  1. I have always respected the quest cape but I don't see why people think that the new quest would make it more respectable other then it just means you did one more quest. The quest itself was do able, it took much longer than an average quest would take but in general didn't provide an immense amount of toughness, patience was the only thing that it took (imo). Now people are saying that the new quest makes the cape more respectable because you needed all the quests finished to start it in the first place, including Mourning's end pt II (as a frequently given example in this argument), but that requirement was already in the quest cape it self, in order for someone to wear it he needed to finish all the quests already in the first place. Some people now asume that the new quest made the quest cape more respectable as if now it requires 100 more quests to do it, but in fact it was only 1 more (yet long) quest added to the requirement, that's it.
  2. An okay article, more like describing how certain (obvious) changes have effected clue rewards and their values rather then any form of critical thinking. OT: I used to do clues quiet often, sometimes I camped for them at hellhounds or jellies and did roughly 5-10 a day. I did that for over quiet a while, after that I did them as soon as I got them from a slayer assignment (finished the task firsts tho). If my count list (yes I like make lists of almost everything I do (a)) is correct I should have done 962 level 3 clues in roughly 2,5 years. So far the most valuable clue I've ever gotten was worth around 400k (a zammy page, some law runes and random rune items). I still get them quiet frequently during slayer assignments but as you can probably understand I don't do them that often anymore. The chances of finding someone who's quitting RS and willing to BH his BluePhat to my account seems to be much more likely then getting a decent clue reward (that is 1.5m or higher). I've therefore more or less given up on doing them, in the past weeks I've done only a few with an average reward of 35k, I've got one more in my bank now and will keep it there for ages. Hopefully saving it up increases the reward, and else it still works to prevent getting more clue drops (cause usually if that happens I still feel slightly tempted to do the clue). As my motivation for clues dropped over the years the time it takes me to finish them has nearly trippled. Back in the old days I would spend about 15min max on a clue, today I might spend up to 60 minutes on a single level 3 clue, simply cause I can't be bothered focusing on my screen to do finish the same puzzle for the 1.000th time and knowing I won't get anything decent anyways. 3. +1 I guess it has to do something with the new Quest though ;)
  4. His ess/hour are way off. With graahk you can get 5.4k nats/hr and if you combine it with mouse keys a max of 5.6k nats/hr. But your in the ballpark 800k-900k gp/hr seems to be the max. With mousekeys one can "easily" do 6k an hour, and if very concentrated even 6300 is possible.
  5. Nice guide so far, can't wait to see the finished one. I was just wondering how it is cheaper than chinning, cannonballs probably only cost 30% of what 1 chinchompa costs, but during chinning at skeletons ONE chinchompa can hit up to 900% the number of NPC's compared to ONE cannonball. I however don't know how high you generally hit with chinchompa's so you might be right in what you say but it just didn't make sense to me at first.
  6. All very obvious but apparently to many of my friends this seems to make no sense to them whenever I try to explain to them they'd be better of using their best money source and then buy the supplies for something they want to train rather then getting it themselves. Very nice guide and helpful for those who are too tunnelvisioned about self sufficiency
  7. You probably only looked at the discussion I had with someone about nature crafting using nature altar tabs without looking at the actual video, cause in my video I'm not using any tabs at all. My video displays a completely different method other than the one you're mentioning, the person I was quotting was talking about the other way of crafting them with nature tablets and I replied to him, but the video itself isn't about that method.
  8. There is small, medium, large and extra large pouch right? If so then you have done a mistake in text  Thanks for pointing that out, I indeed made a typo there, it was supposed to say 4. I changed it and it should be allright now ;) True, tabs off course are faster than any other method. But the time it takes to get the tabs also plays a role. A little while back I've made some calculations how long it took and in the end it took me too long to get the the tabs. This was mainly due to the fact that the Great Orb Project worlds were mostly empty and whether you win or lose is very dependant on your team, sometimes you might win easily, other times your team kinda screws up and you end up wasting 15min of your time and getting no or very littbe tele tabs. I therefore prefer this method because it guarentees a certain production an hour, while obtaining nature altar tabs don't.
