Bad advice.. If he takes up skateboarding he's just a poser. And it seems to me jocks get more girls than skaters since skaters tend to fall into the who emo scene. (No, we're not starting an emo bashing session here.). Most preppy girls are hot, it's harder to find an emo girl that's hot. If he wants to go skater, I'll support him just so long as he isn't just becoming a poser. Though he'd better not become emo all of a sudden. Since when did having a girlfriend become all about being her being hot? I'd take an ugly girl with a great personality any day. My parents got us one from ebay last christmas, dont know if it was used or not but it was cheeaap. I think your best bet is go to Amazon or ebay or something and looking there, its not all used and cheap like most think it is.

What I mean is its obvious men are physically stronger than women, which carries over to rough-contact sports and some military duties, but it has nothing to do with politics (i figured their competence in politics and leadership was your main point).

There are plenty women Heads of State that are are perfectly competent for their duties and perform them well =\ . As far as I know, Bush and his lackies were plenty emotional during their term, going so far as to invade a most-likely irrelevant country I guess women can't really play (american) football as well as men, but I think that's besides the point. :?

It would have probably been smarter of them to do it before the elections so they wouldnt have done so bad in the elections. Yeah, but then you get all the lefties saying "Oh, hes just doing it to swing votes and yadda yadda and appeal to moderates" w/e. Its not like it would have mattered, mid-terms have almost nothing to do with the secretary of defense, its all voted on municipal and state levels. Im sure the administration has been planning this for a while, just waiting until after the elections to avoid election connections.

My point would be that everyone has that attitude, which is why that happens. However, if everyone who truly liked the ideas of an independent voted for them - we'd see more popular parties emerging and more serious third party candidates running. World peace would be nice too, but it's not going to happen =\

im not whining. im saying i am represented by 2 parties...the democrats and republicans. i like neither party...so why should i vote for something i dont support? Correct. But what you and everyone else who is tired of two parties should do is actively support independents and third parties. Agreed, even if you don't like the third parties candidates you should vote for the parties general views (since the candidates are unlikely to get into office). This puts a little pressure on the major parties to adopt some views :P Actually I think if anything it makes it easier for big parties, Republicans for the most part. For example, the Dems only lose votes everytime Nader runs for Green/Independant (whatever he is). You're better off voting for the lesser of the evils (Dems/Reps) than wasting that vote on a third party.

Basically a republic is spilt into municipalities/districts. These districts each send a representaive to a senate/congress to vote for the people. A democracy is basically where the everyone in the country participates, like general elections and stuff. The US is supposed to be a Representative Democracy; a combination of both
