If that was meant to be in Latin, you either have a typo der or they spelled it wrong  . "Tempus", not "temps" :-w . Breaking Benjamin - Diary of Jane. No idea what language it's supposed to be in, but yeah it's probably latin. And I didn't spell it wrong, "Temps" is what it says in the track title. :P So it's probably the ripper who messed up. I had to download their music since you can't really find it in any stores (sadly). Any idea what it means? Oh and, Tool - Triad.

I just pre-ordered it for the PC. Can't wait! Shame I'll be out of town visiting a friend that week though, but oh well. Does anybody know the recommended computer specs for the PC release?

... I am protected. Ugh. Somebody shoot me now.

In a similar vein: Also in a thread titled "what would you name your kids?" - well, it got a little out of hand and this guy suggested naming a kid ARACHNOTRON (in caps, yes): This one had me laughing for a good five minutes. Also:

I don't see what's so special about that one. I see threads like that posted several times a day -- i.e usually a guy who is caught red-handed doing something embarrassing and then for some reason feels inclined to share the incident with the internet. But instead of receiving the help he so desperately wants he is usually ridiculed and after a while abandons said thread. However, great many laughs, and even more agonizing screams, were had over a fellow with aspergers, whom, despite his strange and peculiar quirks, managed to get a girlfriend. That suddenly changed however when she, one morning, found the jars (plural) he stored under his bed, filled with his own "manjuice". Well, not so much "funny" that it was completely and utterly disgusting.

I guess a collection album is a good start. Some other albums you should check out is: Iron Maiden, The Number Of The Beast, Piece of Mind, Somewhere In Time, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son and actually the latest album A Matter of Life And Death. Probably the 6 albums i would recommend to any new listener. And look out, on the 5th of february the greatest live-ablum comes on dvd! Live after Death! One. Rock in rio > live after death. Two. A matter of life and death was poor Seriously, you really need to start making more constructive posts. All I hear from you is this or that is really bad and not why they're bad, and you're always wording it like it's facts, when in fact it is your own opinion. It really makes you come off as an arrogant [cabbage] at times. If you're saying something is bad, at least have the decency to explain why that is. Explain why Rock In Rio was better, and explain why A Matter Of Life And Death was a poor album, because believe it or not, not everybody thinks that. I actually liked the latter album, because I appreciate the fact that they tried to do something new, with a more progressive sound than before, and they did a great job with the lyrics as well. It's also got some really brilliant guitarwork from Murray, Smith and Gers.

I'm pretty certain it's a man.

Why did you capitalise "buy"? Please explain to me how the hell that changes the band's style of music in the slightest? I have heard their entire discography countless of times, and I'm telling you that Iron Maiden started out as a NWOBHM band, and that they are now a heavy metal band. The bandmembers have said the same thing - so I'm seriously starting to wonder if you're trolling..., or if you're actually serious.

Bingo. To be fair, I knew the answer as well. I was just trying to wrap my head around the fact that he actually asked me, "why would using swedish words in english sentences remind you of the grade you are first taught english in?". He answered his own question. As a fellow swede, he should know this. I am still in a state of perplexity.
-
Killer - Ad Temps Vitae. This is an amazing instrumental song.
-
ONE thing. I wonder what was so oklart about that? Haahahahaha. This is grade 3 english class all over again. What does unclear in Swedish have to do with 3rd grade English class? Well wow, you've stumped me. I honestly don't know how to answer this.

I don't really like going to the cinemas that much, I generally only go if my friends really want to go see something, and the movie doesn't seem like utter rubbish. I actually think it takes away some of the experience. Sure, it's great seeing a good movie on a huge IMAX screen with surround sound, but I'm mostly referring to the people who go there. It always seems like there's at least one or two groups of obnoxiously loud kids that talk, scream and laugh at inappropriate times. It just kills the experience for me. But then again, one of my friends compared going to the cinemas to going to music concerts... so I suppose some people really like it. Either that or he's been to some really crappy concerts.

The name you're looking for is DromarUK. Oh yes, thanks for this. I can now sleep. And it's funny, I came into this thread not thinking I had any memories worth mentioning, but after reading a few posts it all just came back to me... and I remembered that I actually used to have tons of fun on this forum. The old days on Scapeboard was definitely one of the best times I've had on the internet.

I'm not a computer wiz, and I'm not sure how perm bans work exactly. But I'm guessing they ban the IP. So the person just have to use some sort of proxy and alter their IP. Again, don't take my word for it, I could be way off.