  9. Enjoy the beautifull skill of Runecrafting while earning hundreds of gp's each hour by making use of the most effective way to date to craft your nature runes. This method proves faster than any other method so far, including abbys. Level 91 runecrafters will even find themselves making 6300 Nature Runes an hour! If necesarry I will write a textual guide some other time next week, but I think this video will be rather self explanatory, enjoy. Video (watch in HQ) Frequently Asked Questions Q - Why do you weild a glory amulet if you do also have a ring of dueling? A - In case my ring of dueling runs out of charges and I forgot to replace it with a new one I do still have an emergency exit teleport with the amulet of glory. Q - Why do you only use 3 pouches instead of all 4? A - I only use the Giant, Large and Small pouch because this actually makes the process fasters and yields a greater amount of nature runes per hour. By only using these 3 pouches I only have to access the bank twice, the same goes for how many times I need to craft. If I would also take the Medium pouch with me Id have to access the bank 3 times at the start of the trip and I need to craft one more time, this costs more time and only provides me with 5 more essence. Calculations have proven that only using the 3 I named above will provide the largest production in a certain time span. Q - I can see that you withdraw essence from your bank and pouches faster than normal due to the use of mouse keys, however in the video I cant see how they work, so please tell me how to enable them and what I should do once I have them enabled? A - I was asked to mention mousekeys in the video description; to use them, go to your Control Panel, then Accessibility options, then Mouse, then enable Mousekeys, go to Settings, put their speed and acceleration on the highest notch, and check the box that sets press Ctrl to speed up and Shift to slow down. This way, when, say, withdrawing ess, you can just right click and press ctrl-2-5, which is very fast and accurate. This is fully legal. They are not required to be very fast at runecrafting but they do help. Owned_4ever2 --- My RSN is Owned_4ever2. The footage in the video was recorded by Witskebizzie, a friend of mines
  10. Jagex usually fails at making the real update just as great as they say it was gonna be, yet their announcements they make in advance DO cause a significant effect on prices. In this case potions will go up in price, which might be a good thing for skillers, but means a horrible development for thousands of others, while the economy is already crashing, and it ain't looking as if it's going to be better in the near future. When skillers realise skills such as herblore are more attractive now, they will also start buying more and more herbs and 2nd ingredients (unless they grow them themselves, but still a lot of skillers buy their herblore ingredients), causing the prices of these items to go up as well. In the end causing the loss/profit that someone makes on making potions even out with the same margin as today. So in a few weeks from now skillers will be making/losing just as much profit on potions as today, giving them no real benefit of the update. PKers have to pay a higher price for potions and armour, causing them to not benefit either. And yet there is another famous group of Monster Hunters (which I belong too) that now have to pay a high price for the PK-update too, cause their potions and supplies now cost a lot more too. And people, don't generalise by saying Monsterhunting is making you extremely rich and therefore monsterhunters should not whine about influx of prices, cause I killed over 3000 GWD bosses and still haven't gotten a single drop, but that's a totally different discussion. Yet they get smacked in their face twice due to a serious decrease in prices of monsterhunting armour (barrows, GWD items etc.), higher prices for their supplies, less money for their drops, trouble... So in the end I wonder who really benefits from this update? To me it seems Jagex is trying to get complete control over the economy, they already did so by introducing the GE and the trade-margin, but yet they think they haven't got enough control just yet. Lately they have been using announcements of future updates a lot to cause people to speculate heavily, causing inflation and deflation all over the market. Just by promising new armour with the PK release they caused a heavy deflation in the monster-hunt-armour-section of the market, yet we don't even know how strong and rare this new armour pieces are gonna be. They might be just as bad as barrow armour (compared to GWD armour), but just because Jagex talks so much about it people assume it's gonna be uber pwnage armour with uber high staatzzzz. E
  11. I might have missed the point in what you and the topic starter said. But I thought the point the topic starter made had to do with amount of common items are going to decrease when the new PKing is released, and therefore skillers are needed again to replace that. I however don't see a reason why we need so many more lobsters. I mean, they will go down in amounts just as much as with the former way of PKing. Back then lobsters were lost at a high rate too, as the looter usually didn't really pick them up. Get my point? :s :P
