  1. Everything. I know Lenticular already said it, but this isn't really a joke. It's serious stuff. And there's the bait... Humanity. Modern society. People. Babies. Little kids. Parents of little kids. You. Me. My sister. Jerks. Arrogant people. Slow people. Annoying people. Fundamentalists. Idiots. People that don't agree with me. Get the picture?
  2. Boston and Taiwan are like extreme opposites. In Boston, we get a lot of blizzards (Nothing compared to other places though), and nor'easters (Not sure if that's the correct spelling, but well...They're a trademark of northeast USA) The past month, we had some huge thunderstorms, but not a hurricane or typhoon. Once, it hailed though. I *think* once a blizzard gave us like 30 inches of snow, might have been my imagination though. 2 feet is probably more like it. Blizzards tend to happen basically every year though. However, in Taiwan, there are a ton of typhoons. A big one struck here the day before I arrived, and I remember a few smaller ones from past years. Flooding happens all the time, but I'm on the third floor right now. The subway stations completed flooded a few years ago, that was terrible. Never been anywhere near a tornado, though there was one in New Hampshire last month. (That's probably what Runescapeloser is referring to?)

Two days ago, I went into some random mountains with my aunt, uncle, mom and sister. My legs ache. It was pretty cool though, the landscape was beautiful. And it was on the coast too... : Then we went to some gold mine museum. Kind of boring, but there was a huge block of gold...That we got to touch. After I got back to my aunt and uncle's apartment, I played some Civ4. Yesterday, I went to church, ate lunch with some old friends, then relaxed for the afternoon. Then I went to a big bookstore (That also sells a bunch of other stuff) that my uncle designed, and got some Lord of the Rings stuff. :P On the way back, I passed the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and found some statues that I didn't see last year. Today, I woke up like 2 hours ago. It was pouring rain...Ate some sushi, might go to a beach that I go to every year later.
  4. *Coughmypostcough* And I'm also paranoid. And extremely curious. Always looking over my shoulder, always triple-checking everything, always looking around, taking everything in...
  5. Woah, wtf, I just took it again to find out all the other stuff (I didn't bother with it the first time) and I got INTJ. Yay, more masterminds? Gandalf is INTJ, apparently. \ (As was Caesar, and Hannibal) The careers all seem like things I'd do, and I'm definitely a perfectionist. I can be a control freak, and I hate slackers. I wouldn't say I'm self-confident though...Private, impassive...It's all too true. And yep, I analyze basically everything. ISTJ sounds kind of right, but I think INTJ fits me better. : By the way, am I the only one who finds "Joe Butt" to be hilarious?
  6. Knowing me, these will end up quite long. Beware. So, after a few drafts, I think I've cut this down enough. My first was extremely long...As if this isn't long. I guess this will probably be the longest, as I've had so much experience with the game. I'll add a few more later, when I have more time. I suppose these won't exactly be reviews, but will be descriptions of the game. (Though I'll put that "Worth it?" thing at the end of every one) [hide=Silkroad Online]I should probably say it at the beginning...This is my favorite free MMORPG of all time. Reasons included later. Read on. SRO is based on the period of history in which the Silkroad (Surprise, surprise) flourished. However, it has some fantasy as well. It's Korean made, and F2P, so as you would guess...It's a grind. A while ago, there were a ton of bots, but Joymax has cracked down on nearly all of them. (Last time I checked, at least) Most of the servers are now pretty easy to get into, though most of the beginner training spots are crowded with bots trying to start new accounts. There are two types of characters in SRO, Chinese and European. Chinese characters are based on solo play, with nearly all characters being able to fight adeptly, as well as heal themselves, but most importantly, use healing potions with no recharge time. Nearly all bots are Chinese due to this. Chinese characters choose from three weapon masteries (But five weapons, sword, blade, spear, glavie and bow) and three (Technically four) magical masteries (Cold, fire, lightning, force). It's a mix-and-match thing, so it's not as if you're forced to choose one of each. Characters can actually choose more than two masteries, or take two magical ones or something. European characters are party based, and choose from six classes - warrior, rogue, wizard, warlock, cleric and bard. Once again, it's a mix-and-match, and most people choose one primary class and one secondary class. Still, European characters must work together (At higher levels, at least) in order to succeed. Both types of characters receive 3 stat points when they level up, and these points can be put into strength or intelligence. Strength boosts physical strength and defense, while intelligence does the same, but with magic. Characters level up their masteries and gain skills by using skill points. Skill points are received from killing monsters, so you will accumulate them over time. However, even with SP farming (Which is too complicated to explain here), it's likely you won't have enough skill points to get everything you want. Quests are what you'd expect in a grind, "kill x of y" or something along those lines. They give pretty good XP though. PvP is divided into three parts. Job PvP, cape PvP, and fortress wars. Job PvP starts at level 20, when you choose either merchant, hunter or thief. You can change at any time, and it isn't a full-time thing. Merchants travel from city to city with caravans and goods, making money. Hunters protect the merchants from monsters along the way, but mainly thieves. (So thieves attack the merchants and hunters, and try to steal the goods) Large job wars can erupt, and one of the most enjoyable parts of the game is going on a caravan (Or thieving raid) with a group of friends. Cape PvP is terrible, once you put on a cape, you can kill other players with capes on...And you get nothing if you do so. I'm not entirely sure about fortress wars, as you only participate in them if you're a pretty high level. They're basically fights between guilds over fortresses. I'd consider SRO to be more of a PvE game than PvP. Along with the normal leveling grind, there are unique monsters, which are a great challenge (They spawn every few hours, and spawn a lot of other monsters with them), as well as dungeons. I'm still not exactly sure why I like SRO so much, it just has an addicting quality to me. The variations you can have with builds are pretty incredible, there are a ton of possibilities. I guess it's also because my friends played, MMORPGs tend to be much more fun if you play with other people. The community is pretty good, other than the bots and the people that spam in Turkish. When I do play, it's on the server Neptune. Worth it? Yes.[/hide]
  7. Took this a few years ago, got ISTJ. Took it again, got ISTJ again. 89-50-50-67, if you must know. Introvert was obvious. Thinking as well. Judging, I guess. I'm on the border of intuitive and sensing, I think? I think I'm more intuitive. Whatever.
  8. Wow. Wow. I was planning on making an identical thread. Basically a guide to MMORPGs. Mind if I review a few? Surely you've heard about me playing a ton of free MMORPGs. :P
  9. Back when we had the "What are your fears?" thread, I said that most of my fears boiled down to the fear of death. That was initially going to be my answer, but then I decided on something else. The end. No, that's not the end of the post. I'm afraid of the end. Not like...Apocalypse, but I'm really regretful. I can't stand the end of things. The end of movies, the end of years, the end of a period of time, the end of vacation. Going back to the fear of death, I suppose that's more of the fear of end of life. I'm not really afraid of the pain that comes with death, or what comes after. What first brought me to the fear of death? My fears of fire, vehicular accidents, bugs (Uh...Diseases carried by bugs?), falling/heights, sickness/disease and dogs (Bites can be fatal. Maybe.).
  10. Oh yeah? Well, I pick my nose in public, eat it, then lick my finger clean. Then wipe it on my shirt. 8-) (Honestly, I pass it off as wiping my nose.)
  11. My math teacher last year had the best accent(s) ever. It was a mix of Chinese/Asian and Bostonian. I can put on either if I want, being born in Taiwan and living in Massachusetts. My favorite...Probably Asian. Too funny. Even funnier when they talk in some random language and keep saying English swears.
  12. Unlike a lot of "comedians", he was actually funny. He did a great job in the Ocean's series, some of my favorite movies of all time. RIP.

