  1. Congrats on the win, I really wish I was a sports fan in Boston. You guys are spoiled in terms of sports teams. :P
  2. I agree the only place nationality matters is the Olympics. But it doesn't change the fact that no Canadian city has won since 93. Only 4 teams have made the finals since and they have all lost. Most Canadian teams have been stuck in mediocrity for so long that it is no surprise that the Americans have noticed our failures at the biggest stage in hockey. The fact that no Canadian city has celebrated winning a Cup in 17 years is really disheartening. Cup droughts: Habs 17 years Oilers 20 years Flames 21 years Leafs 43 years The Canucks or Sens have yet to win the Cup. Not to mention teams like Nords or Jets who also played a couple of seasons post 93. Oh well I have been predicting that the Leafs will be the next Canadian city to win the Cup. We deserve it based on all the ridicule we have faced. Hopefully there is such a thing as Karma and we are rewarded with a Cup after all those years of ridicule we have faced at the hands of the hockey world. I'm from Toronto and I'm actually lol'ing at the fact that you think the leafs will be the next Canadian city to win the cup. As to the riots in Vancouver, they were going to happen win or lose. "Fans" don't go downtown to watch a hockey game wielding something to accelerate a flame, they go there to cause a ruckus. I'm not even surprised it happened after all the speculation for weeks that one would happen if they lost. Boston had 17 Canadian players on their team. Every dog has its day, and our day will come. Just hoping its sooner rather than later. And I don't think it is at all ridiculous that I think the Leafs will be the one to break the drought. At the moment no team is close to being a contender except the Canucks who I think do not have it in them to win. I doubt a Canadian city will win the Cup at least for next 2-3 years and I do not see why the current Leafs cannot improve into something much better in that time frame. We have the right management, the right mindset, decent stock of prospects and somewhat reliable core. Actually the team that I think has the best chance to win it all in a few years time will be the Oilers who have been stocking their prospect pools for a while now. But I can always beleaf. :P

Funnily enough that's the same year that Gary Bettman was given Commissioner of the NHL. Not to mention under his reign... Quebec -> Colorado Winnipeg -> Phoenix What hurts me even more is the efforts the NHL has taken to save some franchises that have been losing money for extended periods of time. I wish the same efforts had been taken to save the Jets. The Coyotes have been bleeding money for ages now, you have to ask the question was it worth moving them from Winnipeg.

  5. The difference being Habs fans would riot after a win as well. Yes an American team will probably win next year, Vancouver is the only Canadian team that will be a contender next year. Sens, Oilers and Leafs are in different phases of rebuilding and their goal is to probably just reach the playoffs. Habs and Flames are no where close to being good enough. Hopefully the Canucks crash out just as spectacularly next year as well. Edit: I forgot about the Peg team but they are probably the worst team out of all the above.
  6. LOL! Cansucks fans are rioting now, yes lets burn stuff when our team wasn't good enough to win. http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/livenow?id=8193381
  7. Despite being a Canadian I cannot stand the Canucks. I hate the players, the organization and especially the fans. So suck it Vancouver and your [cabbage]ty fans. Good night to all, and thank the hockey gods that the Cansucks did not win
  8. Reposting this. It seems that it will need to be a monthly thing at this rate... I've just had to remove a dozen posts of off topic flamewars. Please keep it clean and bear in mind Tripsis' reminder, because those who continually keep breaking the rules will get suspensions. Think you might have missed one. Thanks for this, I come here looking for updates to keep my curiosity satisfied and I always hate seeing those kind of posts.

