  1. Use Proselyte or Initiate at Armored Zombies. Pray Piety and if you don't have a good defence level 90+ and a bunyip then pray melee. I like to use a super set and wear Prosy but the super def + piety + bunyip usually keeps my health in the green. But I have 99 defence.
  2. Your high enough now Hemen. I started at 70. I stopped at 71 though because I preferred the higher profit of deaths at the time as opposed to the faster exp. Trust me it's fine for you to start ZMI now.
  3. Why would you spend more time on a skill than you need to? I for one know that I would rather spend 3 weeks on cooking and take a loss than spend 3 months on it and possibly profit. Your post kind of forgets that making money is a part of the runescape experience as well. Actually, though I have not taken time to read every post as they get rather lengthy, this thread seems to focus on the same. I realize that you have narrowed it down to skillcape discussion but there are still many other things to do in RS other than skills. So can you really say that they are disadvantageous because they cause people to spend money to achieve one? Most of the prices were the same way they were before the release of skillcapes too (as Kent said). I believe the only difference now is that the prices are higher than they were in the past, both raw and finished resources. I would say they are advantageous even though they can cause annoying moments while playing.
  4. I don't think it's worth it to sell a whip. The Dragon Hatchet can always be bought and resold but a whip is the #1 must have weapon in the game (if you ever train combat and are not a str hoar) Dharoks Axe trains everything by the way. Not sure if it has a controlled setting but there are Att, Str, and Def choices.
  5. Well, I have recently come back from a 2 month break from RS. Who knows how long I will actually keep playing but in the time I am playing I was looking to get into doing Soul Wars and hopefully, before leaving again, get 99 range (currently 95) A friend of mine informed me that he got 99 range from 88 in 20 days doing soul wars. I have no idea what clans are out there though and I was wondering what clan I would be the best for me to join. I am 129 combat (120 f2p) I have 2000 total levels and 135.9m total exp. Should any of that matter other than the combat.
  6. Just got a range level do I could get 2000 total. It's been about a month since I made a rate this, figured it was about time. Only got through 9 thieving levels (66-75) So I can't make a 98.9 thieving rate this... (yet) Without further waiting: Time to get on with mining and pray I get to 90 before I think about burning out.. seeing as if I hit 90 it will be more motivation. Thanks for viewing, See you again in 3 months... hopefully
  7. Do you have any proof or facts that sumona gives less exp/hr then duradel? Well considering Duradel tasks (with proper blocking and canceling) take about an hour and a half at MOST to do and not only have higher hp but are higher in number as opposed to sumona's tasks which take 15-20 minutes less to complete on average, yes I would say Duradel gives more exp/hour. Not to mention the amount of low leveled tasks you get from summona which is just very high. I'd say I have an idea of which gives more exp.. That and the fact that 99% of the people training to 99 slayer... use Duradel over Summona (99% is a rough guess but I would think it's not too far off)
  8. Use sumona until you are 100 f2p Combat.. then switch to Duradel. There is no use in sacrificing exp because you dislike a few tasks from Duradel.
  9. Most people (including myself) plant fruit and regular trees. Do one run of trees a day. Personally I use Pineapples and Willows. Other people use Pineapples and Maples. It all comes down to your funding pretty much. If you are rich, its best for you to use the best fruit and regular tree you can use at the time. To go along with the tree runs doing herb runs everyday (at least 2). I prefer to do Toadflax since they are a cheaper herb but alot of people will do Kwuarms, Rannars or Snaps for profit as well. Any of the 4 will make you profit so as long as you are doing some kind of herb runs you can cut the costs of your farming.
  10. Put it like this... Technically farming can cost you nothing... I profit when I farm. (or at least I did, haven't farmed in about a year now) This is what I did though: Planted willows and Pineapples 1 time each day. Payed the farmers. Did 3-5 herb runs each day planting toadflax and also Marigolds. (Super composted all patches and used Magic Sectors to pick the herbs) Simple as that.. The toadflax seeds are cheap but the herbs are over 2k each. 200 gp seed for at least 10k worth of herbs. ---- I do not know much about herblore though. But I do believe with the current market prayer potions are the best gp/exp.
  11. Do skills that are enjoyable to you?? How can you get 99 thieving or strength if you find them boring? You have to realize everything in this game is repetition so really no skill differs from the other too widely. Personally I found getting my favorite skill to 99 first helped me realize how other skills would be difficult to get to 99 and what it would take to get there. Now I am working on finishing off all the "Afk" skills so there are only non-Afk'ables for me to do. Then I am not tempted to do the skills already completed. Maybe you could try the same. Get 99 in your favorite skill no matter what it is. Then see where that takes you. Even if you fav skill is mining, slayer, agility or runecrafting... even if its cooking, fletching or firemaking just get it to 99.
  12. Use heart unit... I have been a member there for 3 years now and I have lost maybe a total of 30 games.. Both from old PC and new PC. You must be 109+ f2p combat though. If you are not then you are wasting your time. I see you are 117 combat but 68 summoning. I don't know how many of your levels come from summoning though. And if you get in, trust me you don't have to worry about healing the void knight. You will win usually as soon as the last shield goes down, since 90% of the players playing will be at that portal.... Also you can make the difference in the games by playing smart. I have found that out of the 30 games I have lost I could have stayed next to the knight and defended him and more than likely won 20 of those 30. It only takes 3-4 people protecting him so if you see that many ppl there attack ports if not stay and help. Also always make sure you take it upon yourself to close the gates.. people are dumb and leave them open, you close them, you win. Simple as that.
