fakeitormakeit
Well there is always something about the end of the world on television and talk of what some people refer to as "Armageddon" has increased sharply in the last couple decades. I was watching some programs about the end of the world and such and alot of scientists believe that it cannot come about through natural disasters, rather human vs. human. One theory I was seeing that I would see very logic is that something would happen to the world (something very bad like a major disaster, outbreak of war and/or plagues, etc.) and there was someone who came to power by being very peaceful, brillant, charming and wanted to unite the world (kind of sounds how Hitler came to power). Then something happen and this ruler shows his true face and after he has control over the world he starts killing off people and you have no rights unless you swear legance to him/her (this is something like The Antichrist). And so death blah blah, etc. For anyone who believes in Christianity(mostly, but feel free to answer still if your not), do you believe in the rapture? The Rapture is when like all the believers of Christ are judged before the start of Armageddon and sent to hell or heaven depending on their life or do you just believe people have to wait until death to be judged? Feel free to say what you think might happen to cause the end of the world and please state why because you need info to understand the view of other people. (Please, I ask you don't start fighting with each other, thank you). And if you've read this far put "=+=" at the beginning of your post.

Giordano
The most likely cause is human vs. human. The governments are stupid enough to wage war for a few bucks. A war that might lead to nuclear bombs going off...and theEnd of ze World. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is." warri0r45
I am the Antichrist  ... No, not really. I think, aside from the supernatural side of things, it could happen through our intense hate of each other. We've already half destroyed the world with wars and the rich-poor gap (thanks capitalism and no I'm not a communist in case you're wondering) when we have the resources, manpower and knowlege for a utopia where no one goes hungry or is denied medical care and a chance at peace. IMO I don't think that we have the capacity to full wipe out our own species. Somehow we'll find a way to survive and restart. The bigest danger is very large-scale disasters, simular to what wiped out the dinosaurs. However I also think that technology has evolved to a point that we no longer are really subject to wiping out like that.

We are animals, after all, and will always find ways to survive and keep the population going. I'll be really interested in my lifetime to see if (a) global warming has catastrophic affects and (B) how we react to it. I'm sure we'll think of something, but we've never really had to face one of those 'too little, too late' scenarios in our history before (at least I think not). Barihawk
Your Rapture information is wrong. Only the believers will be taken to Heaven. Then, it will be up to the remaining population to decide if they wish to follow the Anti-Christ or rebel. And the Bible mentions the Rapture, but never states when it will be. Not before, not during, not after. It's completely up to God's plan. The day and hour is unknown, except to the Father and Son. Although I will admit, the first true time in history in which the natural course of events prophecized in Revelation have only started about 10 years ago. Food for thought. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley

np_tyler
The day and hour is unknown, except to the Father and Son. Actually... According to the Bible, even the Son does not know. New International Version (NIV) 35) Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. 36) "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37) As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Footnotes: 1. Matthew 24:36 Some manuscripts do not have nor the Son. Note the footnote, however... - Np Tyler

hohto
It's spelt Ragnarok, by the way. Actually Ragnar̮̦̉̉k ;) Anyways you pulled out the Hitler card at the pretty early part of the game. If you ask me, we already got a person like that. He currently sits in White House and obeys a name George. He got the power to destroy this whole planet few times and afteri seeing his brutal and selfish policies, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't hesitate to press the button first. Good thing is that soon he's 2nd and last term ends. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm

vilageidiotx
Zombies FTW \ (gets trusty chainsaw ready) I believe anything could happen. Being christian im naturally inclined to say im going with the rapture idea. Of course, maybe the world won't end, and the only reason we think it will is because we can't imagine anything lasting forever. Some people are like slinkies, normally they are dull, but they always give you a smile when you push them down a flight of stairs.