Yea, I noticed something. Also with Iraq too...And Taiwan. (Though it may have been that there were a lot of Taiwanese people there cheering. Doubt it though) -.- The basketball game between China and USA tomorrow (Or whatever, I'm confused by all these time differences) is big news within my friends. Most of us are Asian (Chinese), but there are a few Americans. So we've taken sides. :

I have a similar problem, I'm way too skinny. My doctor/nurse/whatever told me that I have to gain a few pounds...Eh. Basically, get more protein (I think that was it, I forget... #-o ), but also exercise. Don't just eat fatty foods, but eat things like meat and yogurt. (Once again, I think that's what I was told...Not sure.) Basically, eat more in general, while keeping a good balance. And yes. Exercise. Push-ups, sit-ups, just running around...It'll help.

Eh, that would make four Asians here. :P I don't like anime/manga though...Partly because I'm not Japanese, and...I just don't. Gallade, want to get a Dedede one?
  16. Yes. YES. YESSSSS! =D> I like Chewy Chips Ahoy! and Oreos. If I had to choose though...Oreos. They taste better with ice cream (Or in ice cream...), as well as with milk.
  17. Get up, and say "uh...right", then walk away, trying to draw attention away from myself. It kind of happened once...My friends and I were trying to walk up a steep hill after school, and there was a huge log in the way. Extremely huge. They all made it over, me, being short, didn't. I rolled a bit down the hill...Got up, caught up with them, then one of my friends slipped (And fell), and everyone forgot about me falling. My eyes are always wondering. So I'd just say "huh?" and keep looking around. Ignore them. Or take down the barricade. Stiff, you say? I don't know about this one, I've never really thought about it. Being me, I'd probably just let the silence continue.
  18. I don't swear online, though I'll use abbreviations. In real life, it's become a habit, but I've cut down on it a lot. It started a few years ago, when a new kid moved here, and he would swear basically every few words. A few of my friends picked up on it, and they started swearing like crazy as well. I'm fine if other people swear, but if they do it to seem cool, or if it's pointless, then they get on my nerves. I usually don't swear at other people, there are better insults and comebacks. But yea, saying darn or heck doesn't have the same effect. That's the only reason I'd swear loudly, for effect. I swear in my head, or mutter them out of frustration though. Oh, and I personally don't count "crap" as a swear anymore...It's the only one I use frequently too. A while ago, I started saying "bleep" instead. Also "balls." Don't ask. Soon enough, it'll become a habit, and I won't swear anymore. But instead, I'll say "balls you." #-o

