball (at least the MLB). Lose one game, you still have a bunch to go. Unless it's September or October. Go Sox yay. Disappointing loss last night though. (but ^^)

WikiLeaks releases footage believed to show civilian deaths in Iraq in 2007.
I was about to say that. Mistakes happen, even though this one was particularly tragic. Admitting those mistakes is what should be done though, rather than coming up with (lame) excuses. And yea, those soldiers sounded pretty eager to kill. Guess that's why they're soldiers though.

What has OT Taught you
OT is basically a public high school in a (pretty) rich suburb in Massachusetts, so I can't really tell what I've taken from here and what I've taken from there. Also, white people. VG&C probably got me hooked on a few games too.

April Fool's Day
I got (0.15 microfortnights), haha. My friends and I wrote "GULLIBLE" on a piece of paper and stuck it on the ceiling in chem. Wonder what happened to it after we left.

Ah, I hate prompts or questions like that. I always know someone encouraged me at one point of my life, I just can't think of any examples. Those are fun, you just make up a story with varying levels of ridiculousness depending on how confident you are in your writing abilities. And if it's in response to a story where you're supposed to relate to the character, always say that the exact same thing happened to you. It's fun, easy, and satisfying to know that you're going to frustrate the hell out of whoever is grading it since they know it's bull [cabbage], but can't grade you worse since they can't prove it. Those were our prompts in elementary and middle school. Apparently they realized we can read by high school. So the prompt was something like: "Characters in books often make single acts or mistakes that affect their lives. Select a character, describe him or her, the act or mistake, and how it affected their life and the book as a whole." I wrote about how Sam promised to stay with Frodo (did he even do that in the books? I forgot lol). Then I basically wrote a summary of LotR. Absolutely waste of 4 pages lol...I'll probably do pretty badly since graders tend to hate my writing, though it's not like I care. Otherwise, I had no real classes today. MCAS, free block, PE, home. Yea. Awesome enough.

Today...
[bleep] statewide standardized testing tomorrow (for 10th graders). Long composition is up first. I'm not bothered by the actual writing - in fact, I'll probably kind of enjoy it since it should be pretty easy and the prompt always has to do with selecting characters from literature, so I'll probably write about LotR and have a blast - I just don't like the prospect of sitting in the same room for 4 hours. Especially since I'm supposed to be in one of the worst rooms in the school. We're generally not allowed to have water in that room. Screw that, I'm sick and coughing left and right. <_<
