  1. Wow. Just got 400ish kills in a long game, with 100 deaths or so, as a sniper. Then my game froze. That sucked. I should play with you guys sometime.

May sat bored at the console. She figured she would check through it's functions to make sure all was working. Detonators: Online SR Cameras: Online LR Cameras: Online SR Motion Sensors: Online LR Motions Sensors: Online Shrieker Online: Online Cooling Systems: Online Backup Power: Full and Ready Defense Alarms: Active LCS System: Online Emergency Systems: Ready After this, the list blurred into an indistinguishable mass of numbers and code, and after a few more seconds, it beeped and said: All systems active and working. Slightly less worried about their current situation, and scanned through her archives. She found something interesting. She walked up stairs, and stepped outside, to see Vlad fiddling with his assault rifle. Seeing as he had experience in demolitions, she would tell him first. "I found information on something useful if we want to make a bomb. I found some speakers the military used to use to give warnings or stun enemies. They can be heard at around150 decibels at 2 miles away. If we can find some, and set them up with a bomb, any zombie within probably 5 miles will come running. That's loud enough that the sound could be more dangerous to us than the bomb. We don't want to be anywhere near one of those if we ever find one, and use it."
  5. These sentences made me laugh. How is it some random person's fault if a bunch of merchanters manipulated the price of something. I guarantee that only a small part of the rs population was actually a part of it. And scamming people for rares? Are you kidding me? Honestly? People stock up on things using something called "foresight". They think the price of something is going to be higher in time, so they buy it when it's less. And then selling to innocent people? Is making a profit a crime? The people were willing to pay for something, it's not like they were being tricked.

After helping Caladan, she headed downstairs, and sat in the chair in front of the security console. May thought to herself as she sat watching the monitors. The old zombies had just gone through water, they didn't have to breathe. Maybe these ones did. Maybe they couldn't swim. Or maybe there was just something in the water they didn't like. In any event, it could be useful information. Suddenly, she heard a beep. A motion detector she had placed a few hundred feet from the house had picked up something. May swore, as the beast came in to view. As she had feared, it was a tank or part of one. Its right arm was torn off, and it was running slowly, with a limp. There were gashes all over it, it looked like it had been in a battle recently, and the wounds were still bleeding. It circled around the house, but it wasnt aggressive, it seemed to just be looking around. May hoped that it wouldnt notice them, but to be safe, she slowly stepped up the stairs, and told caladan that there was a tank outside. Vlad, who had apparently been standing guard in the tower ran down the stairs, and shouted Tank! May silenced him, and whispered If were lucky, and quite, it wont hear us, and wont attack us. Its wounded, but still, if it damages the door enough, we could be in trouble. The others nodded, and she lead them back downstairs, to the basement. They looked in the monitors, and it was gone. There were footprints and a slight trail of blood leading off into the woods.
  8. It'd fix the physical injury, no doubt. Does nothing for the psychological trauma of battle though. Psychological trauma is going to happen, one way or another. The technology could still do wonders if it became readily available. Though I doubt that will happen for a long time.