I think I watched the whole opening ceremony, I'm in the same time zone as Beijing I think. So that's good. The ceremony was pretty nice, but it could only be good to a certain extent. Not to mention I had a headache, but I wanted to see the athletes come out. Was there an order to the countries, by the way? I'm pretty sure in the past, it's been by alphabetical order, in the language of the host. But Chinese doesn't have an alphabet... Taiwan already won a medal. Yay. (They're known as Chinese Taipei, for ridiculous reasons... ) I hope they get a few more... And Adam, I think you can find it on the main website. If you haven't already.
  20. A lot of things. However, being me, I can't think of any of them. I prefer to be alone, especially when I'm on a computer - I don't like people looking over my shoulder. This got solved when I got my laptop though, I just position myself against a wall so no one can see what I'm doing. (And no, it's not what you think) I don't like playing shooting games when my screen is fully visible to my parents. They'd have a seizure. If my sister sees me using Photoshop, she'd want to see what I'm doing, and then tell all her friends...So none of that. There was a time when my dad wouldn't let me download things, so I wouldn't play fullscreen games. And I'll only visit some sites if no one is watching. Otherwise, I guess I hum and sing. I normally only do that when I walk home though. I also practice my "sword fighting." I don't watch videos (On Youtube and stuff) or listen to music without headphones if someone else is around. If they're talking to me, I won't at all. (If they're not paying attention to me, I will) Also, I can read only if everyone else around me is somewhat quiet, and not moving much. Easiest when I'm alone. I get distracted easily.
  21. I have a shirt that says that on it. I don't like it that much though, since I have basically no creativity, but I'm pretty good at logic and stuff. For some reason, I can't think of my favorite quote. It would probably be Confucius, or something out of the Lord of the Rings...Or maybe one of the tech ones in Civ4. :P On iGoogle (Which I rarely use, but whatever), I have a daily Confucius quote thing. I should probably go read those more often, I'm sure some good ones will show up. I suppose Theoden's inspirational death speech before the Rohirrim charge into the Battle of the Pelennor Fields is also one of my favorites. Most of it is in one of my sigs...Not the really crappy one ( #-o ) but the one with Theoden yelling. That version is the one in the book, though I think I messed up. (There's also a bit more, I think) In the movie, it goes... [hide=A few more...] I don't think it's exactly that, but I don't have my copy of The Two Towers with me. I don't speak old Entish, but I usually don't say anything that's not worth saying. I'm usually a pessimistic person, but this quote really means something to me. Amidst all the bad in the world, there is some good. I like the whole conversation he and Pippin have, but that's too long to quote here. Mainly the part I bolded. Gandalf is quite wise, eh? It is indeed. Amidst all these deep, philosophical quotes, I must have a silly one. So yea. These are probably my favorite quotes from the Lord of the Rings movies. Plenty more out of the books, plenty more from other sources...[/hide]
  22. Hey, I love Korean MMORPGs. I like grinding. : (I'm not Korean though. Taiwanese...Close enough) According to Xfire, I played Rappelz for 25 hours. Silkroad Online..324 hours. :? Something like 430 hours of MMORPGs in total, not including RuneScape, all free. :| I can't wait until Aion. It's my next hope. (If it's free, which I think it is...Otherwise, it's WAR) Hope it doesn't fail. Like AoC. Edit: You're right Nadril, apparently it'll probably be $15 a month. Either my standards are too high, or free MMORPGs are really sucking these days. Probably both...
  23. Hahahah Lizardman's nut-kneeing move in SCII pwned. Basically unescapable, at least with my friends. Got 8 kills with just that move. I played it at a department store today (Lawl), pretty fun. Cervantes still pwns as ever. Yay undead pirates.
  24. ThurinEthir replied to Nadril's topic in Off-Topic
I don't really follow any Webcomics. I'll read some from time to time, but I don't waste hours reading them. Though I had to dig this back up for this thread. Anyone who loves D&D (Or actually, any [MMO]RPG) and Lord of the Rings should love it. Maybe. The end of #48 (If my Roman numeral skills are good) was probably my favorite. But that's because I'm immature. Read them from the beginning though, it basically retells the Lord of the Rings in comical D&D form.
  25. Well, I live in a pretty wealthy town near Boston. Plenty of famous people have lived here, and a good amount still do. I know a few Red Sox players do...A classmate of mine used to live next to David Ortiz, I've been to/seen Varitek's house, and apparently JD Drew also lives here. Wikipedia also tells me Matt Damon, Matt Leblanc (Who went to my school, I think), Ralph Waldo Emerson, Katherine Lee Bates, Ted Williams and Larry Bird did at some time or another. That's just in my town/city, in the surrounding towns, I bet there's much more. Including those that Runescapeloser named.
