NJE03
Well, I just finished reading all 18 pages of this thread (non-stop too! ) and I must say, I'm sick of P2Pers telling F2P how $5 is nothing, then complaining about how they pay valuable money for all their extra stuff. Just seems kind of hypocritical to me. Anyways, I don't think F2P deserves a skill cape, I think they deserve something better, considering how much more difficult it is to level up in F2P worlds. Frankly, you have a lot less resources and a lot more macros to deal with. Of course, we all know that a snowball has a better chance of surviving in a volcano than F2P has of getting anything even resembling a skillcape (in physical appearance or otherwise). (Insert fatigue-induced rant here)You pointed out a great fact about how many members say 5 dollars is nothing and then think they are so deserving with paying this "nothing". At any rate I would love a skill cape and believe deserve it just as much as the next guy. TheMinerGuy
i'm going to say no to capes, but f2p do deserve some type of item that recognises them to having a level 99 maybe a hat or the such? but without an emotion, as thats what members pay for =P~ me > samurai lux ;-) :ohnoes: \:D/ 10/10, and yes I would agree with that statement he is way to pompous. yanksrule
why not? couldn't hurt members. only make it a little twitch in the way they see f2p getting an update. also the cape is kinda really powerfull so if you got a little puny cape giving you like 3+ bonuses and you got another cape giving you 11 bonuses, is that fair? i support them having the cape but the combat bonuses that come with it i don't because the wildy will change a little bit. Wow, watching this thread is better than pro wrestling! =D>This thread is probably better than pro wrestling because the fights here are real (And the boobs). gameboypen
Yes they should and I would admire a pure f2p cooking cape alot more than a p2p one. Oh and you say that it's easier woodcutting for us with Maples and Mages, they are slower not faster than willows.

tuttle43
I think if a f2p player can get 99 in any skill they deserve a skill cape. Leveling to 99 as a free player must be very difficult and they deserve recognition, regardless of whether or not they pay $5 a month. I've killed over 20,000 dust devils while training to 99 attack and have still not gotten a dragon chain.

Guest
at first, as an f2p-er, i was very sad that the skill capes where member only. But i can live without them and i will.... we might deserve them, but we sure as heck not gonna get them. Furthermore i'd like to point out that somewhere i am glad we did not get skill capes, because in this way we high f2p-ers will not be nagged to show are skill cape emote or asked repeatedly for money and items. and for the people that like to unravel the mind of an f2p-er: i have money to pay hundreds of months of bing a member, but i simply will refuse to pay it, because this game you can also do for free. F2p-ers will always be left behind by jagex to make sure more people will become members. And members will always make us sure of the fact that we don;t pay so we have no right to nag about anything. Perhaps these short sighted people need a good talk with one of us. We are all human beings aren't we?
alpha_wolf
Im not sure if f2p should get skill capes. As many people already said, p2p pay for these kind of items. Rants would also be pouring ino the RSOF. So im not really sure :-k EDIT:Maybe f2p should get skill cape hoods but i dont think any1 really would care about those. If they made the F2P now, some people would complain for about a week before they got something new to complain about. The only thing keeping skill capes from being F2P is the people who will buy a month of membership so they can get it.

Retefael
I would say yes. First off, capes really don't give people any "perks", just the ability to show that they got 99 in whatever skill they got 99 in... They are not worth $5 a month, but still, it's hard to get 99 in skills on F2P I think, and yet they don't get the capes? I don't run races to see who's the fastest, I run to see who has the most guts. -PreCurrently the best beat out there:Minuit jacuzzi (DatA Remix) - TEPR
sup3rpur
how about you just pay $5 have one month of members then quit? if skill capes are that big of a deal the pay the freakin $5 lol. i make that much in like 15 minutes at my job... btw...nonmembers dont "deserve" anything, they dont pay to play and they dont make jagex any money...the only thing f2p does is bring more noobs into the world of runescape along with more bots :XD: nah nah jk jk a select few of the new players that join these days amount to something...wait that was a lie too! Retired after 2 accounts and 8 years of scapin...2 accounts over 2,000 total...may my life rest in peaceBrawl Code:5327-0581-3706

NJE03
I'm going to bring up the behind the scenes section up again: Yes, players who have reached the awesome status of having level 99 in a skill or completing all of the released quests will soon earn the right to wear a special cape. Each cape - one for each skill plus one for the quests - will be available in mono-colour or with a trim. Each cape also comes with its own special (and unique) animation, as well as a slight boost to its associated stat. The capes themselves look stunning, and will complement the outfits of even the flashiest adventurers. Notice how they worded that. They set F2P'ers up for disappointment by making it sound like all people with 99 skills could get them. And of course I think everyone who "earned" one as they say, should be able to wear one.