May, while wrapping her arm in a bandage shouted down "Don't press any buttons on the console!" to falcon and as he came back up with a few clips in his hand she said, apologetically "Sorry, it's just I don't want anything to go wrong, it's taken me a long time to set all this up." "Well, I guess I should introduce myself to you two. I'm May. This is my house. It was designed to stop zombies, you know, the slow kind. Not these. I'm sure it will hold up against anything short of a tank. If a tank comes, the best thing we can do is aim for the head, but even a dozen or more direct head shots might not kill it. Those things are ridiculous. Anyway, to those of you who are new here, the basement. It's the safest part of the house. It has most of our supplies, and if we close and bar the door, it would take even a tank a long time to get in. From there, there are monitors for all the cameras I have set up outside the house. If you here a beep, anywhere in the house, it means they've detected movement, and someone should check the monitors. There are also some detonators to explosives I have ringing the house, but that's only for a last ditch thing, we can't waste them. Outside of the house is the garage, there is no way to get to it without going outside, unfortunately, and in there I have a few cars and a dirt bike. Anyway, Falcon, I think that at least you should get some rest right now, you were unconscious when we found you. I'll monitor the cameras for now, there rest of you can do whatever you want to get situated here. If your going to go outside, tell me first."
  10. That which you are referring to is commonly known as cancer, rather than organ failure. But you're correct in both senses: it codes itself, which means it codes itself wrong. Which indeed means that the Fountain of Youth does exist, in a metaphorical approach - in genetics. Furthermore, this means that once efforts have been accomplished to "fix" this common genetic malfunction, one could theoretically live until a new source of death arrives. And believe me, efforts are certainly being made. Yeah, organ failure usually is just chemical rather than cellular. Whether it is a deficiency, imbalance or unstable chemicals that cause it, there are many organs and multiple kinds that each one can go through. I guess to prevent ever having organ failure would be to get really lucky and not be born with any dispositions, constantly test the chemical levels of each organ (not a doctor, don't know how it would be done or even if its possible), and not ingest anything that would alter any chemical states (alcohol, many pharmaceuticals, drugs etc.) But then of course you could always get some disease or cancer that would cause organ failure. I knew I probably got something wrong. On the flip side of this, for military uses, they are trying to find ways to temporarily speed up cells in certain parts of the body. Imagine a wounded soldier healing in just a fraction of the time, it may not be the best for their life expectancy, but still.
  11. If I remember correctly, the reason we die of "old age" is organ failure, most often. The reason those things fail is because of the way our dna copies itself. Every single time a cell splits, it has to copy it's entire genetic code to the other one. If I recall, it does this in something like 30 seconds, and since it is such as short period of time, mistakes happen. One mutant cell will always produce other mutant cells, which in turn may mutate themselves. Eventually, they mutate to the point where they can't serve their original purpose, and whatever they were doing is messed up. If the process of copying our dna were to be slowed down significantly, we would live much longer, but wounds would take longer to heal, and things like that. It is possible for someone to live forever if they don't get sick, if they are extremely, extremely lucky, and mutations don't happen. This is why some people die at younger ages, and some people live to be >100. It's possible I'm totally wrong with this, but this is what my science teacher taught us a few years back.
  12. Although I don't have a screenshot, I do 100% remember the post on rsof that you're talking about.
  13. One time, I was doing a task, and I got a goodish drop, a d spear, and right as I clicked to pick it up, I got a maze. Here's a suggestion. All randoms that take you away, you need to talk to first. and if you don't answer soon (like normal randoms) they will bring you there anyway. That way you have time to finish whatever
  14. I laughed. English is one of the harder languages to learn, for a start. Why don't you go learn another language or two, see how easy it is in a short period of time.
  15. As a spy I just target snipers unless theres a heavy-medic pair that hasn't noticed me. Or an unguarded turret. Snipers usually don't notice you if you start behind them.
  16. Unless you have a need for maples, I would not go that route. They are worth less than the money you spend on them. The most profitable formulae is 100% raw fish and 50% flax, which will net you about 300k per day (more if you spin the flax), herb seeds, and half keys. you cant get 300k in 1 day from mtk unless you get super lucky and get all the best items I was thinking of fletching the maples, but I don't care either way. What, without getting the best every day, is a usual profit?
  17. Since I'm not playing that much anymore, would it be a good idea to dump 7.5m in, 10 on fish 5 on maples, and just check back every day? How much profit do you get each day roughly?

    Hypocrisy in PvP.

IF person A is fighting person B - and person B reduces person A's health to almost nil, then person A teleports into varrock. Person C attacks person A, on the hopes of killing him right then and there. Person A dies - but person C doesn't get the drop. Why? Because Person B did the most damage. Hypocrisy: a pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess. The first 3 are examples of hypocrisy. The last one, the tangent, is just annoying. Just gonna say this, judging anyone by a single action in an online game is no way to tell if someone is an idiot. Pjing a pjer doesn't make someone a hypocrite, they don't like what someone did, and to show them what it's like, they did it too them. It's like if a child does something wrong, and refuses to learn, you can do what they did to them, and they are more likely to stop.
  19. Don't text her back yet, and claim you didn't get it if you need. Hang out with maria, and give her opportunities to ask. Try to avoid kendra as much as you can until maria ask you, since your in different grades it shouldn't be hard, but don't make it obvious.

