  1. http://www.pandora.com/ You start by typing in a song title or artist name, and then the applet will look up a song that closely matches the musical properties of that song or artist. You can indicate your like or dislike of a song, and based on that information the program will try to serve you with songs that you like. It's a pretty interesting way to find new music :)
  2. Meh, I wouldn't care if there were a few bacteria in my ice, my immune system could use the target practice. I don't get all this panic about a few bacteria here or a handful of germs there. You have the right to be a hypochondriac, and I have the right to point and laugh while your untrained immune system can do nothing but watch as a random virus turns your vital organs to jelly.
  3. Knowing the industry these days, you can easily stick another six months to that date. Still, with some games it's worth waiting for perfection, like Twilight Princess. Still, the longer it'll be in production, the larger the risk of death by overhype...
  4. So is there an ETA on this game yet?
  5. Once again you run around making assumptions about my life with the sole purpose of insulting me. I've only made the Pics of your room thread because I thought people would be interested in it, and I haven't been proven wrong yet. Note that I could have just as easily gone down to your level, with something along the lines of "omg you obviously have no real friends to share this with because you're posting here lolol." However I didn't come here for an ordinary shouting contest. You can go on and on insulting me, but that doesn't make this thread any less pointless. I have said nothing to insult you personally, I just pointed out that this thread didn't really contribute anything. If you get this riled up over a thread on a discussion forum, what does that really say about you?
  6. Yeah, because you know me well enough in real life to know all about my school life. Also, Wikipedia > you. If you go around clogging up forums with these kind of 'fun' threads that only recycle stuff that has been floating around for years already, you shouldn't be surprised if someone speaks up about it. Calm down and come back when you've found something original to post.

Yeah, I'd really feel 'owned' if someone sent me that oh so threatening automatically generated flash movie composed entirely of images that have probably been floating around since before the internet was created
  8. You mean booster, right? Anyway, my first attempt at tournament play was during Tempest/Urza's Saga Type 2. Those who were around for that dark, dark age of competetive magic will know what a traumatic experience that can be for the unprepaired. I got back in the swing of things during the Invasion Block, although I was scared out of playing tournaments for years.
  9. The bunny was a gift from my great grandmother, she gave it to me when we moved to the other side of country when I was four. It has been my 'security item' all through childhood, and it can still be found in/near my bed most of the time. As for the rocking chair, I inherited it from my aunt, who died of liver cancer last summer. I got a lot of furniture and kitchen stuff from her, since I'm the first member of her direct family to move out (hopefully this August). I wouldn't trade it for a normal desk chair if my life depended on it.
  10. Yup, I've played casually since Ice Age, and I've maintained somewhat competetive decks for Standard, Extended and Legacy for the last two. I live pretty far away from most major cities and I don't have my own car so attending the larger official tournaments is somewhat tricky for me, but I do enjoy playing smaller tournaments in the local stores. My pet rock is my main playtesting partner: *casts High Tide at the end of Arcticrunite's first main phase*
  11. I'd like to point everyone here to a Finnish metal band called Evilion. They recently finished their debut album Vanity and put it on their site as a free download. The band consists of six members; two guitarplayers, a bassist, a drummer and TWO female vocals. One sings in "rock" style, the other does classic vocals. Their music is an interesting of pompous orchestra, atmospheric and classical elements. I recommend you go to http://www.evilion.net/, try a few of their songs (especially Hide the Stars and Bread and Circuses, my peronal favourites) and maybe post encouraging messages on the forums if you like it. Do it for me if for no other reason
  12. The actual humour of a thread is usually inversely proportional to the amount of redundant upper case letters and '1337' letters in the title. Considering the fact that this thread offers nothing we haven't all seen a hundred times before, I'd say it confirms the theory...

Heh, I actually found the choirs in the song I was listening to (Therion - Muspelheim) far more inspiring than the music they had chosen for that site. I don't really see why anyone would need something like that to be honest :?
  14. It's still an interesting idea though. From what I've heard, the gospel of Judas is written with the idea that the quest for knowledge is the highest virtue, and that the physical world only exists as a burden on that quest. By handing Jesus over to the authorities, Judas helped him overcome the burden of the physical world and ascend to true heavenly knowledge. I'd love to get my hands on a transcription of the text and try to translate it for myself. Considering the timeframe it's probably not written in the Attic dialect I've learned in school, but it would be interesting enough to give it a shot...

I seem to be having trouble viewing the results, I can only see the two stickfigures fighting, but not the actual outcome. Guess their applet has gone wonky or something :?
  16. Someone with your problem might find this helpful...
  17. First, a snippet of rules from ForsakenMage: So let's see if we can do this without creating another drama, shall we?
  18. Yeah... I could stare at sweaty men grappling for hours... or... you know, not...
  19. Advent Children is actually pretty decent, but having played FF7 is kind of a prerequisite to really understand what's going on...
  20. I don't know what's worse, movies based on games or games based on movies. The Resident Evil movies are the best example of the former. The series have one of the best storylines ever, yet it seems to be impossible to make anything decent out of it...
  21. To make the fake more believable?
  22. Right... welcome to today...

FF III for me. I still have it on my mp3 player so I can play it in school when I have time...
  24. I wonder what I look forward to more, Word of Starcraft or this :P
  25. Reminds me of some tv show I saw once, they'd walk up to this random girl on the street and ask her who her favourite celebrity was. When she answered. "Paris Hilton is like, the coolest person out there," they asked her why. All she could answer was "Well... she's rich, and she..." after which she stared blankly in the camera for several minutes.
