rareghoul1
whips: weapons that deliver the strength of a d b axe with the speed of a dagger barrows: makes you practically invincible during the 15 hours it isn't decayed max hit 78: able to 2 hit any player in the game(granted the chances are slim, but it's possible) these all lead to one question, can jagex update combat anymore? jagex has made melee so powerful(no i'm not ranting about melee) that it almost seems impossible to update it anymore without the update being ridiculously powerful. sure the whip's spec is lame, but that's like a non member saying he won't use rune weapons because they don't have a special. they are the most powerful weapons availible to them. barrows decays after 15 hours of use, but does that make up for the fact that barrows armor can almoist make you invincible(and if you don't agree with that, watch someone in cw with full dharocks/guthans). how can jagex make combat more powerful without completely throwing off the combat triangle at high levels? how would these even more powerful items be obtained, considering how hard barrows and getting 85 slayer is. how high would the requirements be? 80? 90? only able to use while wearing the skill cape? what are your thoughts on this, should combat be updated anymore, if so, why and what would you suggest? Kill_Thomas9
I think they need to make armour that not only reduces the chance to hit, but how high the hit will be. The opposite of attack is defense. The opposite of strength is ??????

gamblingfool
max hit 78 Max hit is 100+ now. What's her name got 100 in that blog of hers like, a year ago. because I can't remember her name. Edit: If we're talking about pvp, then not 100. #-o But I do essentially agree on how combat is insane right now. Any updates from now on for combat would have to be carefully thought out by Jagex. 000wnage000
I saw something similar last year, the year before.. and so on, but runescape is still here and updating. Melee wise, i do agree the weapons are insane.. But, its fun doing lots of damage. They still need to update range, as some one stated above. Currently Working on: Basically Quit... anonymouse_
Imo they should have made whip 80-90 att, and barrows 90 def. These items are just too powerful for a mere 70 att, str, and def. It's too late now, of course...
Dazzuh
You say combat would be ruined if they introduce more powerful weapons, which i agree with, But.. more weapons or armour is not the only way to improve melee based combat. They could make the animations of combat better. They could make a more powerful/accurate weapon that requires more skill to use. For example.. there could be a meter on the screen when you have the weapon equipped and the meter goes up and down fast and the higher the point on the meter is when you click a button is how high the hit and accuracy is. There are many ways to improve melee still you just need to think beyond max hits. Also; i agree with most. Ranged needs an update. Currently not active on RuneScape. n64jive
the new weapons could have barely any new bonus, but just a lil bit(and maybe a decent special) and it would make a difference...So there is room for new weapons. There is also room for new armour. Armour with new effects would be cool. With Dragon items now in the plumet, I think it's about time for the next level of dragon(full helms, kite)

WolfhunterXZ
Not another thread about RS2 being at it's limit blah blah blah. No, it's not. In some ways yes, but it has a LOT of room to expand still, so shush and stop being pessimistic! And as for the max hit, I believe it was 78-85 something like that, with pots and A NORMAL WEAPON. But if you DHAROK on the most powerful UNDEAD monster (Most HP) then I belive the max hit is like 105? I forget, something between 100-110. And on a normal person with dharok, you could easily one hit them. (99hp at 1hp in the end, ammy with the most str, beserker ring, super attack and super strength pots added.) So ha!
