  1. F2p is almost always going to be more crowded and much less efficient in terms of training. Firemaking is a decent option, since it's pretty much the same either way, but due to crowding you might be fighting for a spot all the time. Personally I'd do dung, I admit I'm not a pro at the skill, I haven't really done it a lot, but atleast you won't have to deal with the general overpopulation problems that you get in free worlds. I'm almost positive that miscellania does not work when you go f2p. Some verification on this would be good but I'm pretty sure about it. Whether or not you should sell your stuff kind of depends on how long you think you'll be without members. If it's just for a month or so, then just keep your things. If you think it could be for a long time, it would probably be worth selling. As for investments, I'm not really sure. I've never tried any of that myself.
  2. You can get an unlimited supply of eggs in from a larder in your house, so that's probably where they're getting them.
  3. Well, it's been a while. Life is pretty busy, and I made the mistake of renewing my warcraft subscription, so all my spare time has been wasted by that. Ah well. I move into my new dorm at university of iowa in less than a week, and I'm sure I'll even busier after that, which means this blog will probably remain as it is for a while. Anyways, the last day or two I've been doing some clue scrolls due to the new update. I never realized how difficult it was to get them. When I was doing slayer, they were always an inconvenience, wasting an inventory space with the promise of mediocre rewards. But now that they're a hot commodity, it seems impossible to get them. So far I've gotten meerkat pouches, biscuits, and scroll teleports, but none of the fun new expensive items. Shame. At the moment I'm camping abyssal demons, which I consider to be multitasking- whip drops, clue scrolls, defense exp, crimson charms, and the possibility of an abyssal demon head to stuff. Since I moved some rooms around in my house I lost my kurask head on the wall, and I'd like to replace it with a better one. Alas, I've been killing them for atleast an hour and I haven't gotten any of the aforementioned drops. But I guess that's just the way runescape works. Sometimes you get lucky, unless you're me, and then you're just always unlucky. Time to go log off and cut my hair.
  4. Personally I wear a zammy item and bring a holy symbol. Once you get into the zammy area, you don't need a sara item anymore so I just drop the holy symbol and re-equip my fury. Good luck!
  5. I took a break from fishing and did some quests. I only need 3 more quests now to wear my cape again- While Guthix Sleeps, Blood Runs Deep, and Nomad's Requiem. I'm really not excited about any of them. Difficult quest fights are really not my idea of fun. I also remodeled my house a little bit, got my construction to 80, and spent a ton of cash (about 22m.. haha). What can I say, I like marble & gold ;]
  6. Got bored and decided to try training my woodcutting with the sawmill.. Only got about 65k exp in an hour, I was expecting more. Oh well. I guess I won't be going back there again.
  7. Thread construction complete! I've got goals in every skill, all the way up until I eventually reach 99 in all of them :] Still working on fishing right now.
  8. Norriie replied to kingOval's topic in Help and Advice
Get 80 regular planks, 34 oak planks, a couple hundred cheap nails, and a small stack of cash (10k should be more than enough). Go to your house (don't forget a saw and hammer), build a few things til you use up those materials, and you'll be 20 construction in a matter of minutes.
  9. Decided to re-make this thread. Construction in progress! [hide] Hey :] I'm Ice, or Ice_goddess1. 10. Used up all my charms for summoning and made it to 85. Wish I could have gotten to 88, but oh well. I've still got a huge stack of herbs in the bank to use up- I think it's enough to get me to 77, not that great but atleast its something. Too lazy to do that right now though, so in the mean time I've been fishing for 85. Got 2 levels already, it's pretty relaxing but I find myself really missing the excitement of combat.. Hm. Maybe I'll have to return for 99 strength or defence sometime soon. Anyways, I've got a pretty big stack of goals I'm looking at right now- I want to max my melee skills, possibly get 99 summoning, magic, range, fishing, construction, woodcutting, firemaking, and thieving. I want to get my herby up enough for extreme pots, prayer up to soul split and turmoil, finish the ardougne elite diary, maybe get enough dungeoneering tokens for a chaotic rapier, and get all the rest of my skills atleast 80+. So I don't know if I'll be able to do all of that, but if I do I think it would be time to revamp my whole goal thread.
