For this person that had read the Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow series. Did you find that the Ender line of books got kinda weird after Ender's Game? They just completely lost my interest the further into it I got. I loved the Ender's Shadow series though.

Wasn't me that first mentioned the series, but I love the Ender's Game series. Whilst I agree that the following books took on a completely different tone, I still found them just as interesting as the first book. Yet to get my hands on the Ender's Shadow series though.

I also really enjoyed both series. Yep, the Ender's Game series is a little weird, but it is pretty good. The Ender's Shadow series is much less SciFi and much more about politics.

Discworld is one of the best book series I've ever read. It's a comedy/fantasy series. The author, Terry Pratchett, holds an incredibly unique award - the most shoplifted author in the world. There are currently 35 books in the main series, with two more coming up and another two hinted at. There are also five short stories, four "Mapps", three science books, two quiz books, a diary, and seven associated books (with one upcoming).

There are also eleven stage adaptations of different books, two animated movies, and numerous audiobooks, both abridged and unabridged.

Seriously. It took me four years to read the whole series. The benefit of this is, by the time you get to the end, you forget what happened at the beginning, so you can go back and start all over!

The last series of book I read were probably the Earth's Children series, the first book being "The Clan of the Cave Bear'.

The series pretty much follows a young girls who family is killed by a earthquake and she is adopted by a Neanderthal tribe. In the later book she leaves the Neanderthal looking for her own kind and gets into all sorts of Journeys and troubles.

In all the books are well worth a read, but the main character was made to 'powerful' and 'eventful' which made the books seem a bit cheap. The author Jean M. Auel also goes into long periods describing just the environment and the surroundings. These are very informative but once you read the first 20 descriptions you would find yourself skipping these parts. They simply contain to much information (which is often repeated) and prove to be slow reading. I did not manage to finish the last book in the series just got sick of how 'powerful' the main character got.

Another book worth reading is 'Dune'. It is based in the future on the planet Arrakis. If you have not played the game Arrakis is a desert planet which grows a powerful spice which has all kinds of magical powers and is essential for interglatical travel.

The Atreides were ruling the planet until they got into conflict with their enemies the Harkonnees. It is a good book, gets a bit hard to follow in a few places but worth the read. I have the other books in the series but never got around to reading them.

I found "It"; By Stephen King to be quite exilerating. I think you can never go wrong with a Stephen King book ::'. "It" is 1,000+ pages. I don't want to waste the surprise that you find near the end, so I will just give you the basics:

A "Monster" that lives beneath the quiet, fictional, town of Derry, Maine in the sewers, that feeds on kids every 27 years, for about a year, before retiring into a deep sleep, or hibernation, for another 27 years. A group of 7 kids, known as "The Losers" is lead by a brave kid, known as Bill Denbraugh, loses his brother to the "Monster" and vowes to kill "It", which takes the shape of a Clown to lure kids, but kills them as their worst nightmare.

I thought it was quite well, and I recommend it, even though it may not be "Medieval".

I quite enjoyed the first Dune novel also. I just re-read it a few months ago. The last time I read it I was around 10 years old, and had trouble following everything. Did much better this time around. I wanted to start reading some of the other novels in the Dune series but I have no idea where to start  .

But yeah, I don't think that's exactly what the OP is looking for.

The Shadow Box-John R. Maxim: Ok its an awesome book. It about this guy who's living a wonderful life, when his father is murdered, then his girlfriend, then a murder was attempted on him. He moves to Martha Vineyard but will his fathers dark past follow him? Plus it has great plot twists

Dan Brown books, they are pretty good

Thinking back, I also managed to read I think "Children of Dune". Thinking back to the edge of my memory it was quite a difficult book to follow and went quite crazy and twisted in places. Was quite addicting.

As far as I can tell, that one is the sequel to Dune I think. I am pretty sure I read it back when I read the others, but stopped after it because it was getting too confusing. I do believe in one of the books their was something about a guy "doing it" with his sister or something, and I am pretty sure that was where I stopped. It was pretty crazy and twisted :P .
