June 15, 200719 yr A mayor in the US state of Louisiana says he will sign into law a proposal to make wearing saggy trousers an act of indecent exposure. Delcambre town council unanimously passed the ordinance earlier this week making it a crime to wear trousers that show underwear. Delcambre town council unanimously passed the ordinance earlier this week making it a crime to wear trousers that show underwear. "If you expose your private parts, you'll get a fine" of US$500 (̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã254) Mayor Carol Broussard said. Offenders will also risk up to six months in jail. Fashionable. Speaking of people who wear saggy trousers, Mr Broussard told the Associated Press news agency: "They're better off taking the pants off and just wearing a dress." ''White people wear sagging pants, too'' Mayor Carol Broussard Town attorney Ted Ayo said the ordinance expands on the existing state indecent exposure law by adding underwear to the list of forbidden exposures. "This is a new ordinance that deals specifically with sagging pants," Mr Ayo said. "It's about showing off your underwear in public." ''I can't think of any fashion fad as staggeringly unattractive as this one'' Brian Phillips Some residents say the ordinance targets blacks, as low-slung trousers are fashionable among hip hop fans. Mr Broussard denied it was racially motivated. "White people wear sagging pants, too," he said. Being told what to wear? I don't live there, I don't even live in America. But I still think this is absurd. What are your views? Does anyone live in Louisiana? My dA account..retired, as of the 1st January 2008.
June 15, 200719 yr Hope it applies to womens clevage as well, otherwise thats just not fair! With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
June 15, 200719 yr Author Hope it applies to womens clevage as well, otherwise thats just not fair! I agree with what you're saying. But don't you disagree with this whole proposal? My dA account..retired, as of the 1st January 2008.
June 15, 200719 yr Yes it is ridiculous. Good luck with liberty America. June 15, 200719 yr Speaking of people who wear saggy trousers, Mr Broussard told the Associated Press news agency: "They're better off taking the pants off and just wearing a dress." HAHA So true! I've saying that for years now... I don't agree with them telling you what you should wear, but I don't like the saggy pants thing too much neither. So I don't really care. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."
June 15, 200719 yr pretty stupid if you ask me... Seems the mayor got a little law happy... Listen to the mighty words of Bloodredsword. Tip it MGC Xbox live leader board!
June 15, 200719 yr ridiculous. maybe there should be a protest of a bunch of people wearing dresses short enough so they can see their underwear
June 15, 200719 yr They'd better stop letting little girls wear skirts as well. They don't seem to know how to keep themselves covered so wouldn't that be just as bad as baggy pants showing off a little bit of your underwear? Oh, infants shouldn't be allowed to run around in just a diaper either because that's their underwear, right? Internet Marketing For Newbies

June 15, 200719 yr Hahaha. So much for freedom. There is no way that law can be enforced, they'd have to drag 50% of teens off the streets. A few friends of mine dress like that and although its not pretty, it's definately not hurting anyone. Stupid mayor. Thanks Venomai for this super sig and Kwimbob for the awesome avatar!
June 15, 200719 yr They're not exactly telling people what to wear, it's more like..telling people they can't show off their underwear. You can wear whatever you want, but if it's hanging half way down your [wagon], your going to get in trobule. I acually agree with this, because quite frankly, i'm sick of seeing people walking down the road with their shorts strapped to their kness ( Both WHITE and BLACK, mind you. ) What I hate even worse is when kids do it. Look, people on MTV do it, so if I do it i'll look cool, too! No one really wants to see your poo-poo stained whitey-tighties, mate. PUT IT AWAY. Our middleschool and highschool has banned the wearing of pants anywhere other than your waist, and it's raising the same propaganda that is is nation-wide. OMG THAT'S RACIST ( There is seriously less than like 5% of black people in our school. #-o :-s ) OMG YOU CANT TELL ME WHAT TO WEAR. Honestly, if they wanted to, they could make you wear a white polo and blue dress pants like I had to do for 4 years as a grade school student, and you couldn't do a damn thing about it except leave. Am I like the only person that agrees with this? Btw, how does this compare to women wearing skirts? The skirts don't come down past their [wagon] to see their panties. |Msg me me in-game | IrreIephant| ^ capital i

June 15, 200719 yr thats pretty gay i wear tight pant but i wear baggy pants when i go to the mall  :wall: but thats pretty unfair

The skirts don't come down past their [wagon] to see their panties. No, but some skirts are so short that you can see their underwear. And some jeans are so low that you can see their underwear. As for the law, I think it's a bit over the top. You're way more likely to see a girls underwear than a guys underwear any day, I think (or maybe I just notice the girls more than the guys?). Anyway, I think if they're making it a law, It should apply to everyone--not just guys. I don't think it's a race thing, but maybe a "culture" thing. Either way, it's excessive, silly, and doesn't say much about freedom in America, or in Louisiana for that matter.
June 15, 200719 yr Meh, I'm from Louisiana and our town passed the same law a few months back. So far, no one has been fined/arrested and I still see saggy pants everyday. Yay publicity without action.
June 15, 200719 yr Why has so much time been dedicated to this issue in the first place? Was there a saggy trouser death related incident or something? This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
June 15, 200719 yr What the hell? How does saggy pants reveal your "privates"? It's not like guys pull their pants down beneath their crotch and don't wear underwear... I'm just glad to live in Massachusetts  ''White people wear sagging pants, too'' Mayor Carol Broussard What the hell does that have to do with anything!?
June 15, 200719 yr Do you think people still be able to wear speedo's? :-k With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. June 15, 200719 yr its not the i like people wearing baggy pants, seems a little silly, but if they are going to out-law that, what are they going to out-law next is what im concered about i mean i think the only reason it wasn't put in the bill or rights is becasue i think our founding fathers didn't think we be that stuiped to ban that thomas jeffersion: hey george, think we should say freedom to wear what you want? george washington: rofl, what are you stuiped
June 15, 200719 yr erm I've seen people hide a machete in their pants before, so I think its a good idea to be honest.
June 15, 200719 yr Do you think people still be able to wear speedo's? :-k That's a little different. When you where a Speedo, I presume you'd be at a beach; not just walking around the mall with a Speedo. If you go to the beach, you have go to expect to see some skin. It's common sense really. People don't go to the mall to see people wearing Speedo's, they go to the beach for that. 8-) |Msg me me in-game | IrreIephant| ^ capital i
June 15, 200719 yr Law has to reflect what the society that law covers ordaines. If the majority of people in Louisiana see this as indecent exposure, then that's within their right to do so. I live in Preston, the law doesn't really bother me. Having said that, more girls wear jeans that are too tight and show their underwear than wear saggy trousers... so I can't see how this bill would really work. It's a very pedantic law which holds no weight in the real world. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
June 15, 200719 yr I live in Wisconsin, it doesn't effect me. And the guy's here sag, but they were basketball shorts UNDER their pants so you barely see their boxers. Makes them look three times more stupid.