There were only a handful of zombies outside that were still alive, and most of them were running after vlad. May did as he asked, and shot a few in the head as they ran after Vlad. She started to run after Vlad, when something hit her. She was on the ground, tackled by a hunter. Before she could pull out her pistol, or anything to get it off her, it was clawing at her face. May closed her eyes and screamed for help, it was too strong for her to push it off. Just as she was giving up hope, a bullet hit the hunter, and knocked it off her. She looked towards the house. the man they had left lying on the floor had apparently waken, and shot the hunter. She stood up, shouted a thanks to the man, and ran off while wiping the blood off her face. She ran off towards the garage, which wasn't connected to the house. She opened to door, and got on a dirtbike and road towards where she had last seen vlad and the man on the motorycle.

May looked down the sights of her rifle. She aimed it at the head of a running infected. Just as she was about to pull the trigger, the zombies head exploded in a burst of red. She glanced next to her. It wasn't vlad, he was halfway through reloading his gun. He hadn't noticed. She looked again, and saw a few zombies falling from gunshots. Then, a few broke away from the horde and ran off towards the road. May looked toward the rode, and saw a motorcycle drive out of sight, behind some trees. May took a few shots at the zombies running after him, killing a few of them. "There was a man out there. Shooting at the zombies" She said as she turned around and looked at Vlad. She grabbed his arm and pulled him downstairs, and opened the door. "we have to get to him, there is no way he can survive out there for long."

OOC: I'm assuming the building you got to was our stronghold/house, falcon. ICC: "Well, I guess I should. I'm May. I think you said your name was Vlad... Right?" "Yes, I'm Vlad." "Well, you were in a pretty bad place when I found you last night. Your lucky I found you, or-" May was cut off by a piercing shriek, a tell tale sign a horde was coming. May swore, and shouted to vlad as she ran out of the room. "Follow me! I don't know how well this place will actually hold up against a horde." She ran downstairs, Vlad a few feet behind her. She ran into the basement, and looked at the cameras. All showed nothing, except for one. There was a man shouting out words, all she caught was "Not Infected". A few seconds later, he collapsed. "we have to try to get to him." May said solemnly, and ran upstairs, grabbing a shotgun leaning against the wall. She ran to the main door, slid out the bar holding it shot, and undid the various locks, and finally the door opened. She ran to the left, apparently where the man had fallen. Vlad came out behind her, and pointed out into the field. There were at least 20 of them coming towards them, at full speed. "Hurry or we all are gonn' be dead!" He shouted. May turned the corner and got to the unconscious man. She dragged him as fast as she could. The horde was getting closer and closer. Vlad ran past her, and grabbed the mans legs, and together they lifted him into the house, and closed the door. May dropped her end, and ran to bar the door. She slid the first and biggest lock into place, and just as she did, she heard a thump from the other side of the door. The first of the infected had hit the door. She locked the last few latches, and turned away from the door, as more thumps were heard, the infected pounding on the door. May slid a small panel aside near the top of the door. It was only a few inches wide, and was designed as a viewing port. Immediately, a hand pressed into the slit, only a few fingers managed to get in. May jumped back a few feet, startled, and dropped her gun. Vlad picked it up, walked to the door, put the barrel through the hole and pulled the trigger. The pounding on the door stopped for a moment, and then started again as another zombie replaced it's fallen comrade. May, apparently calm once more, looked down at the man on the floor. He was breathing, and had only slight wounds. Sleep was probably the best thing for him, and he would live if they didn't tend to him immediately. She signaled to vlad, who was still standing by the door, looking through the slot. She ran upstairs to the tower, where there were a few gunning ports. They had a clear view of the door, and there were several zombies pounding on it, and another ten or so wandering around aimlessly just a few feet away from the others.