Oh yeah! I couldn't remember why Alex was banned, but now it's coming back to me. His "rate me" titles were pretty much always some variation of the above, and I guess the mods just got fed up with it in the end (wasn't there some announcement in the media board about it too? "stop posting offending thread titles!" or something like that). His posts were always pretty annoying and offensive though, but man could he do some great stuff. He ban evaded at least a dozen of times throughout the years, posting his "selling sigs!" threads with loads of awesome work, telling people to contact him in-game because he would probably get banned again. :P I don't think he actually made anything from it though, because I don't remember seeing anyone using sigs that looked like his. I also remember when IDPUP tried to make a third (I think?) installment of the "Crafter's Guild" thing again, and I remember how he would just randomly add people to the usergroup without asking them if they even wanted in first. And so this guy called Unfaith (who was a pretty respected artist at the time) started sending out PMs, which were actually pretty extensive, and asked us to the leave the group. I don't remember if he said he'd re-start the group again, with him as the group "admin", or however it was. In said PM he also compared IDPUP to Hitler. He even had a signature with a picture of Hitler and IDPUP's name in it, which pretty swiftly earned him a perm ban. Shame I didn't save it because it was just stupid as hell. Unfaith came back some time ago (a year or so maybe?), but I think he left pretty quickly. The name "look_its_rob" rings a bell... somewhere. But can't say for sure how he earned the custom title.

You mean the text bit? Most mods and admins used to have custom ones, at least back on Scapeboard, and when they left the staff team I think no one bothered to change them back. There were also a few contests in which you could win a custom one. I won one of those, but like I said in my post it was lost when Scapeboard's database disappeared, and then when they started this forum (TIF) they refused to give it back to me. I also think they had one of those contests maybe a few months ago? Was some big announcement about it anyway.

Hmm, I think that was "Domicus_UK" (can't for the life of me remember exactly what his nick was). He started making tons of those and they gradually became more and more complex, until most of his sigs were just huge mazes with line art and animations. A few of them even had smileys in them doing different things. Each one must've taken him hours to make. I don't know if it was during this period that he started making smileys and animating them, or if it was earlier. He started taking requests for smileys at one point anyway. They became quite popular.

SW_Raichu? Possible. My memory of the whole thing isn't too fresh. I just remember that the guy had some anime-ish name, claimed he was a billionare and that he owned a lion.
-
Rory Gallagher - Moonchild. Great song!
-
Also, wasn't there some guy here in OT that claimed he was a billionaire, lived in a huge mansion and had a lion as a pet? He posted pictures of the lion and the mansion if I recall correctly (well, at least the lion) but it wasn't until like, page 20 or so that someone found out he had found the image on google. He then left... then came back a while after... and then left again. I think his name was Raichu or something like that. That was a fun thread.

I ordered CoD4. I read some forum threads about it and everybody's really praising the multiplayer as well as the campaign, and that's what I'm looking for at the moment. GoW might be a great singleplayer game but I haven't heard anything great about its multiplayer. So I'm gonna get GoW with... other, and significantly cheaper, means.

You're right. Hating them solely because of their lyrics is silly, and people who do so usually just ride the crazy-awesome-Linkin-Park-hating-bandwagon and their only excuse to "hate" the band is because their "lyrics suck", since that's a valid enough reason (in their mind) which generally doesn't require a whole lot of explanation or knowledge about music in general. It's easy to get away with such comments. I mean sure, their lyrics might not be top notch, but jesus christ there are way worse. The reason I don't like their music (note: I didn't say "hate") is because there's just nothing interesting about it at all. The guitar parts are basically just made up of powerchords in drop D and very basic drumming. It seems as though the only person in that band that has an ounce of talent is Hahn. So their music just sounds really poor in my opinion.

Wasn't Theakman caught doing something shifty though? Not really certain what it was, but I remember him being called out on something, whether it was stealing other peoples' work... I don't remember what exactly. After that he either left or was banned. Or did I dream all that?

Uncoverd was DementedHero on Scapeboard. Also who was the guy who took you on as an apprentice? Wasn't that Witty_Fool? I remember us having this pretty big post about you, if we should or should not take you in. It was crazy. We were all just impressed by the fact that you never gave up, even though most of us gave you a pretty hard time. It's unfortunate that I've managed to save everything I've made (over 1000 images!) except for the very first stuff I did, and the sigs I bought before getting into sigmaking. Would be interesting to see them now since I thought they were really awesome at the time.