  11. Scrap the d med helm. Those are about as useless as dirt these days. If you're training melee with slayer (I recommend it, it's a great way to break up the monotony of combat), do smoking kills quest and get yourself a slayer helmet. If you're just going to camp somewhere to train your melee skills, do the Fremmenik Isles quest and get a neitiznnot helm. They're hideous in my opinion, but have great stats. For your top & bottom, barrows armor is a good choice. A torags top/bottom will probably cost you around 2-3m last I checked so you might need to save up a little money. They also slowly degrade over time, so there's a small upkeep cost, but it's really not very expensive especially if you're killing a monster with decent drops. You'll make up the money in no time. Obby cape is still fine until you get a skill cape, you might also want to look into doing Nomad's Requiem quest and get a soul wars cape, which has an excellent prayer bonus for when you need it. Ditch the sara sword in favor of a whip and rune defender- as stated in one of the above posts, you'll get the best exp training controlled with a whip. If you do want to train them seperately, only use the sword for strength, and use a whip for attack & defence. Dragon boots are perfectly fine and will continue to serve you well. As stated above, the best gloves are from Recipe for Disaster. The quest has several parts to it, and the more parts of it you complete, the better gloves you can buy. They go from bronze all the way up to barrows, with each pair slightly better than the last. Comparing the stats, I would only switch your combat bracelet for RFD gloves if you can get adamant or higher. You can keep your ring of life as a safety net, but it really isn't necessary. Try a warrior ring (fairly cheap- about 500k), or if you have some extra cash I highly recommend a berserker ring (around 5m or so). EDIT: If you've got any other questions about it, feel free to message me ingame and I'll do my best to help you out. I know how tough it is to come back from a long break- been there a couple times myself.
  12. Here's the setup I use for kuradal's dungeon- [hide][/hide] I keep all bones with the war tortoise- the profit is huge, and with the use of the fairy ring or a ferocious ring, it's so easy & quick to get back to the dungeon so it's definitely worth it. Using this setup and keeping bones I can get about 35-40 dragons per trip, so most tasks can be done in 2 trips. The pots are supposed to be 4-dose (didn't have any in my bank at the moment to take the screenshot with). I find that with iron dragons it doesn't matter much if you're using whip or LBS. You'll cut right through their defense either way with your levels, so it just comes down to personal preference. For the cape, I wear the ardy cape 3 from the achievement diary (for the pray bonus). A soul wars cape would be better, but I can't be bothered to do the quest for it. If you have neither of those, a skill cape will do just fine.
  13. I finally got 99 attack yesterday! ;D At the moment I'm using up my charms & herbs left from slayer. Unfortunately I won't make it to 88 summ for a uni, but I'm getting closer. After this I'll be doing some fishing, since it's a nice & casual afk-able skill. It'll be a good break from combat.
  14. http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=thieving_guide.htm There's lists of what you can pickpocket after buyers and cellars.
  15. oh i see if i loose a few f2p items i can replace them with other f2p items ? is that correct? Indeed. Keep an eye out for things like knives, spades, etc as they all count as f2p items but have no real use in f2p worlds.
  16. 300k left now! I might be able to get this today, depends how late I end up working tonight. Can't wait ;D
  17. I've actually found that chewed bones aren't too rare of a drop. Just doing miths for slayer tasks I get about 1 in 20, but I might be unusually lucky. Regardless, as others have said, go with mangled bones instead ;P
  18. They're still pretty common on F2P worlds Most likely due to F2P lack of bank space compared to P2P. I'd assume it's also because f2p can only use two GE slots for buying/selling. Ah, I miss the good old days of bank sales and haggling prices. Good times ;P
  19. Norriie replied to svs's topic in Help and Advice
I wouldn't waste the points on exp, 10k slayer exp is pretty easy to get. Why exactly can't you get a fire cape? With your stats it wouldn't be too bad, and it would be way more worth it to just get one instead of blowing through 2k points like that. Personally I'd buy the faster killing method (which means you'll still need to bring a hammer to gargoyles, but it will automatically smash them for you. I bought this with my slayer points and I love it.) and spend the rest on slayer dart runes to sell for cash.
  20. Abby spectres are pretty easy, with tons of money in herb drops which you can sell or use to get your own herby level up.
  21. Got my first abyssal whip drop! Woot :] Less than 600k exp to 99 now
  22. Norriie replied to silasinth's topic in Help and Advice
As long as you have the full mime set, you can always just build a costume room in your house and store it there if you need to get it out of your bank or something.
  23. 1. Dragon square is pretty useless, I don't know why they even included it in the new barrows guide. In almost any situation, there's a better option than the D sq. It's still a viable option for a cheap shield, I guess. Your best bet would be to do summer's end quest and save up for a blessed spirit shield (about 4m last I checked). 2. Not sure about zanik's bow (I think it's mainly used for pvp, but I'm not positive), but you'll want to stick with rune c-bow & broad bolts for almost everything. Salamander is good for barrows, but I can't think of any other real uses for it. Crystal bow has a few select uses (a lot of people use it at Tormented Demons from what I've heard), but it's not really good for general training. 3. Torags is fine. You might want to consider a verac's skirt though in addition to that, for times when you need a little extra prayer bonus while still having good defense. 4. With your defense, you should do pretty well tanking torag, guth, and ahrim (wearing melee armor for the two melee brothers, and range armor for ahrim, of course) and only using the ancients for verac and dharok. It should save you some money on runes in the long run, and I personally think it's a lot less hassle if you don't have to keep freezing them and all that. You might want to try both ways though just to see for yourself though. 5. No idea, never been to DKs myself.
  24. Woot! 98 attack~! ;D One level to go, I'm so ready to be finished with combat for a long while after this.
