Should F2P get skill capes?

Give f2p players the capes with a (f) behind it.

 

No trimmed versions, and the capes give 3 defense bonus and no prayer bonus.

3) Most of the skill masters (where you buy the cape from) are in P2P areas. That goes for a good amount of the F2P skills. This is the main reason to me why they cannot have them. For then Jagex has to move those skill masters to F2P areas and it doesn't work so well.

The people in f2p who have 99s probably are not immature, and Im not sure if you read the whole front post, but f2p could have a portal to the skill masters

I happen to know a number of members who are incredibly immature. Also, I was not aware that the capes required a certain maturity level in addition to the 99 skill in question.

7/15 f2p skill masters are in f2p area sooo it wouldn't be too hard to just portal to the rest.

i wouldnt mind if free to play got skill capes, after all 99 in anything is pretty difficult (even if its cooking). And skill capes do give significant bonuses and were just made so people could say "hey i have 99 in (stat) look at me!" :thumbsup:

well as someone said near the start members get the best parts of the skill and to me that includes skill capes cause they iclude a an emote and reach to lvl 100 so to me those r extra features worthy only for members

It is MUCH harder to get a 99 in an f2p server for any skill (except maybe firemaking) and if somebody gets from 1-99 all in f2p servers I think it's well deserved.

 

 

 

Jagex might even make profit from all the people who give up and say they have to do it in mems worlds :P

Yeah, they are called achievment capes, and to get a skillcape in f2p is alot harder than in members, so yeah, i think that they do deserve them :D

Let me get this right, you f2pers want more bank space AND skill capes? heck why don't we just make everything in members thats useful f2p! then you'd be happy because you'd get the same stuff as us members without paying the bone crunching 4.50 a month.

My opinion is No. Free players get so much for free already. If they desperatly wanted a skill cape, then all they have to do is spend 4 - 6 pounds on a months membership, and buy a cape. :P

Now I didn't read all 13 pages of this debate, so if I repeat what other people have said, don't kill me.

 

 

 

I've been playing RS since july 2001, and I have never been a member. People always complain about how many autoers are on f2p... Try being a real player and having to deal with those damn autoers slowing your skill down... It took me more than three years to get 99 wc on f2p. Now I'll admit, I took some small breaks here and there, but everytime I'm at edgeville cutting logs, there are autoers... Incidentally, edgeville is the only save haven for woodcutters in f2p.. Every other yew tree is infested with autoers. Getting a level 99 in f2p is a lot harder. We don't have as many resources, as many training options, and we have autoers to ruin our game.

 

 

 

The thing I found especially hilarious was when Jagex announced the skill capes. This was about a week before the capes actually made it to the game, so f2pers were excited out of their wits that they would be getting something in return for their hard work to show how committed they are to whatever skill. I almost felt the slap in the face when I read "members can now buy skill capes etc" ... I think members hold themselves on too high of a pedestal. I notice that everytime we get an update, the rants forum is flooded with stubborn jerks complaining "I'M A PAYING CUSTOMER DAMMIT, F2PERS DO NOTHING FOR JAGEX!!!" It may not be easy for everyone to believe, but if it weren't for f2pers, there would be no runescape. Not only is every f2per a potential paying member, but we have ads on our runescape page. Those ads fund jagex whenever they are clicked, and with the amount of active free players, I have no doubt in my mind that they are clicked pretty often. Especially if you're playing one of those "shoot the monkey and win a free ipod" ads. The capes of accomplishment are a unique set of items. They are the only in game reward (unless you want to include the hoods) you get for your achievement, and when you're an f2per doing a lot more work than a member to get a 99 skill, it sucks not getting anything to show your hard work.

Ingrates?? You can't possibly be serious, or you could possibly be horridly stubborn and ignorant. We are always grateful for every update we get... The SOS, Party Pete's, and Clan Chat... And now the player kit option. You want to talk about ingrates? How about every other quest, I see people in the rant forums or recent update forums (on the official rs forums) saying "boring, it sucked!!! JAGEX IM PAYING MONEY DAMMIT!!!" Care to explain that? We are grateful for our updates because they don't come often. Members were out infront of the party hall protesting it's move, acting like they will never be able to use the party hall again. Now don't go assuming that I'm insulting every single member. There are several members who learn to respect f2p, because they aren't overwhelmed by their own ego. I see people like you all the time in edgeville, strutting around in an f2p world like you're a king. We don't have updates to make us spoiled, you on the other hand...

First I'll say that f2p should get capes, people I talk to like sir_jem work so hard on their characters while being f2p and when they hit a 99 because in effect it is harder to earn that 99, they should recieve a reward for it.

 

 

 

Sometimes its not the f2pers fault if they cannot afford to upgrade to members, so why deny them?

 

 

 

On the other hand, it was meant for a new addition for p2p so why should jagex change it?

 

 

 

It's not really worth the trouble to argue if they should get them or not, because it wouldn't effect the p2per if they did.

 

 

 

It'd be something nice for them to work towards, just like it is for p2p.

Whell, a small bunch of F2P players belive they "deserve" to get updates since the adverts give JAGeX money. That money is used to run F2P. I don' t expect updates, but I am gratefull for theese updates latelly.

There's nothing wrong with suggesting. Many of them are good ideas.
