  1. It will usually strike the first target for around 50% dmg, then spread out to all the targets available (maximum 9 I assume)
  2. That makes sense. The problem is that the beta would have to have F2P only and P2P only versions, otherwise F2P players are likely to try all the members stuff. I think it depends on what kind of beta it will be--players with jmod style characters or a blank server where your character is reset? If its including the character reset so you have to level up, then that encourages trying out things at different levels. (which would include some F2P content)

  4. Except Borrowed Power isn't cool. :ugeek: The concept was cool, but they nerfed it so much that it's useless. It should've been a spell you cast for a massive cost of runes and it swapped borrowed power for one of the spells on the list, which had an added right click "revert" option. Hence no amulet and no extra cost per cast. Maybe have it auto revert after 1000 casts or something.. Basically: get rid of the amulet tied to it..
  5. No one's saying that F2P won't get a combat overhaul. What we're saying is that F2P players won't have access to the beta, or at least will have limited access compared to members. Obviously there are features of the combat overhaul that will probably be members only, but in general I expect the overhaul to change free aspects as well.

  8. @Fallstar: I don't believe the average player has a party hat. It really depends on how you define success. Nerfing rares shouldn't be done because it would be yet more interfering with that market. I don't really see the need to nerf them as they are just a status symbol, and has no gameplay value. But while there are more of "player a" (the guy with one-two party hats) than "player b" (the guy who has billions spread over accounts and full partyhat sets), I don't believe either one is all that common.
  9. The only complaint I have with the staff is that you have to be on the proper spellbook to use the spell. I would much rather have the option of *charging* it while on the proper spell book but the being able to cast the spell regardless of the spellbook I am on. That would open up a lot more choices. Otherwise, I don't like it for the choices listed with the possible exception of alching, (but you can't do it for alchs while on say the lunar spell book) Remote farm isn't that useful as I'd still have to carry runes for my teleports, and the mudstaff anyways. It's nice but not really amazing. It is sort of like borrowed power: cool, but nerfed so that its not really useful.
  10. I'm hoping they don't just copy other combat systems, but do manage to improve interaction during combat, as well as ensure that the triangle actually exists. Right now we end up with lots of issues because swapping combat gear doesn't always provide penalties to each combat style. I want to see a lot of the issues fixed without just copying other MMOs. I also hope they are willing to fully fix old issues, for example fix/remove soaking and the life point boosts on armors. Don't just keep "adding". One interesting idea for how to fix the difference between mage/range and melee though would be for attack to be named "accuracy" and apply to all types of attacks (in combination with the main one as well) instead of just applying to melee. (Of course this would really annoy some people, but the pure system is going to have to change anyways.) But this would remove the difference between having mage/range only use one skill without having to add a new skill for both range and mage (like mage accuracy etc.) Not that I wouldn't mind having those new skills added.. But there is always the question of how to apply current xp that would be split into two changed skills it would just be a nightmare.
  11. It's likely that the points obtained currently won't get doubled. Only way to ensure this bug free is teleport everyone out of the runespan. (Since points are based on the runes in inventory, these runes need to be removed otherwise they'd have to make some sort of dumb code to work) The other option is that any siphoned rune would give pts to actual and inventory.. That's one way to make it work.
  12. I would get unicorn now unless you have no charms. Turmoil is great, and having soulsplit is amazing, but it will cost a lot more.
  13. I did it with ganodermic and goliath gloves. If you use bandos it could become difficult because you will take a bit more damage. If you are competent at swapping between pro-range and soulsplit that shouldn't be a problem though :) TL;DR; Goliath gloves, ganodermic/high strength gear, Helmet with scrolls, overloads and renewal potions, lots of prayer potions and a few brews just in case you get unlucky damage. Make sure to keep your titan focused and speccing on a waterfiend you aren't attacking, and pay close attention during the first 10-15 mins when they're aggressive.
  14. The healers keep getting messed with. They now heal as long as they are next to Jad even if they are attacking you. You basically have to lure them completely away from jad. Personally, I'd bring claws and attempt to spec him as soon as the healers show. As for soaking mage, as long as you also have the eagle eye kite the soak is fine. I killed jad with just gano and it was difficult. I nearly ran out of brews. But if you have flasks, and gano + eek, the max hit of jad is something like 470, but he is far more likely to only hit in the 300s. That can be brewed out of, and he won't always attack mage, and the high defense of gano means that he will miss sometimes. It isn't very hard to survive without pray swap now. Without eek, his max jumps to about 600, though.. That's a lot more dangerous.

  16. Most routers are still running some form of unix-like operating systems on the inside ;) (The consumer products are all running some firmware based off linux with a custom web frontend)
  17. Yes, any teleport outside runespan deletes your runes and converts them to points. The question is whether there is a random which removes the runes and doesn't give you points.
  18. It's not that moving around isn't 'worth it'.. but moving around is annoying. Finding the wizards is horrible when he teleports before you can give him runes. Sometimes (even with access to all the teleport platforms) you have to go way out of the way and around just to reach an island. Even if I got more xp/hr moving around, I wouldn't do it unless it was very significant. The issue is that it is bothersome to move around, and feels like its not worth the time. If there was a countdown till wizard teleported, and more higher level platform teleports I'd be more inclined to move. As it stands right now, moving is annoying.
  19. I've had various randoms give and not give xp lamp, it seems random to me..
  20. It really depends. But its hard to calculate. I think the best suggestion was to record hits and misses for every single attempt at syphoning for each node and measure the success rate over time.

  22. Keeping them means you could go back with all your runes and wait till you *wanted* points. This would mean no more regathering. I think that would be very much better. Especially if the wizards stored them for you when you exited, and only converted to points when you wanted them to.
  23. Arceus, safe mode is only used if you enable it via holding S as the applet starts. It should never be used unless software mode doesn't work. What video card do you have?
  24. You only get spins if you log in. I don't know if those spins accumulate if you don't use them, but I believe they disappear.
  25. I thought last week was clever and effective as well, making half these boards change their shouts from "Away whith that wheel" into "Not fair! We want those tickets" ... (regarding the quest spin tickets not being awarded retroactively) TBH not that many people dislike the wheel itself, but more the buyable spins. I don't think the wheel fits in the game, but its not really bad. However, the buying spins completely ruins it.
