  1. I remember I came here when I was barely 14 years old (I think the exact reg date was September 13th 2002), and how my posts and English probably didn't make any sense at all. I was extremely lame. For example, I thought the avatar titles were equal to how awesome the poster was. So I desperately tried to raise mine (and not get banned). I even memorised how many posts most of the title's required. Yeah I was new to the internet. I remember rsn_lead's old posts with his awesome stories, one in which his girlfriend almost drove them off a cliff in their car. I also remember how he hated being called "rsn" (he explained it in a post one time that "rsn" was a clan, so by calling him "rsn" you weren't refering to him as a person, but a clan). Thinking about his avatar still creeps me the hell out. I remember Mercifull attempting to make similar posts when rsn_lead stopped making them. I don't remember if they were particularly successful or not, though. I remember when Raenond banned me for two weeks for seemingly unknown reasons. I still don't know what the hell. I remember when the Media Board used to be an awesome place. With people such as Keiphus, silent_009/Huang, Witty_Fool, tttia, Domicus_UK (or something like that), Uncoverd, GSW, sub_divi and Alex (who was banned more times than I can count, but was brilliant at modelling and making abstract pieces). All excellent artists and I think most of them does it for a living now. I remember, before I had gotten into graphics, being awestruck when I sent Keiphus a small picture of a dragon's head on a golden kite shield I had just stolen from someone using the google image search, and simply used the bucket tool in MS Paint to make the dragon's head black and the kite shield yellow (although I think I actually drew the kite shield) and asked him to "make it cooler", as I would use it as an avatar. A few minutes later he sent it back to me and it was all 3D-ish!... Yeah, he had just used Bevel & Emboss on it but damn if I wasn't impressed as hell. Also the "Crafter's Guild" or whatever it was called, which was a usergroup where only the "superior" artists of the Media Board was allowed in. We had our own forum back on Scapeboard, our own avatars and everything, but it ultimately died out and the usergroup was disbanded. I remember people trying to create a new one several times, but nothing really happened. I remember when I won some Christmasy-related art contest and I got to choose my own custom title... and then how shortly after that Scapeboard's database was whiped, and the admins wouldn't let me have my custom title back when TIF came. I also remember when pixel sigs were making their way to the Media Board, and then how the forum subsequently went down the [cabbage]ter. Now I never go there anymore. I remember lots more but I can't be bothered typing it all.
  2. They still show it here in Sweden, and I think they've pretty much shown the re-runs nonstop since it was first made. They used to occasionally throw in the full seasons of Suddenly Susan, Full House, Family Matters and some others that frankly don't deserve to be remembered. But for the past few years it's more or less only been Fresh Prince, over and over again at around 3 or 4pm. I must've seen every episode like 6 times and I still enjoy it.
  3. What do you guys think, should I buy this or Gears Of War for my PC? I've never played GoW before but it looks awesome, but I also really enjoyed CoD 2 (especially the multiplayer) and the CoD 4 demo.
  4. Not even half the games you listed are exclusives. Halo 3 - Exclusive Mass Effect - Exclusive The Outfit - Exclusive Oblivion - Not Exclusive (Available on PS3) Orange Box - Not Exclusive (Available on PS3) Crackdown - Exclusive Call of Duty 4 - Not Exclusive (Available on PS3) Bioshock - Not Exclusive (Available on PC) Assassins Creed - Not Exclusive (Available on PS3) 4/9 are exclusive, and one is on PC which doesn't really count. And the rest are only on PS3, which is pretty much a failure. So they might as well be exclusives  Umm, don't say they're all exclusives when they aren't; all != not all. Making things up in a thread about consoles is probably the last thing you should do on the internet, as it's bound to come and bite you in the [wagon]. I was talking about the other ones also being released for PC. To which I'm sure Halo 3 is also being released for in a year or so (correct me if I'm wrong). So that makes more than half of the games in his list non-exclusives.
  5. Cat Stevens - Wild World. Fun song to play on the acoustic.
  6. Not even half the games you listed are exclusives.
  7. I'm looking into buying a 360 as well, but then I'm thinking that it doesn't really have any exclusives save for Halo 3 that interests me. All games mentioned in this thread will/has already been released for the PC - except from Mass Effect, but I don't know if I'm excited about it or not, since it looks pretty much exactly like KoTOR and there aren't any gameplay videos out that I've found. I've also always prefered sitting with a keyboard and mouse than a gamecontroller.
  8. I wouldn't say that's the same. In your example it's just a person walking around killing random people in, say, a city. People he doesn't know at all; he doesn't have any form of relationship with any them, it's just random people. However, a kid walking into school with a handgun shooting at his fellow students and teachers with the intention to kill them, that's a whole different level of messed up. Even if he doesn't know them all, he at least recognises a vast majority of them, and has probably spoken to some of them at least once. Personally, I'd have less qualms with shooting a guy I've never seen before in my life, than I would shooting a person I've seen everyday for several years, and spoken to, even if it's just a "hello" or whatever and even if it just happened one time. So yeah, I definitely think this deserves media coverage. People should be aware of what's happened. Just like Virginia Tech and the Columbine shootings. I know more people died there, but if this guy had perhaps planned it a bit better, maybe had an accomplice and more guns, it could've been just as many victims. In my opinion, all school shootings should be treated the same.
  9. From the short bits I've played so far, I've enjoyed it. It looks amazing. I like the fact that it's not just yet another hack'n slash game... there's a bit more to it. I'm just not too keen on the whole moving-you-character-with-the-mouse thing.
  10. Oblivion is, to me, currently the closest game we have to a perfect fantasy medieval RPG. Only thing that bothers me about it is the fact that they hired like five voice actors for the entire game, and most dialogues in the game are just silly (oh Patrick Stewart why!), also the combat is utterly rubbish. I wish they had used a similar combat engine to that in Dark Messiah - sure, the game wasn't great by any means, but the combat was at least exciting. Also it saddened me that ranged attacks were to ineffective (especielly bow and arrows). The modding aspects are awesome though. I'm currently following the adventures of Dongs "REO" Speedwagon; it's a video series of some guys who's playing through Oblivion while commenting on it. Their character is a dark elf that looks like a wicked old witch, has butterfly wings and blue hair, she runs around half-naked while assassinating people with an equipped (and enchanted) Slaughterfish and she leaves tails by her victims. Although lately she's started to beat people to death with a chair instead (also enchanted). They're running through the game randomly changing the scales of people around them, starting riots in the towns they visit (Frenzy spell awesomeness) and generally just trying to break the game in creative ways, while trying to complete it. It is awesome. "HELLO CHILDREN I HAVE COME FOR YOUR TEETH" (Awesome fan art not made by me)
  11. No dude, it's totally you who's making these things happen. It's not the lenient gun control laws, nor the mentally unstable kids with said guns -- heck, not even video games. It's a random guy on the internet who's reading wikipedia articles. Jesus christ I hope you're high on something.

