The Fire Cape - A status symbol?

Well I recently obtained the fire cape at 105 combat, and I'm very proud, in saying that, does it still hold the same status as when it came out? With people like Muggi getting the cape at such low combat levels, is the cape just another cape to cross off the list?

legends quest is always good

Tbh its anothner one to cross of the list. Can be useful for its stre bonus bnut so many people have it now, and everyone knows how to do it. Even at 50 range and 40 cb (ish) someones donne it. I dont think it holds much status anymore unless your combat is pretty low.

 

 

 

Skillcapes nalso seem to gain more respect because of the time it needs to get them but with the fire cape, despite 2nd attempts or whatever, it doesnt take that long to earn the fire cape.

It was a status symbol until people started paying others to do their fire capes for them. Just because someone did it at a lower combat level than you does not mean you shouldn't feel proud of your achievement.

I think yes, it is a great accomplishment. Not just anybody can get one, it takes time and hard work to be able to defeat the hardest monster in the game, if it's a low level that has a Fire cape then good on them because they worked hard to get it.

I believe it is still a status symbol. No matter if you're a 126 or just a 26 (if, by some chance, a 26 could do Fight Caves) it's not easy to do Fight Caves. Even if they do effortlessly anhiliate TzTok-Jad, it's possible it was harder for them to do other parts of the cave, what with all the different attack styles.

 

Now, with that being said, I believe that while the Fire Cape is still a powerful achievment, it is more of an achievment when lower levels do it.

I am level 122 and I still don't have a fire cape. It's still an achievement, imo, because not every one is coordinated/calm enough to not goof up on the prayer switching.

I know that i still respect ppl with fire capes for the fact that i dont have one and its hard to get. It's not the hardest thing in the game to get but its still an acheivment and i cant wait to get one after i get 99 hunter.

I still think my quest cape is the best status symbol, because it takes a long time to do each and every quest. many people can just fight easy monsters for 2 hours then spend 5 minutes switching prayers.

 

 

 

also, i never thought i would ever throw away my legends cape. but after i got quest, it seems so noobish.

I don't personally think it is. When you have people paying other people to do it, and lvl 60's being able to do it what status are you showing? That you can switch prayers and time a monsters jumps?

I honestly don't know what status it did/does hold but personally, for me, its like a skill cape, only certain people can say they have one, its not something you can buy out of a shop, something that can't be merchanted, you have to earn it, or rather, your character has to.

how did you get quest cape? you need 49 farming for FTP2

 

 

 

anyway, fire cape is still an achievement, when a low level has it it just means they're a pure. no well balanced low combat fighter could get a fire cape, if they could, then it wouldn't be an achievement. even at lvl 126, fight caves can still easily kill you. so it's still an achievement

I would guess 30-35% of people that have it didn't get it on their own. You can't even come remotely close comparing the money, time and patience it takes to get a skill cape over a fire cape.

Trix, your right when comparing skill capes to the fire cape, but I don't know what it is, but I kind of feel that in some cases, a fire cape is more origonal than a skill cape. I'm not saying taht the likes of 99 fletching and 99 cooking aren't great (seeing as I don't have them) but, those capes, in particular, are common I guess.

A fire cape is, imo, is a greater achievement than any of the combat capes, cooking, and fletching capes. Any noob can PC his way to 99 combat stats and 99 magic/ranged... However, the mining, agility, herblore, farming, slayer, fishing, smithing, construction, crafting, woodcutting and runecrafting capes are all a vastly superior achievement to the fire cape.

Its a very good point to make, I suppose then it is a matter of preference, I think though, most people would argue that Slayer is absolutly superior to the fire cape, like myself. Why? I don't know :XD:

When i called a low level a noob once he responded with you may be level 110 but anyone can do that, you couldent get a firecape because your just a higher level noob. its the only time that someones actully had a reason for calling me a noob :o

 

Of corse from then on i felt like a noob and asked everyone if they had done firecape and do they have any tips. Almost half of them said they hadent done and got a friend to do it for them.

 

but after 15 tries i finally got it :P then lost it at kq :( and then got it back the first try :P

 

since ive had it people have asked me to do theirs and i told them if they couldent get it then they didnt deserve it, the 3rd person in the convo said HAH, I got mine last week for 2 mil
