Best single moneymaking skill?

Featured Replies

I think the best moneymakers are mining and smithing and slayer. What do you think?

This has been brought up many times, and I beleive there is a correct answer . Statistically speaking, runecrafting is the best moneymaking skill per hour (not counting combat, as that is a chance skill and has no set money per hour). You can't argue the facts, so this really isnt an opinion question.

Please correct me if I am wrong, because I probably missed or overlooked something.

IMO, combat is disqualified along with slayer. Neither of them are moneymaking skills like the others because most of the money is luck-based so there's no way you can come up with an hourly rate.

Runecrafting wins by a very large margin when comparing at just about any level.

Runecrafting.

Even if you're a safe Runecrafter and you do not use the Abyss (like myself) you can make some decent coin if you think ahead and plan out a system. For example, runecraft Laws using the Hot Air Balloon (HAB) route to travel from Castle Wars and Entrana and then using Rings of Dueling to teleport from Entrana back to Castle Wars. A lot of people are already aware of this method and it's faster than using the Fairy Rings to make Natures. I can't really say how much faster is making Laws compared to Natures but it's less of a hassle in terms of travelling around.

If you go collect average drop information and money per hour from 100+ veteran dag king teams, barrowsers, slayers, kqers, etc., and they all come up close to each other in money/hr averages, I think other players would somewhat consider including combat. However, there are no specific statistics or even close averages for these, and I do not expect there to be. They are completely random, and involve more than the actual skill. I think we should vote to disculde combat.

Runecrafting is the best money making skills f2p and p2p.

91 doing natures through the abyss on p2p

99 having air runners you can make a good amount of money as well. 700k+ a hour.

Combat is not discarted;

Dagganoth kings.

we're talking about a SINGLE moneymaking skill. Dagganoth kings are insanely good and profitable, but you can't find a guaranteed hourly rate and they require a bunch of combat skills.

RuneScape money making ways:

Rc, barrows, staking merchanting. I think those are mainly the money makers, even if you didn't ask just wanted to write them :wall:

Farming + Herblore. <3:

You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?

Hunter @ lvl 63

Farming @ 32

Rc @ 44

Herblore @ 25  (actually herblore @ level 1 because you can sell herbs 1k-1,1k each :P )

.....those are the skills i like the most :D

Then we'll call it a 10 hourly rate, or 100 hourly rate. I dont think theres any other way to judge it...

happiehour.jpeg

Runecrafting, yes.

But let me put in a word for slayer. First, this is a single skill. Second, the drops at each level are relatively "rare" compared to normal monster drops. I'm only a mid-level slayer, but I've made tons on black and gold mystic and rune drops. They may not be perfectly predictable, but they come fairly regularly. It's not rare like a dragon drop. So if you like to fight for money, give slayer a try. And if you're going to try one slayer monster for cash, try infernal mages. They're easy to kill, so you don't need a lot of expensive food or prayer pots. They sometimes drop black mystic hats and lava battlestaffs. And they drop LOTS of death runes. Jellies also are good -- super easy to kill and drop lots of full rune helms (at least in my experience).