Have you considered that the people who are running without gree grees don't have one. The Monkey Madness quest requires you to run once through the entire maze before you get your gree gree.
  10. Good Luck on training defence, your dedication is indeed quite remarkable.
  11. Still, he nominated himself as an influential/iconic player before anyone else did, plus after he did so people were asking who he was because they didn't recognise him. He may of done a lot for the game, but not compared to the others listed, otherwise people would of asked questions about their names. A very flawed analogy.
  12. I have never heard of you in my entire life. Really? That is surprising because he was one of the only few maxed rune pures (if not the first). He may seem conceited for throwing his name in the mix but the OP included pures in his list and in that case 3HitU has to be mentioned. And there should also be a mention of someone like Chessy018, simply because merching clans manipulating the GE was such an issue back then and she was the leader of one of the biggest of these clans. Not to mention the enormous amount of wealth she collected. She would go on my list simply because of her influence on the game.
  13. The most likely reason I can come up with is because they are seeking the fame and prestige and whatnot that comes with being high up on a list like this. Getting p2p and training there gives them an advantage over everyone else; it's kind of like the athletes who did steroids so they could get the gold at the Olympics. Also, it's definitely easier to train a maxed "f2p pure" in p2p than to get 2496 total and 2b xp for the front page highscores. Of course, Arkhie had said that she didn't know about this list, but it seems pretty obvious that she was lying about being pure f2p, so I'd guess that was just something to make it less suspicious than "I've been trying to get on the top of this list for ages". This is just ridiculous, this player has already stated they want nothing to do with this list. It is neither my business nor yours to then debate about whether she is truly f2p as she claims to be. I suggest you and everyone else just drop it because it serves no purpose in this thread. You do not know her motives in any case so I would stop throwing around accusations.
  14. I admit I haven't been a part of this discussion but I have been reading through this thread. I too am interested in the stuff you guys have come up with and I am sure it will help when I do decide to get back to playing the game regularly. I know that the wait can be aggravating but I think we can all use the time to calm down and stop getting worked up over this. I do not believe that the TIF mods are against the TEF community. We are all just hoping for a positive response from Jagex (whenever it does come).
  15. Let's please not go down this route, it's rude, unnecessary, destroys your credibility, and we're discussing ideas not people here. Bly, I don't agree with most of what you've said here, but I'll apologize for this kind of behavior. I agree, this is where threads take a turn for the worse. There is absolutely no need for personal attacks.
  16. It is deemed unsuitable by some people who do not plan on 200m in all skills, and we haven't seen any of the contenders actively training the skill since horn release, so the jury is still very much out on this subject, thus why it is being discussed. I bet if everyone in the top 15 decided to start training agility now, atleast half would use horn for it. I see, fair enough then.
  17. I am sorry I wasn't really involved in this discussion but I have to ask this question... If the horn is deemed to be unsuitable as a long term training method for 200m agility, why is it even being discussed in this thread? A thread that I may point out has been primarily focused on tracking the progress of those that are contenders for achieving 200m in all skills.
  18. I believe that is pointless debating with Blyaunte, I have argued with people like her in the past and I can tell you there is no point trying to continue a discussion with her. This discussion will continue to go around in circles because Blyaunte is delusional enough to believe that her OPINION is the only one worth considering. This is why I believe it is pointless to get into any sort of discussion with narrow minded people like her. I do not think she is a troll, she is just too stubborn to admit that she maybe wrong and is clinging to a losing argument to save face. Seriously, good luck to anyone trying to convince Blyaunte that her opinion is flawed. If she has not shown any sort of open mindedness in 11 pages of this discussion, she isn't likely to show it at all.
  19. 1. I am not even going to bother responding to this because for the purpose of this discussion I can make up any amount of people who agree with me. 2. Again the same thing about the "two political forums", also getting others to agree with you hardly proves your point. Not to mention I am curious to know which political groups you actually follow based on the kind of views you posted here. 3. I agree that I sort of jumped the gun but I still think it is a reasonable inference from the article. They (prisoners) worked manual labour during the day and gold farmed in the night. If this did not cause sleep deprivation, it did result in severe mental and physical exhaustion. Just because there is no evidence in the article of sleep deprivation does not mean this is suddenly a non issue. There are many who share your viewpoint on prisoner treatment but it was the way you went about posting your views was what many of us took an exception to. You laughed at the suffering of these people which shows you have a sadistic sense of humour. I will refrain from replying to your posts on this topic as it is the equivalent of banging my head against a rock.
  20. Stop pretending that anything you have to say is relevant. Really. Even if we assume that China has indeed taken action against this, their policy on forced prisoner labour remains intact. Besides trading of virtual currency is still rampant in China, and considering the article outlined the lucrativeness of this venture over manual labour, it is reasonable to assume that this may still be occurring. Regardless the Chinese policy on virtual currency is not the problem here, it is their blatant disregard for human rights and the use of these forced labour camps.
  21. This makes no sense. I have a right to complain about bots because they affect my gaming experience. I enjoy playing the game and I do not care if someone bots to get ahead of me on the high scores, but I do care about the bots that affect my gameplay.
  22. This entire post is so full of [cabbage]. I really don't know where to begin. First of all it wasn't "Playing a video game" that is the problem, it was the combined effect of sleep deprivation, manual labour (day time) along with hours and hours being stuck to a computer screen. They were also assaulted if they did not meet the quota. First of all, you can never possibly imagine what these people went through, so "playing a video-game" is a major understatement. I cannot imagine how can anyone can find the conditions described in these prisons even tolerable. I don't want to resort to name calling but I do not believe that you were at all serious when you made this post and I am certain that you are a troll. And and we are not allowed to examine this issue just because it has no impact on our lives? You are asking us to turn a blind eye against what is clearly the case of human rights violation? Criminals or not, they do not deserve to be living under such conditions.
  23. How are there so many people with 99 fishing, it is one of the most painful skills to train in the game.
  24. Have you ever done anything in RS which you didn't particularly enjoy, but did it anyway to accomplish one of your goals? Perhaps trained a skill you disliked or completed a boring quest? It's the same case for the loafers at Castle Wars, who are only there because they want to someday obtain the Comp (t). -------------------- Yes I have done activities that I did not like but I did not afk them. I have no problem with loafers personally but I simply do not understand why anyone would afk. If the activity is so boring that you have to afk then why do it in the first place. Maybe I am just not an afk type of person. I like to enjoy the game than chase after achievements by afking. But that is just the way I play, I do not want to impose my playing style on them.
