I agree, accept I didn't really work my [wagon] off at school...bit of a slacker lol

i don't really know how people play the same amount in summer as in the school year...I guess people are exagerating because i seem to play a lot more but maybe because i don't like inviting friends round much (my house is empty tbh)

Well I wont be on RS for a few weeks if I go away abroad for vacation. But then once I'm back I'm always eager to see the new updates :anxious:

 

 

 

My holiday doesn't start until end of July, plus first few days I'll be reading the new HP book :D Plus will be seeing friends a lot :D

 

 

 

Don't think rares will be affected much, they will rise a little bit during the summer but thats it.

I'm probably going to be on about the same, between friends, vacations, and volunteering (my mom says it's more important than a job for some reason), it'll limit my time on, but not as much as some other people.

How is it going to be different from any other summer?

Dude camping is fun... I don't know where you camp but its very relaxing and its a chance to get away from it all...

two weeks? you're lucky, i dont get off for another 4 weeks -.- ...anyway i plan to pretty much barrow alot more and hope to get enough for a santa before end of summer......maybe 70 range, 80 attack and str, 70 defence. i've got alot of plans for this summer :D

Statistically, people play more in the summer. Even people that say they play much less in the summer probably play more This is due to the fact that it feels like you are playing less because of the ratio of free time to runescape.

 

 

 

In the school/workyear, you get, say, 8 hours of free time per day (assuming your not in college and that you actually go to sleep at night). That free time is spent doing homework, studying, sports, extracurricular activities, hanging out with friends, etc. Lets say a person plays runescape 2 hours a day during the schoolyear (many people play 3-5). Thats 1:4th of their free time, or 25%; thats a big commitment, and it feels like one.

 

However, in the summer, you have as much free time as you want. You go to sleep late, wake up late, hang out and be lazy, etc. During your 16+ hours of free time each day, you may play runescape for 3 hours, 1 hour longer than during the schoolyear. Thats 3:16, or 18.75% of their free time. Even though your are playing a whole hour more, you are playing 6.25% less compared to free time. Thats why it feels like you play less or equal to the schoolyear.

 

 

 

 

 

As for the actual topic, I strongly believe rares are going to go up over the summer. The ratio of rares to players playing at the moment is keeping the price low. Once people come back during the summer, the ratio of rares to players playing during the summer will cause a price increase. Statistically, because of the ratio of rares to players, rares become more rare even though there are no less or no more rares.

I've already got two jobs and one (voluntary) summer school course, so I've liquidated about half my items spent the rest of my cash on a mask set and a Santa. I'm guessing the prices will rise as more people start to play the game more seriously over the summer and the demand for them rises.

enjoy summer lol, its nearly winter where i live \ and playing on cold days is a lot more comfortable because during my christmas/summer holidays, when i was playing, i wondered "what the hell am i doing ton the computer" lol

I doubt im allowed to say this, but i'd compare runescape to being like a gateway drug. When you compare it to some other mmorpgs (WoW, FFXI) it doesn't have the same high level of addiction. Just enjoy it responsibly :)

Well you certainly bring up a good point - looking at the bright side of things, instead of just cirtizising :P

 

Well in my opinion, raries will rise this summer, since I believe Jagex will be making their best efforts to make rs a more enjoyable game for less developed players (noobs), which'll increase its popularity amongst new players.

 

The common items such as food and armour will, in my opinion, stay around the same price since the difference between resources/demand won't be too big i believe.

 

 

 

Summer will be fun, RS or no rs one thing is for sure - I'll be having a hell of a time with both my virtual and rl friends \

Well.. I'm pretty much a Computer Geek. I dont have a Girlfreind (all the girls in my school think im weird...) And all my freinds are Nerds, lol. So, ill probably Play RS all night and sleep all day,

Eh, I'm pretty sure most of the people saying they're "not going to be on the computer and instead spend the whole day on the beach" will probably average... I dunno, 8 hours a day of Runescape? 9?

 

 

 

Just admit you're going to play more, or don't post [for 97% of people]. When I played, summer was nothing but two to three DK trips a day- i.e. A LOT of Runescape. You're not making yourself look cooler by making such blatantly mendacious statements :| .

What happends if one doesn't like hot weather and spent there whole winter outside. or if someone is disabled. Just because its summer doesnt always mean you have to be outside.

 

 

 

OT I hope rares rise alot, be a nice change to there current fall