  12. You miss the point. You should realize that if no one is left on the other team (due to leaving or logging out) you will be teleported back to the Guild, and therefore not allowing you to get more tokens for a while. If there's only 1 person left on the other team you should notice that if it were you on your own on the other team, with 5 people against you, you have no chance of winning a single round, and therefore you are basicly wasting your time. HE however decides to stay during the game for a little longer so YOU can keep going and rack up on both essences and tokens, even though he isn't really earning something useful himself and is sometimes even getting shout at. One should realize at this point that this guy on the other team we are talking about is showing an act of absolute good fellowship (something that Runescape used to be all about a few years ago, but with the decreasing average age in Runescape players is now rapidly fading away) and should therefore be respected, people like this are rare these days unfortunately. And how can you be more respectful to someone in that case by giving him one round's victory, you might even help him a little attracting his orbs instead of your's so he will at least get a decent amount of rune essences that round. And c'mon, that's nothing compared to the victory you will get over the other 9 rounds. During the same time you've gotten 9 times the reward he/she gets, while you've even had more fun with your team while he was probably just standing there, waiting for the game to end...
  13. I do use it, I like it way more than most other stat sig's from other websites. I was just wondering, I can't see the poll on the mainpage (it still says the current poll is about what detail you play RS on) or in the poll archive so I can't officially vote yet, does someone have the same problem?
  14. I prefer this cryptic way of updating, makes you pretty curious :P
  15. With everything shutdown besides my RS window and having rebooted my pc recently HD still laggs for me, even in safe HD mode. I've tried it a few times and it looks so awesome that if I COULD play on it I would, but as my pc doesn't allow me to do so I'm still stuck in the lowest of low details...
  16. It helped me out a lot when I still played RS. The quest guides on Tip.it are, unlike RuneHQ, more brief and summarized. Sometimes though this forced me to check out more detailed quest-guides but on overall the one made by Tip.it were great! Calculators is something I too used a lot to see how much more time and MONEY I had to spend for training a specific skill. Most useful though were the forums with a huge database of player made guides for almost anything you could do on Runescape (from skill guides to minigame guides etc. etc.). These guides by far outnumbered Tip.it's own guides and therefore were great if you needed a guide that wasn't on the website itself yet. Besides providing a lot of useful information the Forums also provided something that kept me playing for much longer than I was planning to, the community. TiF holds a great and loyal community, with the majority willing to help out others when asked to and providing active forums with something to read every moment of they day when you didn't feel like paying too much attention to your RS screen. So on overall I can conclude Tip.it has been a great help in my RS carreer, both in informal as in formal ways, Thanks
  17. What is this mechscape exactly you guys are constantly talking about? I've seen several references to mechscape but have wondered if there's any place where I can read about this (apparently) new game Jagex is working on.
  18. Take a look at Bungie, as far as I'm concerned they do a great job to stay in contact with their players. They are dealing with even more players than Jagex does but yet their connection between them and the players is just unbelievable fabulous!
  19. I hope the full screen mode won't make it harder to switch between different screens. For every minute I play on RS I spent about 20 second actually looking at my RS window, the other 40 seconds I use for reading on TIF, have conversations on MSN and read posts on other forums. If the full screen mode will make it harder and really laggy I guess I won't play at full screen mode.
  20. same here, i really don't know how people get it to 99... Try chins and you will have it within 2 weeks :D Seeing as you got a phat (look at ur stat pic and avatar) I don't think that's a real problem :P
  21. That must have been so much work, very useful way of spending your time when smithing!
  22. That's an amazing, looks like it will be a pain in the ... to leave the 10m xp barrier again, since you want to reach 99 some day lol. Just try and quit at 15m unless you really wanna keep making money out of it lol :P
  23. Looks like a nice guide, but with only about 5m cash left to invest it will not be of any use to me, yet. I do however have to read it over one or two more times as some things are still unclear but I'm sure I will get the point anytime soon :P
