Lordi - Hard Rock Hallelujah
After Nightwish got shafted in 2000, Finland is finally sending a proper metal band to the Eurovision Songfestival :D http://www.doteurovision.com/phpnews/ne ... ws&id=1051 They'll stand a snowball's chance in hell of actually winning it, but it would be fun if they at least made it past the semifinals. I think I'll be watching the songfestival just for this song. For those of you who don't know what to expect...

Is our soceity really that safe??--story-- !!READ!!
Note that I used 'seem' in stead of 'is'. To function in a community you need to think about how people percieve you. If I walked about town with my underwear in my head I'd be the same person I was before, yet I know people will hardly consider me normal for it.

I resent that you seem to think that I'm 'ripping him apart' over his spelling. I only made two side remarks about that because it's a peeve bordering on a psychotic hatred for me. I can live with 'your' and 'you're', but not with 'actulyl' and 'actually'. As far as I'm concerned it's just a bit of common decency. Further more, a little bit of effort into your spelling can go a long way to making yourself seem believable/intelligent (Again, not talking about small common mistakes but stupid garbled nonsense). I think I made it pretty clear that my main problem with the story is the fact that it's unbelievable rather than the fact that it's badly spelled, but if I have to say it so explicitly than so be it.

If this really is so important, would it have killed you to take two minutes to type this out in Word? Even if this is true, this proves in no way any kind of shift in our society. I don't see how it's anything but an isolated incident.

This is poorly spelled, overly dramatic scaremongery.

"Violent games influence murders" Says the News.
There's a three page thread discussing violent videogames not ten threads down from this... is this really necessary?

Deja Vu - A (very) short story
So yeah... writer's block... two months since I added a chapter to The Dreamweb... Anyway, here's another short scribble. Only 400 words but better than most of the dribble I've produced the last few weeks... --- Deja Vu "Welcome to Hellfire Club." The scarlet lettering on the black cardboard is barely readable in the dim light. I strike off a match and bring it up to the cigarette. The paper surrounding the tightly packed tobacco flares and the smoke fills my throat and nostrils and for just a moment I'm with Kimberly again and I can smell her sweat, taste her lipstick and feel her fingernails as they dig into the skin of my back. For just a second the sensation lingers. Then the moment passes and I'm back in the club, staring at a glass of whiskey I can't remember ordering. There's a redheaded siren on the stage and the mere sound of her voice makes me ant to make her a thousand promises of pleasure but Kimberly still haunts my thoughts and tolerates no competition so I force myself to look away and try to block out the music. I know that I am probably hallucinating, either from taking those pills earlier or not taking them, I can't remember, but the result seems to be the same. I close my eyes and my mind involuntarily drags me back. I'm at another bar in another city and even though the shift is sudden I know exactly what I'm about to see. The air is thick with angeldust. The music is slow and electronic, resonating in my ears like the thundering heartbeat of some great beast. The bar is nearly empty, everybody has flocked to the dance floor except for me... and Kimberly. I must have been the only one to notice her. She is drinking water. Nearly every intoxicant known to man is available in the building but she is drinking water. She looks lost, confused, but there is an aura of confidence about her. She is ready for whatever the world might throw at her. The red plaid skirt that just barely reaches down to her knees is only slightly less revealing than the tight white blouse she is wearing. With a will of their own my feet shift and start walking towards her and she looks in my direction and the glint in her dark eyes tells me that I am exactly what she is looking for. Three steps. Two steps. One. I exhale. The white smoke flares out of my nostrils. I'm back, staring at the matchbook. "Welcome to Hellfire Club." Welcome to hell.

Back problems
Is the pain concentrated around the spinal area or more to the sides? I would definiately see a doctor either way. Also, I don't know if you're still in school, but if you have to wear a backpack of books, try to adjust the shoulder straps, it might help shift the burden to a less painful area.

Slobodan Milosevic
I guess it saves the trouble of another few years of trial but like the others said, it's a shame that there's no conviction to go down in the history books with him. Furthermore, his nationalistic supporters now have more of a martyr than they had before. Even if the toxocology report shows no results, he'll still go down as an innocent man assassinated by the evil west. Still, the Croatia vs. Serbia case should dredge up plenty of details on the conflict, considering that Croatia probably has plenty of documentation on Serbia's involvement in the pre-war conflicts in Yugoslavia.

Plasma Pong -- Rock out with Fluid Dynamics
Frankly, I'm more interested in the background music than in the game itself. The game is still pretty fun though.

Bands with "pushed" vocals?
If you can't describe it properly, maybe you could name a few bands you have that match what you're looking for so that we would have a little more to go by... Anyway, from the top of my head I would say Iced Earth, not sure if that's what you mean though.

The Secret Lives Of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
This should be in the music and movies board, but yeah, Fox should pay, if only for putting such a rubbish movie out there.

Sports in school
I hardly found P.E. more fun. At best it was a break from tedious classes, at worst it was a pointless reason to stay at school/come in early, since the lessons always seemed to be scheduled at the very beginning or the very end of the day. From my first to my fifth year I had two hours each week. Indoors it was all sorts of stuff, mostly volleyball/basketball/football. Outdoors it was mostly softball/field hockey/football. I could care less for it to be honest, just seems like a waste of time...

Spore; the best game ever?
Although I admit the game's concept is quite interesting, I kinda expect it to go the way of Black & White. The idea looks very cool on paper, but in reality it's too much micromanagement to be interesting for very long except for the most dedicated of players.
