So... some of you may know of my horrible luck at barrows. I've had about 90 chests with no barrows items. this number, by the way, pales in comparison to my friend, who has had at one point five hundred runs, with only a dragon medium helm and an ahrim piece as the reward.

 

 

 

 

 

Anyway,

 

 

 

After the release of the dragonfire shield, I started killing dragons. I killed about 200 metal, 120 black, and around 30 king black dragons. I made several friends doing this, and one in particular has killed well over 1,000 dragons, with no visage drop.

 

 

 

I was determined to get the new shield... but the dragons weren't dropping.

 

 

 

So, I got fed up with killing dragons. I went to barrows. I didn't expect to make much; I only expected runes. Soon after my 90th trip, I got an ahrim hood. I was very happy, as I'd finally ended my bad luck. I messaged all my friends, and informed them.

 

 

 

Soon after, I was given a second drop: a verac brassard.

 

 

 

I was extremely happy, and all my friends were surprised that I got one so quickly after the hood. I continued barrowing, as I was now getting close to the shield, if I sold my veracs. A few runs later, something odd happened. I got a second verac brassard. I was very surprised, and eagerly messaged all my friends. They were all surprised, and very happy for me. I continued barrowing, as my stock of runes increased. Every single trip I got over 600 mind runes, and I soon saw a great increase from my previous 9k minds. Soon after my second, I received a third brassard. I began getting a little suspicious, barrows had never rewarded me like this before. My friends were equally surprised, and I was closer than ever to the shield. Then it happened. A fourth brassard appeared in my inventory, after my last trip of the day. I rushed to world two, and sold my brassards, the hood, and runes.

 

 

 

But I did not have enough. Shield prices were stable around 18 million coins, and I did not wish to sell any more of my possessions. I vowed to return to barrows the next day.

 

 

 

So, I did. after about fifteen runs, I got what I was looking for. A fifth brassard. I sold it, and was off to world two. I also sold 20,000 mind runes to my friend, who likes to DK regularly.

 

 

 

Now, I had 19 million coins. I ran over to falador square, and looked for a seller. Eventually I grew bored, and bought one for 18 million coins, from a fellow on the forums.

 

 

 

It was a very interesting way to start the summer, and I will be sure to revisit barrows.

Wow, 5 Brassards in a row :shock:, congrats. I saw you at Barrows, we were both using Full Verac. Sadly, all I got out of my 2 days of Barrowing was Dharok Legs and Verac Helm :(. Funny thing was, I was also trying for a visage drop and didn't get it.

I only get 6 kill count, unless i feel like killing a random monster, or I want to kill whateve is attacking me before opening the chest (when a barrows brother will spawn upon chest openning)
