I would buy all my skills to 70, 99 Construction, and then proceed to go Abyss Runecrafting in Third Age Mage, a Blue Mask, and a Fury Amulet just to make Abyss PKers mad.

 

 

 

Since most of them 1-item, I would get a Dark Bow and some Dragon Arrows to cut right through them.

 

 

 

All of my friends have great senses of humor, they'd love to know that's where their donation went.

Hahaha I only have one close friend, and he's such a waste of money I doubt he'd ever get one. Plus he lives to be ebtter than me xD (not yet achieved but in 3 skills) so he wouldn't gimme something to make me better =p

 

 

 

Regardless, if he quit and gave it to me \ , I'd ask him if it was ok to sell it, which I'm sure he'd agree to 'casue he knows how much I love leveling my skills, and get as many 99's as possible with the money =) and save some of course. :D

I remember making a topic about this sometime last year, my vote then was to keep it forever, and it still would be today. A gesture like that is worth alot more than the pixels you could get by selling it. Not quite a phat, but similar happened with a dchain, though I gave it back to my friend because she started playing again.

Well..If someone offer me valuable item for free I have to refuse that. That's because there is always tiny possibility than this 'friend' selling his/her account/items somewhere in net and breaking rule 12 (Real World Item Trading). If I accept to trade of very valuable free item from such player it might looks very bad and suspicion act from Jagex's side.

Same here. I wouldn't buy farming, much more like fishing, or even firemaking.

When I first saw this, I was thinking I would sell it. Then, I read deeper. "If your best friend quit and gave you a party hat." Your best friend. I would keep it. Who cares if party hats go to 2 billion gp each. I would still keep it. Why? Because it was from my best friend, and I want something to remind us of our friendship together. I remember last December when my best friend quit RS. The day before she quit, I bought an Enchanted hat from her. I still have it today. If someone offered me a Phat set for it, I still wouldn't sell it, because it was from my best friend.

I know, but an items helps. In the future you would be like "O yea, I remember! That was from ____!" And then you would start thinking of the memories. You would treasure it forever.

Still, I don't know. If my friend wanted to give me an item to remember them by, it would probably be something much more silly than a paper hat. It would probably be clockwork penguins from the time we bombed World 2 with them...

I doubt that'd ever happen, but it would be a nice thought.

 

 

 

My choice would be to (probably with my friend's permission, if you can believe that), use the p-hat as means to start merchanting. Once I have enough money, I would buy back a same-colored hat for keeps and use what is left to merchant in other rares and wares. However, obtaining an identical hat for less would be my first priority.

I agree with the majority results. I would keep it FOREVER and never sell it, EVER.

wait for market prices to raise. i'm normally not really caring of showing off some hat, no matter how rare and popular they are. i care more about money and the effectiveness of what i get with that money

My vote was for the keep it forever bit. If my friend decided to come back I'd give it back to them, though. Maybe with a few tears in the corners of my eyes, and a little shaking of the hand... : I'd give it back nonetheless.