  13. Neither... Use a Warrior ring. Enhances your exp and is cheap. Berserkers are for the rich and Wealths are for the poor.. Warriors are the best option.
  14. Also extremely strenuous on the wrist if you ask me... What are you talking about... thieving is still a "cool" and "respected" cape. I have never once seen someone say wow a thieving cape how lame. ------------------------------ OT: I am doing pyramid plunder right now too.. you should stick with it, its really fast exp. About 9.5k exp per run. (I am 75 thief right now btw so its not like I am telling you rates at 99 thieving or something)
  15. Mage. Do MTA for cheaper exp. Its not to bad, or at least it wasn't. (This was when I was only using Enchanting there I could get 72k exp/hour and it cost me next to nothing... don't remember the exact prices though) Or you could suck it up and make money for a substantial period of time and be able to afford Mage a faster way.. your choice. Personally, out of all 3 I think WC would be the easiest to bear without having to make money in the process. However, the fishing cape looks the best out of the 3, that not really being a factor in your decision-making process. Seeing as you will be wearing your crafting cape a majority of the time.
  16. 9 times out of 10 the wildy course will be faster. Unless you are extremely unlucky and catch revs a ton of times wildy will be faster.
  17. The only tools worth getting are the hammer and needle. The weapons are in no way worth it.. They don't last long enough but yes people do get armor. People get the weapons either because they enjoy wasting time or because they are trying to find the "best new training".
  18. A little higher?... you have 1 unranked stat (I won't count Summoning) and no stats over 80. With 3 stats 70 or more (2 of which are combat based...) and only 1200 total.... My friend a 99 is the least of your worries right now. How can you not burn out on a 99 goal?... Starting from down that low, I would personally have to say you CAN'T... Yes I said it, you cant. It's just not going to happen and a "Respectable" one at that highly doubtful. Not trying to be the bearer of bad news here, just stating some facts. I did not take the time to read through the 2 pages though. -------------- Here is what you SHOULD do... Get all skills to 60+.. then 70+... Somewhere between getting all them to 60-70 you should find skills that you can really withstand and not get bored doing. It may be combat it may not be. After that, you CHOOSE which stat you can withstand doing for the longest period of time which will probably be your favorite stat. Go for 99 in that skill. Remember to be patient though. Zezima... Gertjaars... all the maxed total people. They did not get #1 over night they have been playing this game for years and years. And they focused and used all the time they had wisely. Just be patient and a 99 will come. /end long explanation.
  19. Please stop saying its a waste of money.. Time is money.. people don't suggest to do Sharks unless you can accept and afford the loss anyway, this guy can't.. but should he come across money, he SHOULD do sharks. Anyone can easily get from 94-99 with sharks in 2 days time. Yes that's playing like 10 hours a day (give or take) but it extremely fast. ----------- OT: Since you have a money limit then I would agree with everyone else in saying swordies are your best bet from 95-99. Probably even from 81-99 (If you have guants).. It will be a bigger loss but you end up finishing your 99 cooking goal faster than you would have using Tunas (a hell of alot faster) so you can use the extra time saved to make back money from the loss.
  20. Your set-up is good.. But substitute the holy book for a defender. The prayer bonus of the book is nice but in no way to the offensive bonus of the defender.. Trust me its well worth it to use the rune defender.. If you don't have one, spend time getting one.
  21. Firstly.. Whoever dumped 1m into 3 levels.. And you are only level 59.. Either you are lying or you farmed very Very VERY inefficiently. For farming exp you should be looking to do trees.. Trees.. And more trees. Personally I do Pineapples and Willows. I make all the farmer payments. Now that m,ay seem like a lot of money.. But its not. All it takes (or at least it did, I've stopped farming for awhile so prices have changed) anyways, all it took was 4-5 herb runs a day to pay for the 5 pineapple and 5 willow seeds I used that day and I would even come out with a little extra profit on top of that. So it was pretty much free exp. Also you can plant marigolds for a like 2k extra a trip.
  22. Fly fishing in Shilo would be one of the faster fishing methods for you. I struggled to kill the Troll Queen on Swan Song with 90+ defence 80+ att and str 85 mage 70 prayer and 90+hp... but then again I'm not very good in "intense" combat situations.. Its a wonder how I killed Jad on my first try. I have seen people with 80 or so combat fishing there so to just kil the trolls it shouldn't be to hard if that's all your trying to do. You do not need to kill the queen to use the bank, to my knowledge, but its been along time since I've done the quest so I could be wrong.
  23. Definitely go with Red Chins. Sallys are not that fast to be completely honest with you. I did chins from 63-80 and it was not slow in the least bit. And that was before the 1 spawn method came out. Stick with chins.
  24. Get an untrimmed hp cape and get the rest of your stats to 98. Its being attempted now and there is a guy with everything 92...but I mean come on over 1 million people have played this game, there is nothing "new" but you can be 1 of a select few that dedicate their time to earning that "wow" factor. So to be the second or even the 50th person to have an untrimmed HP cape with the rest 98's you are still going to get a lot more wows than 9/10ths of the RS community. Hell I got 6 98's and I get wows.. So imagine 23...
  25. I can make more with Greens than I can at Aviansies. In the range of 100k or more.