It should be a matter of taste, rather then one of difficulty. Considering you like to sing, guitar seems to be the more obvious choice. I don't know about violins, but i definitely recommend NOT to buy a starter guitar. Invest ~300 bucks to get yourself something you likely won't outgrow for a very long time. Btw.. do we talk accoustic or e-guitar here? Also i believe that it doesn't really matter on what material you start, unless you were to play on a concert guitar or something like that. Just try to find an instrument that speaks to you and is affordable. For guitars the strings are very important when it comes to how difficult it is to play. They can (and have to be) changed anyway after a while. So just ask in the store for a decent instrument and starter strings. ...and in case you are going to learn guitar and would be using a pick, use a fairly hard one, one that doesn't bend easily (1mm or thicker). I advise doing the opposite. Buy a starter kit or something in the beginning, they're usually pretty cheap. I don't see a point in shelling out ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã300 on something that you might not like doing.

I play guitar. I've got an Ibanez SZ320 electric guitar (with a Seymor Duncan Dimebucker bridge pickup and a Duncan/Ibanez neck pickup) and a Yamaha acoustic, with a Line 6 Spider II 30w amp. Also a Korg Toneworks AX1500G multi-effect pedal, a Crybaby Wah-pedal and a Digitech Metalmaster distortion pedal. On my electric guitar I play everything from classic rock (Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher...) to the heavier sort of metal (Pantera, Saxon, Judas Priest...). And on the acoustic one I tend to play a lot of rock ballads, sing-a-long stuff and classical music.
  14. Saxon - Hold On. God this is cheesy, yet deliciously good.

    Extra Gravity

Me and some friends started a band called 'Ejnus' (say it out loud a few times). We had 4 guitarists and one bassist. No drummer or singer. Yeah, we didn't make it very far. But then again none of us were even slightly serious, we just messed around... a lot.
  16. Why didn't your quote show up? Oh yeah. It's because everything you said was wrong so you have no voice. ICEBURN! No but seriously, stop posting. If you can't even take constructive criticism when offered it without resorting to pre-school mentality, then you seriously need to lock yourself inside a cupboard or something. With a bear-trap inside it. The cupboard is also on fire.
  17. I will just make another one then, for good measure.
  18. Why?... Why should we vote on your review? It doesn't make sense. Are you going to add and piece together a total number of a staggering 5-6 votes and then head off into your little science lab and calculate the average value of ALL 5-6 votes, whereafter you proudly edit your OP where you add the result in big fat red letters? Seriously. This isn't the media forums. We don't make half-assed "votes" on everything that's posted here. But a bit of constructive criticism: you should probably have spent more time on it as it doesn't really tell us anything most people - having played it or not - already didn't know about the game. Also use spell check jesus christ. e: Mr_Putter, yeah, his reviews are truly excellent. He's a regular poster on another forum I frequent and his reviews always makes me laugh. My favourite is probably the Fable one (youtube it) and the one where he reviews the demo of The Darkness, the game just sounds ridiculously bad in every way imaginable.
  19. What about if we didn't vote? Should we still make a post? I'm confused. e: Oh and that game is called World of Warcraft... not Herocraft. So you probably shouldn't call it a "Herocraft server", that's just stupid. Therefore you're not really doing your friend a favour; so in essence you are a bad friend and you should never work in marketing.
  20. I haven't the faintest. They're just generally a lot weaker than say, a well-played scorpion or ravager. I'm just reiterating what my friend has told me though. He's very much into theorycrafting, and he used to have a hunter (a survival one with over 1000 agility).
  21. Cats at higher levels are apparently crap. People just have them because they want to have a wolf/tiger. Scorpions are supposed to be great pets, except most people don't know how to play them well. Also ravagers and windserpents are good.
  22. I'm game. That is, if the ping is anywhere near decent.
  23. That's flippin' awesome: deep, cynical, and raw, my favorite kind of writing. Do you know who wrote that? I don't remember what username he went/goes under, but it was no one famous. Just some guy at a forum. But yes, it's brilliant.
