  1. Then why did you miss rule 299?
  2. Yeah, because god forbid that they might aquire some skills that could prevent them from falling back into a life of crime... Imagine someone growing up in a very poor neighbourhood, who ends up turning to crime because it's his only realistic option to make money. He gets busted with his hand in the registry and gets shipped off for two or three years. If he comes out of those years with a marketable skill, he can find himself a proper job and he doesn't need to steal anymore. If he comes out with three years of his life lost but nothing else, he really doesn't have anything stopping him from going right back to stealing. Part of the idea of a correctional facility is correcting the criminal in such a way that he can become a productive member of society once he has served his time. Helping them get their diplomas is just another way of doing this. If they just wanted to help the criminal, they could just give him the money. However, this way it also helps society as a whole, those diplomas aren't just given out for fun.
  3. For those of you who have no idea what's going on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferengi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latinum http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rules_of_Acquisition Also, why is rule 286 on the list? If I recall corectly that one was made up by Quark, so it's not an official rule.
  4. My opinion? You need one of these... Seriously, there's a topic about Scary Movie 4 right below this one, just use that :?
  5. These days the death penalty hardly functions as a deterrent anymore, and the irreversability of it means that there is a chance that we end up killing an innocent human being.
  6. Those links were meant to be posted in a different topic ^_^; Anyway, what I meant to say is that any attempt to radically change an alphabet or language have always failed because the very nature of language means that it will have to change slowly over the course of years or even centuries.
  7. I think that with the rearrangement of the Library, RPGs got moved to the games board. Anyway, I guess it'd be interesting to set something up, maybe when my brain doesn't feel like mush. I think I have a character idea that would fit into a water world quite well.
  8. Nvm, I was a victim of tabbed browsing >.>
  9. " " <-- That's the extent of my fear for your 1337 skillz. It was nice knowing you.
  10. Not really, even a Ferengi occasionally has to buy stuff...
  11. 51. A man who swims with his pockets full of latinum will sink. Don't go swimming, but never ever empty your pockets. 53. A sharp wit can be deadlier than a sharp blade, but also far more profitable. 54. Greed is a force of nature.
  12. A George Carlin comedy show. They all kinda fuse together after 2am :|
  13. Fun :D 23. Governements rise and fall, but latinum is eternal. 37. Let good food and good drink soften up your customer - as long as it doesn't soften up the profit. 38. All sales are final. <-- Can't believe that one isn't on the list >.>
  14. Well, looks like that other link someone posted did work for me, turns out to be quite entertaining :)
  15. I can't seem to get it working, something about not being allowed access to the file, path or device :?
  16. Pop culture referrences aren't exactly rare these days. Some of them are way more subtle than that. When you examine the zombie boots you get from the undertaker random event it says "Thrilling".
  17. I've been training ranged/prayer at goblin village for two days now by picking up the goblin bones and burying them, and for some reason I always get a random event from the burying whenever I bury the first bone of a full inventory, and always once every 3-5 inventories. I've tried to get an inventory full and then repeatedly burying a bone and then killing a goblin and burying its bone to fool the game into giving me more events, but that doesn't seem to work.
  18. Ugh, what the hell is this doing here? Take your stupid spambot somewhere else :?
  19. As a cyberpunk geek I wouldn't be able to look at myself in the mirror if I'm not supporting Blade Runner :)
  20. I'd say that that's a rather bold statement, unless you mean an uncommon lack of intelligence...
  21. Angra - Lisbon, no idea where that came from :?
  22. At the very least, this belongs in the Advertising Sticky...
  23. D'oh >.< Oh well, guess it's pretty funny :P
  24. Therion - Abraxas The 'duet' between the male and female choirs in the second half of the song is absolutely brilliant. I turn it up to the point where my teeth are chattering whenever I get the chance. Therion - The Crowning of Atlantis The second time the choirs come around, this time with no instruments in the background. I don't know whether it's just amazing mixing or that it's actually sung like that in the studio, but it's absolutely brilliant either way.
  25. Yeah, but this isn't run by JAGeX, so the staff here have their own rules.
