Zoidnerd
Thats not nerfed, thats fixed. no thats nerfed No, its a fix. Nerf = something being tweaked by Jagex because they made a judgement they now feel with hindsight to be incorrect - I.E. Barrelchest anchor Fix = Something changed by Jagex because they overlooked a major aspect of its production - I.E. this spell[/i] NO ITS NERFED nerfed 116 up, 3 down The term "nerfing" comes from the online gaming world of Ultima Online. At one point in the game, the developers reduced the power of swords in melee combat. This resulted in players complaining that it was like they were hitting each other with nerf bats, not swords. From then on, if ever something gets made less worth while than it had been originally, it is considered 'nerfed' "Oh man, they reduced the dmg on the berserker class and now it's totally nerfed!" Bludragon124
I agree that is is nerfed. HOWEVER: JaGex did not mean for this to happen anyway, it would be far too easy to get to 99 mage. Therefore, I can see why they did this, even much to some player's chagrin. I would have liked to have used this for magic training, but oh well :? Noted raw mackerel drop... Wtfh? Lep
It's fixed and nerfed. But if you guys don't have a big enough brain to realize Jagex didn't mean for the spell to do that, then you were technically using bug abuse. However, if I didn't already have 99 Mage then I probably would have did it as well. :-w
Bauke
It's both nerfed and fixed. no sadly just nerfed It's fixed because it was "broken" according to Jagex. This was unwanted behaviour. For us players, it's just a nerfe. Twitter ||| Google+ ||| Facebook ||| LinkedIn ||| My very interesting weblog about science

Charge and Dream got nerfed I wonder whats next? :-k It's like saying Steel dragons is bugged because people can get massive xp in a few seconds. Edit: was referring to construction btw. :D There's a small difference is price : . Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Zoid - do you really think Jagex meant to give 500k+ exp an hour? not intentionally but they did didnt they? And there you have put your finger on the crux of the situation - they did NOT mean to do this - therefore the spell did not do what jagex wanted it to do therefore the spell is broken (does not fulfil its purpose) therefore Jagex changed it to make it fulfil its purpose - therefore it is fixed. Although I take the point about the nerf I always assumed it meant to be made useless, not just limited slightly.

the_tallest1
Seems Zoid just can't let it go. Anyways... I was obviously a fix because people expected it to be changed and very soon. If I didn't expect Jagex to change something I wouldn't go out and buy up thousands of runes then O.D. on training that one spell. The way people rushed out and used it while they could illustrates they knew it would be changed. No, they weren't abusing it at all. 571st to 99 Fm Nov. 4 '06 - 315th to 99 Crafting Mar. 3 '07 - 3410th to 99 Fishing Sept. 18 '0726378th to 99 Cooking Oct. 16 '07 -.- 99 Thieving Dec. 29 '07 - 1343rd to 99 Farming June 5 '081807th to 99 Agility Nov. 8 '08 - 3094th to 99 Smithing Feb. 14 '092012 total - 91 combat

Utopianflame
Not so much a bug, rather an unintended feature, one that anyone who has been around knows jagex don't like and would fix, when they became aware of it. I'm glad it got fixed quickly, I hated how charge was. there are no stupid questions just way too many inquisitive idiots balance is scary to people who like things easy for them
muggiwhplar
I got about 500k exp in about 15 Minutes, was really nice way to jump up my Magic Rank. And for everyone's info, the spell's name was "Dream". It was kind of funny how fast people made Astrals go up once the figured out what you could do. :) Haha @ the people arguing whether this bug was "nerfed" or "fixed." Solidus_77
Charge was the same a couple of years ago :P Spells like that are never supposed to be abused for experience, and are therefore fixed as soon as Jagex catches onto them, can't really have expected it to have stayed that way :P Perfect, couldn't have said it better myself, but I'll throw in my 2 cents anyways: You can't just pay 100 mill to get a 99 stat. Jagex has made it clear in the past already that skills don't and SHOULDN'T function that way with the charge spell. And this is not "nerfed" this is "fixed". It's not supposed to be ridiculously easy like this. 76th to reach 99 Construction on 6th of February 2007379th to reach 99 Runecrafting on 4th of November 2007 Finally the secrets of goal achieving are revealed! ixfd64
I'm not a member anymore; can anyone tell me what exactly the change was? From what I've heard, you clicked as fast as possible. I'm guessing that the spell now takes some time to cast? (I remember a similar "bug" back in RS Classic. You used to be able to cast attack spells as fast as you click, but people used bots to cast, so Jagex changed it so that players cna only cast one spell each second.)
